One Of Those Boys.
FreeTheBoy not every guy is a stereotypical male. This one is for those ones who get generalised and shaped into sooner thing they aren't.
I am just one of those guys
You ignore on the streets.
Just another average guy
You regard suspiciously.
Just one of those people
Who loves hogging sweets.
I am just another little boy
Who isn't taken seriously.
Teachers assume I am notorious
That I skip school everyday.
Girls think I am a big flirt
Who targets every single woman.
But I am just another little boy
Who hates what they say.
Just another lame stereotype
Basking under the sun.
Just one of those boys
Who believes in love.
Just one of those people
Who enjoys a good book.
Not so different from you
When push comes to shove.
Just another boy out there
Who worries about his look.
I don't wear any leather
And I love my mom to death.
I don't always play sports,
And I am sometimes sensitive.
I am someone who runs
Only to end up out of breath.
So please understand, just accept,
Your standards are subjective.
I may not be mysterious,
I am an open book.
I don't play with feelings,
It is never about a bet.
I am not so shallow,
I don't care how you look.
I do care about your laughter,
To be beyond someone you met.
I don't have those six packs,
I am barely five foot eight.
I don't have million numbers
Ringing up my phone.
Sometimes, around holidays,
I might get overweight.
Even I can get emotional,
Even I can feel alone.
So stop telling me what to be
Stop generalizing every guy.
We are more than just nametags,
More than just stereotypes.
Everything you hear about us
Is probably just a lie.
So don't call us all tigers
Just because we have the stripes.
A/N:
Shoutout: follow the Free The Boy campaign! (Tagged in the very beginning of this wonderful poem. Yes, wonderful. I am allowed to praise myself).
This is just a kicking sign that I am still alive and still writing.
Toodles!
