Clenching my hand on the door knob,
I opened the hollow void.

I scanned through it;
The dark place was filled with cobwebs,
Just like I had left it.

Taking my first steps,
I felt like I was on the moon.

Then a bright light shone,
Revealing the broken tables and
Scattered pictures of a previous life.

I touched them and they gave off an old,
Uneasy feeling - something forgotten that
Hadn't been touched for decades.

Then a familiar rooster's call was heard,

I'm home again.
