Nocturne takes to the skies and revels in the feeling of flying. Being with Mori like he has been has kept him more or less grounded and he hadn't realize just how much he's missed flying. It's full on dark, time for the vampire hunt. Perhaps Dvis doesn't know or perhaps he never knew that Nocturne was considered the best hunter of the vampire's easily beating his brother. Easily beating them all, he just didn't have time to enjoy his favorite past time since his brother started the civil war.

One by one Nocturne finds and captures the vampires. He sends them home after telling them that Mori has been found and is safe. Then each vampire nods and returns to his own home or preferred location. This continues until just one remains.

The cruel smile that slides onto his face would have chilled Dvis's heart if he could see it. Nocturne is just as happy that Mori can't, but he can't hide his feelings of anticipation. Twenty minutes left of the time limit Mori gave him.

Nocturne has already located him and decides to have some fun. Someone trusted with Mori's location cannot be allowed to turn traitor. Anyone daring to betray him better be willing to suffer the consequences, even if it's just talk.

Nocturne flies down and startles Dvis. He takes off again when Dvis goes to investigate. He does this several times making Dvis more than a little paranoid. Then he decides to add in some wounds when he does his startling. Finally his time has run out and he just takes his prey to the cave Mori had told him about.

"Dvis, you failed me." Nocturne says shaking his head as he enters the absolute blackness of the cave. Not even his keen vampiric sight can penetrate this darkness. "This will do nicely, yes indeed." He calls forth a flashlight to light his way. And it's a good thing he does because the path is treacherous and difficult to traverse even with light. He wonders how and why Mori used this cave. And he wonders how Mori could possibly know Dvis's weakness is being blind. He's not even going to have to tie Dvis up, and just by taking the light away Dvis's torture will already begin. He'll be nice and ready by the time he returns from his dinner with Mori.

"Be a good boy now, Dvis. I'll be back later to deal with your treachery. I thought you were supposed to be my best hunter? And yet a mere human, your queen by the way, outclassed you. She heard your treasonous speech and returned to tell me. I have to admit I doubted her abilities as a hunter, but after tonight not so much." Nocturne caresses the vampire's face as he croons. "I had hoped for better sport from you. Oh well, when I get back we'll have some real fun. But for now I am hungry." And with that Nocturne drinks enough to seriously weaken the vampire but not enough for him to die.

Nocturne shudders, "Well I'm glad I didn't offer your blood to Mori it tastes awful. Just what the hell do you eat? You know what never mind, enjoy the dark thinking about how my brother would be a far better king than I. One thing you've got right about him, he's far more vicious than I. He has no mercy. Of course that seems to be what you want in a king. Just think about living under a regime like that for the rest of your pathetic life. Enjoy."

Nocturne turns and leaves and before he even makes the cave entrance he hears the tormented screams of the hapless vampire. Nocturne smiles and returns back to the cabin and Mori.

"You already started the torture didn't you?" Mori states as they sit in the booth that Nocturne preferres. She's waiting for the nearly uncooked steak she'd ordered along with the other food.

"Mori, this isn't exactly the best discussion to have while you're trying to eat." Nocturne says trying to get her to change the subject.

Mori just gives him a flat look and doesn't say anything else.

Nocturne can't help the smirk that comes onto his face. "He's terrified of the dark. I don't mean normal night, that's our element but the absolute dark of the cave, well I left him screaming. And he thinks that my brother would be a better king than me. Save me from idiots and fools. That reminds me I need to eat to take away the taste of his foul blood. I don't know what he's been living off of but it tastes nasty." Nocturne shivers in disgust.

Just then a woman that has been trying to get his attention finally gets him to look at her. He smiles a brilliant smile. "It looks like someone just volunteered, excuse me Mori."

He is unprepared for her response. "No."

He takes his eyes of his chosen prey and turns them onto Mori, narrowed in anger. "What did you say?"

