TEN

At around midnight, I startled. There was so much to think about, but my mind focused on one thing, or person... Will.
He hadn't visited for the entire month I'd been at the hospital.
       Had something happened to him?

I picked my phone, shuffled through my contact list for his number. He hadn't given it to me. I just had my way of getting it in the process of helping him out and his mom.
At least he wouldn't worry about his school fees, or any other bills for a really long time.
While at the hospital, I had arranged a transfer of ten million dollars to his mom's account under the title, 'lottery'.

Sally, my account manager, had made it all possible, without leaving anything that would trace back at me.
Instead of calling Will, I decided to first watch the video of his mom receiving the news.
Her face had lit up like a thousand candles. And the gleam of hope in those familiar eyes like Will's had been one to never forget.
She jumped up and down, hugged the agents that had delivered the news.

Seated on my bed, a rare smile crept on my lips... That was enough for tonight, I put the phone away and allowed my inner self to be in perfect harmony.

After a week, my legs could function normally again.
More than ever, I was determined to get to school.

  Leo dropped me off.
For an entire minute, I stared up at the open metallic gates. From there, I had a clear view of the parking lot, and the entrance to the one storey building that hosted over nine hundred students.
More were walking past me, without any recognition from the gray hood I had. It drooped over, hiding my face in its shadow.
Due to the head injury, the doctor had recommended to avoid direct sunlight on the stitches which hadn't healed completely.

Somehow, nobody seemed to take any notice of my presence.
Like I was invincible in that hood... Great. I thought rushing in the hallway leading to the lockers. Once u had dumped my bag inside, I grabbed English books and headed down to class.

Walking in that room, the first and only thing I noticed were the group of three students seated at the back. The faces were oddly new. All appearing like some throwbacks from the sixteens, almost white complexions, their hairs jet-black and threatening in a way like their black clad.
Look at them when every other person called me Gothic and mysterious. How had they labelled them?

There were a few familiar students in too, while more kept coming in.
Without another care, I slipped to my corner, and busied myself in the silence.

Minutes later, the class was full, but the teacher seemed like she'd be really late.

Seated at that position, I could feel eyes roaming over me from the other corner. Eyes that penetrated my hood to my brain and soul... The temptation to look over overwhelmed me, and I did just that.
        Boom!

One of the two females was staring at me over the three students separating us.
She gave me a side smirk which got me raising my right eyebrow. Now that was creepy.

Finally, the teacher showed up. I could thank heaven later for saving me from that imprisonment.
And when the lesson was up, I didn't stick around a second longer, I shot out of the room.

Even after a whole day of searching, I hadn't seen Will. Had he been expelled? Or even worse, left?
No, the school secretary had confirmed he was still attending classes there. I could relax.

Maybe he ditched school today. I should probably stop by at his house.
That, I would. Just as soon as I got rid of the approaching Harry.
He stopped beside my locker, putting on the most adorable smile ever... He wasn't half bad, light green eyes, short blond hair, and a body every girl in her right mind dreaded for.

He was every girl's crush. All but, me.
He was the devil's right hand man if that would perfectly describe what he'd turn out soon.

"Agatha, so glad to see you."
I only gave a nod, stuffing the unneeded books in the metal cubicle.
       "So? Going anywhere?"
My bored gaze rested on him.
The only reason he was showing interest in me, was because I was rich. And probably thought he'd take part in my inheritance if got to cage me in the fantasy of romance.

      "Yes. Got plans."
I went ahead and locked away my possessions, then swung the backpack on my shoulders.

"But, your aunt Becka said I could take you out for dinner."
"Sorry, another day," replied and started to walk past him.
    A hand caught my arm.
"Why are you making this difficult for yourself Agatha? We both know sooner or later, this was bound to happen. You, Crowning me?"

At those words, my insides felt like they were breaking to pieces after freezing.
      I glanced up shocked.
And he returned my confusion with an evil grin... "Thought I didn't know?"
  "Bu-But how?" I stuttered lowly.

"Let's go out for dinner and I can-" "Never!" Yanked my arm, scowled at him then stomped off for the exit.

"Is this where you-" "Yes. Just pull over here."
I left the bag in the car, informing him not to wait on me.
   "I'll go home in a bus. I won't be late I promise."

  "Okay kiddo. Just be careful."

The black car took a U-turn and drove back.

Will's house, now possessing a new shade of bright cream, shone so attractively in the evening sunlight. The lawn seemed different too. The porch certainly owning three comfortable couches.
After ringing the doorbell, I waited... Two minutes, nothing.

I rang again... Footsteps, the the door was pulled open. A woman in her early forties smiled at me, Will's mom.
    "Well, hello?"
"H-Hey."
"How may I help-" "Mom?" The voice came. The same voice I had wished to hear in what seemed like an eternity.
"A minute son. I have a pretty girl at our door..." Her attention came back to me. "You're looking for Will, right?" Her smile was delightful in person than in the video.

"Yes." Answered in a bit of tension.

"Son? She's here for you!"
"Come in, come on in beautiful."

The moment I stepped in, a huge air of difference hit. It was s totally renovation. Everything shone at every corner.
I actually felt good with myself. Had done a good deed for someone.

              WILL'S POV

Which girl would come looking for me at my house? A crazy one, I said slipping out of the kitchen with a red apple in hand.
Mom was blocking her, but could see the simple white flats walking behind her.

"Don't screw up," mom whispered as she went ahead. At the revelation whom it was, my heart dropped inside my chest.
So did the apple that I had barely taken a bite.

"Agatha?" I snapped alarmed all of a sudden.
"Hey, Will."

I grasped her right wrist cruelly, and tagged her up to my room.
Once the door was safely locked, my glare fell on her.
"What are you doing here? Want me to be butchered?"

  Her soft forehead wrinkled up.
"What do you...mean?"

I inhaled, ran a hand down my face. "Remember you were hit by a lorry leaving my house? Well your aunts were so kind as to reward me for bringing you here." Spat in sarcasm.

"You never came to see me." It's all she said.
"Agatha!" It was close to a bellow. Which I regretted from the fear that quickly consumed that pretty face.
"Look," I calmed my stupid anger not to hurt her marshy feelings. "They asked me to stat really far from you if I valued my mom. And from what I know about your family, they are so kind to people they don't like."

   The wetness was back.
She looked so vulnerable and fragile.

"I'm not my family," Ag yelled balling her hands into fists.
   "Well I love my mo-"
"What about me?" She demanded taking a step closer. The distance remaining was a heartbeat off.
"Come on Ag, I'm sure you can forget the little fantasy you had started creating for-" I was suddenly pulled down by soft hands, then even softer lips crashed mine.

There was fire in her kiss, it burned me deep to my chest. I wanted to cut it, but damn! Felt so sweet... The great Agatha Cruise that everyone talked about, feared, had fallen for a poor bastard like me. I didn't need a love wizard to tell me that Ag had feelings for me. Not when she was kissing me like a lover that had been lost in space.

"Ag?" Whispered cupping her face for a break.

  "You need to leave."
It's the only smart thing I could think of.
Her watery gray eyes shone up to mine. "I thought you...liked me?"
Yes I did like her, but I was being made to choose between mom, and a girl that could abandon me at a snap.

"No Ag. I just liked your company. Liked teasing and humiliating you."
"No!" She whined in a painful whisper.
Her hands let go of my shirt, and she backed. "I hate you Will! I hate you all." Ag yelled before running off wiping her tears.

I shut my eyes with my face angled to the ceiling.
It was for the best, I comforted. She'd be better off without my trouble around her.
