blinded by plastic

it's sad, really,
how you continue to look around,
trying to find the good things in life,
searching for the best thing out there.

when in reality, you already had that:
you had someone who chose to smile at you, even when you screamed.
you had someone who chose to be real with you, even when you were lying and faking.
you had someone who chose to see all the beauty in you, even when you were being ugly.
you had someone who would have done absolutely anything for you and your happiness, even though you wouldn't do the same for them.

it's such a tragedy
that you chose to seek out something better
when all along, the greatest thing was standing just before you.