Mori returns his glare, "I said no. I won't have you hunt and kill the villagers. You gave them to me. You promised."

Nocturne softens his glare, "Look Mori, I've already eaten. I just need to get rid of this taste. Her blood will suffice for the task. I won't kill her and she'll enjoy it. I promise."

"No. You are supposed to be with me. I won't have you going off to eat and leaving me here like a loser whose date ditches her." Mori is furious although she hides her anger well.

Nocturne looks at her in surprise. "That's how you would see it? Then by all means I won't go to her." Nocturne smirks again. "I'll have her come here to join us. After all you shouldn't eat by yourself." Actually the more Nocturne thinks about it the more he likes the idea. Mori still doesn't care for the idea, but it's better than the other.

Nocturne easily recaptures the woman's gaze and compels her to join them. Shortly after she slides into the booth next to Nocturne. Soon after the waitress brings Mori's dinner. "Oh, will she be joining you? Her order is ready as well, I can just as easily serve it here as at her table." The waitress says unknowing of the woman's fate that night.

"No." Mori says flatly giving Nocturne a glare which he ignores.

"She won't be staying for long. However, I will be paying for her meal and make sure she has a glass of juice Orange would be best." Nocturne says to the waitress before sending her on her way.

"Thank you for paying for my meal, but it's not necessary for you to order me anything else." The blonde woman states, ignoring the looks of pity Mori is throwing her way.

"There's no helping stupidity." Mori mumbles, but it's loud enough the blonde throws her a dagger glare and Nocturne stifles a laugh.

"Go ahead Nocturne since I can't dissuade you." Mori says in an overly sweet voice.

She then turns her full attention to the food in front of her and eats automatically. The blood from the steak helps but when the aroma from of the woman's blood hits her that's when she can't seem to get enough of the steak.

The sounds of pleasure the woman makes are soft and only heard by the occupants in the booth, but it's enough to gain Mori's attention. By the time dinner for both of them is done Mori is more than ready to return to the cabin.

"I'll take Jerus tonight." Mori says as they reach the cabin.

Nocturne had already called for him. It's going to be a long night. The woman's pleasure had incited Mori, which in turn is causing him all kinds of pain. Damn, he'd rather be taking Mori to bed. He'll just have to take it out on Dvis.

"He'll be here shortly. Mori..." Nocturne starts. But before he can continue Mori turns away from him.

She goes to the bathroom to remove the makeup she rarely bothers with and Nocturne follows her in. He hisses when he sees the bruise she'd managed to hide from even his keen sight.

"Come here Mori." Nocturne orders in a voice she can't refuse.

She returns to his side and he lifts her face up and angles it to better see what he'd done earlier. He presses his lips together in anger. "Does it hurt?" His other hand hovers over the bruise not daring to touch the darkened skin.

Mori shrugs. "I've had worse. But it's been years so I'm no longer used to the pain."

Nocturne is surprised his blood from earlier hadn't healed her. She must have been in dire need of the blood for it to not have done so. "Permit me?" It was more of a demand than a request but Mori gives a slight nod, since his hold wouldn't permit her anything else.

The relief was instantaneous and Mori almost falls in relief. Nocturne looks at her his surprise well hidden. He'd thought he'd only given her a glancing blow but he'd fractured her cheek bone as well.

"Sire, my queen." Jerus says after knocking and entering the cabin. At the sight of Nocturne holding Mori up he thinks it might have been better to wait outside the cabin.

He goes to leave when Nocturne speaks. "Keep Mori occupied tonight Jerus. Mori discovered a traitor today and I need to deal with him properly. He should just about be ready for my questions." Nocturne can't help the cruelty that comes onto his face as he speaks.

"I understand Sire, but I failed last time are you sure that I am the one to help our queen this night? I don't wish to fail you and her again." He's not sure that he'd survive if he does fail.

"If you aren't able to distract her than none of my subjects will have any better response. Come Mori is more than ready to be relieved of my presence."

