Jester From Leicester
I saw you play the other day,
You weren't at your best, far from it.
I remember the nostalgic day,
I watched you on the TV,
Beating the unstoppable rocket.
I was so happy for you,
You rose to the top and won so much,
But I turned to the other side,
Saw you as a heel.
I cheered for your demise every match for years,
Then one day I learned to let it go.
I matured, it was silly of me, I admit,
I recognized your brilliance,
But now you're no longer at your best.
Deep in, I wish I cheered in those golden years,
Instead of being a fool.
I know it's silly, we never met,
And never will,
But you're an inspiration,
Beating the darkest times
and reaching the top.
I salute you and hope to meet you someday,
Cheers for the best,
You jester from Leicester.
