Comfort

The next day, the sun was shining again, so the trio lounged outside after their showers and chores. It was day four, Comfort. All she wanted out of the day was to be happy and comfortable as her period finished, so she read a book while the boys built a small fortress out of tree branches and moss. After lunch, Aunt Molly was in such a good mood that she suggested everyone run to town and get some ice cream. It was Sunday, so everyone was home for the day. The whole family packed into the car and headed to their favorite ice cream shop. The trio each ordered vanilla but suited to their preferences. Tikki got two scoops of plain vanilla in a cup. Fred got an ice cream Sunday. George got a vanilla cone covered thickly with sprinkles.

Fred spotted someone while they were eating ice cream at the tables outside and waved. Tikki twisted around in her seat to look and saw Keenan jogging towards them. "Good afternoon, Weasleys," he said when he reached them. "What's the occasion?" He nodded towards their ice cream.

Tikki shrugged with a beaming smile. "It's a beautiful day!"

"That it is." Keenan smiled back. "What have you two rascals been up to?" He glanced at the boys.

"That would be 'three rascals.'" Fred corrected him.

"On account of Tikki being as rascally as us," said George with a grin.

Keenan raised his eyebrows. "Oh, well I humbly apologize, my lords and ladies. It seems I have made an egregious oversight in neglecting to include the lovely lady. Please forgive a handsome dullard for he has no change to spare to buy back his redemption." He made a dramatic bow. Tikki laughed as he made his speech, applauding him lightly at the end.

"Only if you share some of those good looks," said Fred jokingly.

"Yeah, it's not fair that you have so much," George added.

Keenan knelt on the ground, looking up at them. "My lords, I fear am unable to distribute my dashing comeliness. Pray tell, is there not something in thee that can spare me thy forgiveness?"

The twins looked at each other and shrugged while their family laughed at the other boy's antics. "You could ask Tikki," they said together.

Keenan turned his pleading eyes onto the brunette. "My lady, I offer my sincerest apologies and beg for thy utmost forgiveness, otherwise I fear I shall be beheaded by thine horrors of cousins."

Tikki snorted, then covered it up by clearing her throat and said in her most regal tone, "I cannot allow such a rugged peasant to have his head removed, therefore I grant you my forgiveness and pray you do not slander me again."

"I thank thee, my lady, oh I thank thee." Keenan bowed many times, backing up until he hit a light pole, then he spun around it with a grin and returned to them.

Tikki laughed with her cousins. "That was hilarious! Are you an actor?"

"It's a hobby," he said.

"Have you been in many shows?"

"I have. I've led in many of them as well. That's one of the reasons Fred and George tease me about my looks so much. People don't want to admit it but looks are important in theatre. I've been Phoebus from the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Prince Charming from Cinderella, Romeo from Romeo and Juliet, as well as several more leads. I've been in theatre for a while now." He chuckled.

"I did theatre when I was little, but I didn't like it enough to stick around," Tikki confessed, finishing off her ice cream.

Keenan nodded, putting his hands in his pockets. There was a moment of awkward silence before he spoke again. "Since you are in town already, do you want to play a bit of football?"

The twins glanced at their mother for confirmation before agreeing. However, Tikki shook her head. "Not me. I do not want to play football today, but you guys go on. This will give Ginny the chance to paint my nails—unless she wants to play as well?" The redheaded girl frantically shook her head.

"Why don't we all play a bit of football?" suggested Uncle Arthur, glancing at his boys. "Percy, Ron, Harry?"

Ron and Harry eagerly agreed while Percy was a bit slower about it. Molly decided to take the girls home while the men stayed to play. Tikki hugged the twins goodbye and the last she heard them discussing was teams. As she got in the car, she let out a relaxed sigh.

"Long day, dearie?" Aunt Molly asked, glancing at her.

"Not really. It's nice to have a bit of quiet though."

"Tell me about it." Ginny rolled her eyes.

When they got home, Ginny set to work painting Tikki's nails. She even added a layer of sparkles on top of the lovely red she had colored them. Molly drove back to town two hours later to bring the men home while Tikki and Ginny continued chatting about meaningless things.

"We're home!" sang the twins when they slid through the door.

"Hey!" Tikki called cheerfully, not moving from where she was on the floor with her hands spread before her while Ginny covered her nail polish in a clear coat. The boys crouched beside her, giving the girl a double shoulder hug. "Careful of the nails!" she warned.

"You mean these nails?" Fred pointed.

"Lovely color they are," said George, edging his fingers closer.

"Don't. You. Dare," Tikki hissed, giving him a death glare.

"Come on, guys, I've worked so hard on these," complained Ginny.

Grinning, George retracted his hand as Tikki asked, "how was the football game?"

"Ron, Harry, Fred, and I beat Dad, Percy and Keenan twice," said Fred. "Keenan is bloody awful at football.

"Yeah," George agreed, "I can't believe he suggested playing it."

The brunette shrugged. "Just because you're not good at something doesn't mean you can't enjoy it."

"Kind of like you on a broom," said Fred teasingly.

"Rude." Tikki wrinkled her nose at him but kept her hands very still as Ginny finished up. "I've got to wait for this to dry for about an hour. Do you guys have any handless activities you want to do?"

They played a trivia game for the rest of the afternoon, and then after supper they listened to Arthur read a short book. Even though they went to bed a little early, Tikki, Fred, and George talked for a few hours. When they finally went to bed, they arranged themselves so everyone was lying on someone's stomach in a weird almost circular shape. It was surprisingly comfortable despite the small bed.

"Night, Tikki," the boys said.

"Night, guys." She sighed, snuggled slightly into Fred's stomach, and fell asleep with a small smile shining on her face.

A nice vote always makes me feel comfortable. Vote for Tikki!