With those words Jerus walks forward and takes the unresisting woman into his arms. Once she is safely with Jerus, Nocturne turns and leaves without saying anything else.

Jerus waits until the door closes behind Nocturne then he takes Mori over to the bed and sets her down gently. "What happened my Queen?"

Mori smiles at Jerus tremulously as she replies, "I guess I said something I shouldn't have earlier today. He hit me. He promised he never would and he did, so I left. He called in some vampires to look for me. They couldn't find me, but I overheard two of them talking. One of them planned on telling Nocturne's brother about me and how to find me. Said Nocturne is too soft to be the king and his brother should be given the throne."

Jerus turns white at her words. "Should his brother take the throne it would be a disaster beyond belief. Do you know which vampire was talking such foolishness?"

"Yes, the vampire that was with him called him Dvis. Nocturne captured him and set him in a cave until he could return and deal with him." Mori says.

"And what about the scene that I intruded on? Sorry about that."

"Nocturne saw what he did to me and just healed it. There's nothing for you to be sorry about. Like he said I was more than ready to not have him near me." Mori was only being half truthful. The woman at the diner had gotten her sexual frustrated and Mori was more than willing to have Nocturne's presence if it meant no longer being frustrated.

"Mori, Nocturne says he's about to begin." Jerus is unprepared for the aggressive move Mori takes but is more than willing to follow her lead.

This time Jerus believes he was able to sufficiently distract Mori. She had never once acted like she was distressed, just well pleasured.

Nocturne enters the cabin as the sun starts peeking over the mountain. "Did it work Jerus?" Is the first thing he says as he finds Mori sleeping next to the vampire.

"I believe so Sire. At least she gave no sign of distress during the night." Jerus doesn't wish to elaborate not knowing just how much information his king wants to know.

"Was she pleasured? She deserves that much after the hell I put her through the day past." Nocturne asks pinching the bridge of his nose trying to stave off a headache. He still has a long way to go before he makes things right with Mori. If he can.

"If she wasn't she gave a really good imitation of it. I didn't ask her, I'm just going off of her reactions. And it seems like she was more than pleased by me this time."

"Thank you. Do you need to feed before you leave?" Nocturne asks.

"I used a great deal of my energy last night and it's damn hard to feed from her, so if that would be possible I'd be grateful." Jerus meant other than through Mori's blood and Nocturne just gives a slight smile, a bare lifting of the corners of his mouth.

"Don't I know it. The night I first met her I was in desperate need of feeding, caught in storm while flying had depleted me almost completely. I came here in desperation, but well it took actually feeding from her blood to restore me."

Nocturne rolls up his sleeve. "Come, eat, you deserve a reward for your services last night."

If Jerus had been able to distract Mori from what he'd done last night then he truly did deserve this reward. He'd lied to Mori when he told her he wouldn't be a nasty as with the others. He'd been even worse. Dvis had threatened Mori's very life by his traitorous intentions and Nocturne had no intention or desire to forgive him or go lightly on him.

When Jerus finishes, "What do you wish for a reward Jerus?"

"Sire," Jerus is shocked he didn't think he'd earned a reward and drinking from the king is considered a great honor. To be asked for another reward to be granted was a great honor indeed. "I am truly honored by your favor, but truly I don't feel that my services have merited such great honor. Especially since I had failed both you and my queen earlier." Jerus keeps his shocked face down towards the ground as he speaks not wishing to offend Nocturne even further.

"The fact that you were able to keep her distracted while I interrogated the prisoner means that you have indeed earned another reward." Nocturne forces Jerus to look at him. "Ah, I see, you are afraid to voice the reward you wish for. Terrance will be here soon and then you will come with me and you will get your reward." Nocturne says and seals the promise with a kiss.

To say that Jerus was shocked would be an understatement. It is well known that although Nocturne has been with vampire's in the past his preference has always been females. And as good as a lover as Jerus is with the females his preference has always been males, more especially vampires.
