Song: Animal - Sir Chloe

"Trust."

I gazed into his eyes, scrutinizing his face to see if there were any cracks, any hint of a joke.

Satisfied with the results, I replied.

"Okay, trust."

---

I lifted up my cargo trousers, unstrapping the knife that was continuously poking me, placing it on the small airline table in front of me.

Romano looked at the knife before looking up at me, a quizzical look upon his face.

I merely shrugged my shoulders, ignoring him and opting to gaze out of the window instead.

I could feel his gaze searing into my side profile but I didn't budge from the view outside the window, we only had 20 more minutes.

Butterflies erupted in my stomach as I thought of what would lay ahead.

It seemed as though death followed me everywhere.

"Hey Ads, what's another name for an underground cell?"

My gaze drifted from the clouds and towards Jamie who was sat next to me, his head buried in a crossword, his eyebrows scrunched in concentration.

"How many letters?" I asked, my mind focusing on the task at hand.

Without looking up from the small book he answered, "five, the first letter is a c."

"How about a crypt?"

He counted how many letters there were in the word on his fingers, his face lighting up when he realized it would fit.

"Thanks. How about a word for when you exceed a budget?"

I leaned closer to Jamie, my right arm pressed against his as I peered over his shoulder to get a better look at the crossword.

"Nine letters," I whispered to myself, making him hum in agreement.

Jamie tapped his pen over the empty boxes, thinking hard about what it could be.

"Overspending? No that's too many letters." I said, taking a guess.

His face lit up as he realized what the mystery word was and started to pen it in the book, leaving me to spell it out as he did so.

"Oh, of course."

The word was neatly drawn into the boxes, finishing the crossword.

"I wouldn't have gotten it if you hadn't said overspending," Jamie admitted, shutting the book and laying it on the table next to my knife.

I smiled and shifted to the left, away from him.

"What was the word?" Mano asked, obviously feeling left out.

I looked to Mano keeping a smile on my face as I said, "overspent."

He gently returned my smile, glancing at Jamie before turning back to his fashion magazine.

My eyes connected with Jaekyung's for a split second before I sighed and got up, making an excuse that I had to go to the bathroom.

The private plane had enough space for me to stretch my arms out properly as I sauntered to the small cubicle.

I splashed cold water on my face, waking me up and washing off the grime I often felt accumulated on my face in a plane, private or not.

I sighed at my reflection, my roots were growing out again.

I would need a touch up before the kill.

I was about to leave the confining space when the door opened and someone squeezed in through the door, forcing me to spread my legs awkwardly over the toilet and press my back to the wall.

How could a private plane be so lavish but the toilet so damn small?

I stared wide-eyed at Jaekyung as she peered at me, not breaking the silence by telling me why she so kindly entered my bubble of personal space.

"Um, hi?" I said, trying to break the awkwardly tense silence that had engulfed us both.

She eyed me from the other side of the cramped space as I tried to sit down on the closed toilet, and ended up looking very odd when I squatted down, my legs on either side of the toilet.

I suppose I looked a bit like a crab.

She cleared her throat, clearly uncomfortable by the way I was sitting but I didn't give a damn, she was the one that invaded my personal space, awkward moments were what she got in return.

"What is Jamie to you?" She finally asked, her voice dangerously cold.

I masked the shock that overtook me, trying to decipher her intentions instead.

"Why?"

"I've seen the way you look at him, I want to know." She stated, keeping her voice void of any emotion whatsoever, making it hard for me to gauge what she was thinking.

Was she jealous?

A prickly feeling crawled up my spine as I jumped to the conclusion that she was interested in him and I instantly explained our situation.

"We used to be together before all this happened." I clarified, my face softening.

A moment passed between us before she spoke again.

"Do you still have feelings for him?"

"What?"

"Do you still have feelings for him?"

"No- I heard you the first time," I said, starting to get agitated at her prying, "why does it matter? Do you want to be with him?"

I turned the conversation to her, trying to distract from the hard-hitting questions she was asking me.

The truth was, I didn't know.

Her body stiffened for such a fleeting moment, I had thought I imagined it.

"If I told you I did, would you try to stop loving him?" She asked, my body reeling as she dropped the L bomb.

I was shocked speechless at her confession and observation skills.

Did I still love him?

No.

I couldn't.

"I think you're mistaken, I don't love-"

"It doesn't matter. Would you?" She cut me off not only with her words but with a wave of her hand.

It was only slightly condescending.

I nodded at her, clearing my throat before speaking, "Yeah, yeah, I'll try."

She stared at me for a second more before her face softened, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

Without another word, she turned and slid the door open, stepping into the cabin and away from me.

I gazed at the door that shut behind her for a few minutes before picking myself off of the toilet and washed my hands again, turning to the door and weaving my way back to my seat.

When I reached there, Jamie smiled softly at me gently guiding me to my seat with a hand placed gingerly on my hip and I gave him a tight smile as a response.

Satisfied, he turned away into a copy of 'The Innovator's Dilemma' and I inwardly smiled at his choice of book, it was just so like him.

When I turned back to marvel the clouds, I caught Mano's eye before he quickly brought his fashion magazine up to his face.

I had to stop myself from laughing when I saw that the magazine was upside down.

The idiot.

Checking my watch, I noticed the time.

Only 15 minutes left.

---

Well it took me longer than usual to write this chapter, do you think it's a little awkward?
I thought a little bit of Jamie and Jaekyung was needed after so much Romano because he can be a bit much sometimes.

Okay I've said enough, bye
