A Complicated Relationship: Ch. 21

Seth’s Pov:

I sat outside on my parents’ porch watching the pack kids playing ball down the road. I stretched feeling the tightness in my back, it still hurt from Eli throwing me through the wall and then being slammed in the ridge, even the marks on my neck were a little visible. Which was a little amazing since it happened four days ago I should have healed the next day but I still hurt. My gaze moved from the kid to my shoes, I could still see Eli’s hazel eyes change to that bright yellow. They looked like he was ready to murder me which sent a shiver down my spine, what is happening to my brother? Ever since that day he has been a-wall. A pair of shiny black shoes stepped in my field of vision. I looked up to find my dad standing there with his eyebrows drawn together staring at me.

“Seth, What happened to your neck?” he asked. I swallowed as I stared back at him, should I answer that? But who was I to ignore the alpha’s question, I couldn’t lie to him.

“uhh… eli” I muttered looking back down at my feet,  hoping he didn’t hear me but our impeccable ears couldn’t miss a pin drop a mile away.

“Eli?’ he asked confused. I nodded not moving my gaze. In a flash his hand came grabbing my chin and forcing it up so he had a better view of my neck. I closed my neck gritting my teeth. I hated this!!! I felt weak, and stupid. I heard my fathers’ rumbling growl, feeling it deep in my bones. He released my chin and began pacing. I watched him in awe; he looked so frustrated and confused.

“What’s wrong?” I asked him my voice low. He turned to me with worried eyes, which I have never seen on my fathers’ face, he’s always so calm and collected.

“I don’t know what to do” my dad confessed to me. I frowned at him till he sighed heavily and plopped downed next to me on the porch step, his arms leaning on his thighs staring at the kids that I was just staring at a few minutes ago. I watched him warily.

“What’s up dad?” I asked. He shook his head but turned to me.

“I’m sorry that he did that to you, he’s not himself right now.” Was all he said which confused me. What did he mean he’s not himself?

“What do you mean?”

“I can’t really explain to you yet I have do more research.” My head snapped to him.

“RESEARCH!!!!!”  He opened his mouth to answer but closed it back.

“Where is your brother Seth?” he asked neatly avoiding my question.

“I don’t know I haven’t seen him in days, he hasn’t come to school or been home. I ‘m a little worried about him dad!” I stood up and stepped in front of him, looking him in the eye, which was a dangerous thing even if he is my dad, but I didn’t care my brother was in trouble. “Please tell me what is wrong with my brother. I have to know!!!” I exclaimed begging him with everything in me for him to tell me the truth and not some false crap to make me feel better. He looked up at me with surprise for a while; so I was rewarded with another heavy sigh.

“All I can really know about what’s happening with your brother is-”

“ALPHA!!!” and to my annoyance the beta came running up the house with angry expression. Dad shot up and stepped around me placing his hand on my shoulder.

“Seth why don’t you go inside and help your mom with dinner.” He asked but I knew it was a silent order. I sighed, nodding before walking inside but I wasn’t giving up on finding out what the hell was wrong with my brother!

Angie’s Pov:

Today was Saturday and I hadn’t seen Eli at school all week. I was starting to get really worried, today was our date but I haven’t seen him or talked to him. I wasn’t sure if we were going to do it today which made me kind of disappointed. I really wanted to go. I sat on my bed looking at myself through my dresser mirror across the room; I was dressed in jeans and a GOOD STUFF!!! T-shirt; my hair was down. It had grown passed my middle back and I was thinking of cutting it back to my shoulders like I usually had it but whatever… WHAT IF HE DOESN’T COME!! Listen to me I’m acting like an obsessed little girl. UGH!!! I fell back on my bed looking up at the ceiling. Was he alright? I mean he hasn’t even tried to call. IM GOING CRAZY!!!!!!

There was a knock at the door, “come in” I said still staring at the ceiling.

“What are you doing?” Drew’s voice meet my ears so I turned my head to see him closing the door behind him and making his way towards me. I sighed deeply going back to the gazing at the ceiling.

“Huh” my bed shifted as he sat down close to my head and putting his face in my view. “Wants wrong with you?” he asked me, I shook my head. “Really, Well I think you lying to me” he said raising an eyebrow at me. I shut my eyes, not saying a thing hoping he’d let it go. I stayed like that for a few minutes but I could still feel him hovering over me. Slowly I opened on eye cautiously and there he was giving me a look that said ‘I’m not buying it’. I tried to turn away but he grabbed my shoulders and kept me on my back while he was looking at me upside down.

