Akanksha

I somehow managed to reach home and tried sneaking into my room silently. 'Tried' being the keyword here because my mom saw me entering into my room.

"Akanksha" I heard my mom's stern voice making me dead on my tracks.I understood that she is angry so I slowly turned around giving her a sheepish smile.

"Maa..sorry" I said looking at my feet, not understanding what else to do.

"Akanksha! I always told you to call me whenever it becomes late for you to come from college. You don't know how much worried I was, you are my only daughter and you come all the way alone. When will you understand??" she asked me with worried tone but her face was still serious.

"Sorry maa, I was talking to Rithu and didn't see the time and there was lot of traffic near the signal. I wanted to call you but my phone's battery is dead and please don't worry, I am grown up now and can take care of myself" I told her giving her my puppy looks. Her eyes softened immediately.

"please, take care my dear! I cannot see you suffering due to anything" she told me caressing my hairs lovingly. I hugged her immediately. She can be strict at times but loves me more than anything.She is my best friend.

"yeah maa, I will and will you at least feed me some food now before I die out of hunger" I said winking at her.

"aah! See how I forgot, now go and freshen up, till then I will bring some snacks for you" she replied to me. I kissed her cheek and strutted into my room.

I freshened up and changed into a tee and PJ's and put my phone to charge. My mom brought snacks into my room, I thanked her and opened my books to start preparing for my exam. Well, I know its just a class test but I love studying. I am always topper in my class. I started studying having my snacks in between.

After some time, my phone rang displaying Rithu's name, I immediately accepted the call.

"hello Rithu" I said putting my book aside.

"hey Aksh! Do you have any idea which subject's exam we are having tomorrow??" she asked making me roll my eyes. I mean who asks which exam we are having when we hardly have any time left to study.

"you are asking me now??" I asked shocked at her response.

"Yup" she said nonchalantly.

"Encryption Algorithms in Network Security" I said to her.

"Omg!! That's such a stupid topic. We have to read a lot!!" she said whining at me.

"Its okay, at least now you start studying" I said wondering how can she complete studying.

"well, how about we bunk this class and attend others, anyways its just a class test right!!" she said making me shocked at her Idea.

"No! No! We cant, we have to attend the class at any cost" I said seriously.

"okay, we will think about it tomorrow, but I actually called to tell you something more interesting" she said her voice overflowing with excitement.

Interesting??

"okay, what is SO interesting?" I asked her sarcastically.

"you know what, after you left I saw Jay there, searching for you" she said excitedly. I can imagine her jumping up and down.

Crazy girl!!

"okay, wait!! Is this any prank you are planning to play with me??" I asked her getting a bit suspicious about this new follower.

"wait! What do you mean by a prank?" she shouted blasting my eardrum.

"I mean suddenly, Jay following me and all, if this is all your plan then just tell me. I don't want to make fun of me before everyone" I said confused whether all this is for real or not.

"you stupid! Cant you just understand?? Why would I play such a stupid prank??" she said on top of her voice.

"okay, you know its just that I cant believe that he is interested in me" I said her truthfully because he is such an outgoing person but I am almost a kind of nerd surrounded by books always.

"okay!! Wait, tomorrow you can see everything by yourself may be at least then you will accept" she said in a serious tone.

"nah, its okay! I am anyways not interested in all these" I said and immediately regretted saying it because now she is gonna give me a lecture on this.

"you!! How many times should I tell you?? just Live a Little!! You get that!!" she said in her stern voice.

I nodded at her but realised she cannot see me so I replied "okay ma! Now will you let me study" I asked her to make the conversation a bit lighter.

"okay carry on, good night Aksh" she said smiling.

"Thanks and yeah good night dear" I said and hung up the call.

I tried studying afterwards but all I could think was about JAY!! I didn't understand why someone like him would be interested in me that to why NOW?? I didn't know when sleep took over me.

Next Day

I woke up lazily switching off my alarm which kept ringing for about fifteen minutes now.I took in my surroundings and saw that my books are kept open aside on my bed. OMG!! I have an exam today and I didn't study everything, there is so much leftover. All this is because of him!!

Aah!! I hate you Mr. Jay!!

I quickly made my bed, strolled to my bathroom, brushed my teeth, finished my bath and walked into my room. I picked a Black kurti and paired it with an Aqua blue legging and wore them and braided my hair. I kept all my belongings into my bag, walked out of my room and reached our living room. My Dad is a Doctor, a very busy person and by the time I come down he would have already been left. I place my bag on the sofa, walked to the kitchen to find my mom making my favourite Poori with Aloo Kurma. I place a kiss on my mom's cheek, wished her a good morning. She replies me back with a good morning too. I have my breakfast, take my lunch box and walked out yelling a bye to my mom.

I reached college and was waiting for Rithu to make her appearance. Unlike me, her house is not far from college so its actually easy for her to be on time but everyday she will just come before the bell rings. I stood their waiting for her. I checked time we still have fifteen minutes. I felt someone eyes on me, I looked up to see who it is but found no one.

Strange!!

I took my phone out,plugged in my earphones and decided to listen some music. Music is one such thing to kill time, Isn't it??

Again I felt someone staring at me, I immediately looked around and saw someone looking at my direction intensely, I observed who it is, I instantly recognised him. Jay! omg!! So what Rithu was telling is true. I immediately looked down.

After sometime, I casually turned my head in his direction,luckily he wasn't looking at my side and was talking to one of his friends. But he suddenly turned and gave me a breath taking smile. I turned my face to other side.

God!! He is just so Handsome.

I have known him just as my senior but I never thought he would be so good looking.

Aah!! His gorgeous smile!!

Luckily, Rithu walked towards me, I caught hold of her hand and dragged her into the class before she talks something about him again.