“Ang, I know there’s something wrong, you’re feeling anxious, concerned and impatient. Empath remember.” I stared at him; it was weird hearing him say that. Even me, to know that we were witches but ever since I met Eli I couldn’t deny the impossible anymore, plus I did see myself in action the other day when I healed him. “Is it that guy?” he said cutting my train of thought. My eyes widened, CRAP!!! I didn’t want him to know I was acting like this for some boy, but to me he’s not some boy he’s more important to me than that. He was my mate. There was so much more stuff I needed to learn about this.

“It is, isn’t it? Angie, your fretting over a boy?” he frowned a little but soon a smirk quickly took place. “Well I thought I’d never see the day. Now I can be all brotherly and tell him to not to break your heart or I’ll castrate him.” And he said that with a huge grin. I giggled a little.

“I’m sure”

“OH GOD!!! She speaks, it’s a miracle!!!” dramatically raising his arms up. I laughed as I sat up.

“You’re so stupid” I told him watching him fake like he was hurt.

“Ouch!” he said putting his hand over his heart. “That was hurtful, ang” he said smiling but soon it faded and he was looking at me with a serious expression.

“What?”

“Is it Eli?” he asked staring intently at me. His green eyes were focused on me and eager to know the answer. I nodded as my mode changed bleakly. I looked over at the clock and saw as the clock turned to 5:00 which means it going to get dark soon. ‘He’s not coming’ I told myself.

“Do you think that’s a good idea to have a relationship with that guy?” my eyes snapped to his.

“What does that mean?” I asked offended. What is with my family and their bad feelings towards Eli? Drew quickly raised his arms in surrender.

“Hey, hey, hey I was just asking a question.” We were quiet for a while before he broke the silence. “But really Angie, I’m just thinking about what grams said and wondering if it’s a good idea that you get involved with him. If what grams says is true he’s a werewolf, which is kind of weird to believe, then our kind as she says is at war with his.” He took a hold of my hand and met my gaze. “I just don’t want you falling for something that will hurt you in the end.”

“Are you crazy? He would never hurt me! Do you remember that time that he saved me from being kidnapped? He saved me drew; he’s as good as they get. He’s my mate” there I go saying that word; It was starting to come easier to me. I heard him sigh; he ran his hands through his hair with frustration.

“I get that and I’m grateful for that, truly I am. I’m just looking out for you ang, your my little sister and you mean so much to me.” His hand tightened.

“I understand but you’re going to have to trust me on this, he’s not going to hurt me.” He nodded, letting me win this won. “And I’m only three minutes away from you” which caused us both to laugh.

“Ok, ok. Oh, what is this mate thing you keep talking about?” he asked. I thought how I would describe something to him I wasn’t even 100% sure about.

“Well… he said for werewolves that is, there is only one person in this world for them. That person is like their other half. They are called mates. So basically I’m Eli’s other half.” His eyes grew wide as I explained.

“Wow man that’s intense, so can never go out with anyone else his whole life?” I shook my head.

“Nope, he’s stuck with me” I laughed.

“So you’re like Evelyn aren’t you?” he asked.

“You have no idea.” I muttered to myself but he caught it.

“What do you mean/” he asked frowning.

“It turns out that Eli to is an alpha just like kaydoe since he met me.” Shock was all i saw on his face.

“WHAT?!!!” he exclaimed. “Wow” all I could do was nod to that. With a relived sigh I was glad to get that off my chest. Laying back down I turned my head so I could still see his face.

“What did you come up here for?” I asked finally realizing that he came in here for something. He looked confused for a second,

“Well I could feel you stressing up here so I came to see what was up… OH and I think that Eli is on the phone for you.” I stared at him in shock before what he said registered and I shot up from my bed hitting the back of his head all in the same move.

“WHAT?! What the hell didn’t you tell me this before tard!!!” I yelled running from the room towards the living room phone.

“Well you emotions were a little more important to me than Eli!!!” he yelled back.

I just rolled my eyes. “Whatever!!!” I raced to the phone; I saw that it was off the hook. GOD he’s been waiting forever he probably hung up already. Quickly I picked it up and hurriedly put it to my ear.

“Hello” I said breathlessly hoping that he was on the other end.

“Hey” the sound of his voice came through sexy as eve. Thank god he didn’t hang up.

“I am so sorry about that!!! My brother just told me that you were on the phone that nube.”  I said. He chuckled,

“No really it’s alright, I just called to see if you still wanted to go on that date?” he asked. I nodded quickly but mentally slapped myself, he can’t see me, DUH.

“Yeah I would still love to go.”

“Cool I’ll be there in a few k”

“Yeah”

“Alright see you”

“K” I said before hanging up, “Wait!!!” the line was already dead I didn’t get to ask where we were going.
