The Trauma pt. 1
another Haikyu x TPN
Hinata stands from his desk, slowly packing his things away. The gym that Hinata usually shares with his team is being checked for safety so volleyball has been cancelled for the evening. He usually would hate this but after the memories he relived last night, he's happy to go home to his foster parents and let them finally take him out Ice Skating. Anything to take his mind off Norman and Ray and Mother.
Ray left to live with Tsukishima's family when they finally made it to civilization at the age of 13. The two seemed to connect with each other, both having that salty side. Because of all his studying, he's at Shiratorizawa and is living in the dorms. Though Hinata had visited Ray many times, he never got to know Tsukishima until this year when they both joined the volleyball club. The other children including Gilda and Don have gone to an adoption centre. When Hinata isn't playing volleyball and is allowed to, he'll venture out an hour and a half by bike to visit the rest of his family.
When Hinata finally makes it home, he's greeted with the lovely smell of Pork Cutlet Bowl. Too tired to be excited, he slumps into the modern kitchen and onto a bar stool. "Get your dirty face off the table," Yurio says with a nip in his thick Russian accent. Groaning, Hinata slowly lifts his head from the table to stare into the sharp ice blue eyes of his uncle figure. "Snap out of it Spring Boy," he orders before returning to the stove top.
"Shoyo, how was school?" Yuri asks while emerging from the lounge area.
"It was boring and volleyball was cancelled because of stupid compulsory safety checks," he says with aggravation.
"You look exhausted. Did you have another nightmare last night?" Yuri asks softly. Hinata doesn't respond, just turns his head away from the two and at the steam from the pot. "Are you sure you don't want a therapist? It seems to be getting worse by the day."
A shiver runs down Hinata's spine. When he was in the shitty foster care system (he wasn't in an adoption centre because they didn't have any room), he stayed with a family who were nice and cared for him. At that time Hinata was willing to go to therapy as everything was too much to handle. When he finally opened up about his experiences in the Plant, the woman thought he was delusional and told his foster parents everything. They sent him back after a week of teasing him about his delusional thinking.
"No way! I refuse to go to therapy," Hinata snaps.
"It was just a thought," Yuri mutters.
"I'm heading to the rink!" Yurio exclaims, throwing his apron across the room and turning off the gas. He strides out of the room.
"I have to head off to. A local competition is coming up and Victor wants to choreograph it like the good old days. Will you be alright by yourself?" Yuri explains.
"I'll be fine, Yuri. Don't worry yourself! Go and have fun with Victor," Hinata says.
Smiling, Yuri says goodbye.

After volleyball practice and narrowly making it to class on time, Hinata's already present bad feeling in his stomach worsens. Everyone pulls out their notebooks and prepares for the teacher to begin.
"Does anyone know anything about the agreement signed 1000 years ago? To split humans and the demons up?" The teacher asks. Hinata's heartbeat increases, pumping harshly against his chest.
"Wasn't it to intervene with the fighting between the two?" a random kid asks.
"Correct. Demons and Humans were at war for a long time, both hunting each other. We had the upper hand, killing more demons than they were for us. But as time went by, everyone was getting sick of the fighting and the constant fear so they signed an agreement that neither would hurt each other. In this, humans were harvested in the demon world to keep them satisfied. No one has come in from the demon world and vis-versa. We don't know if the demons are still out there but it's highly unlikely."
"It sounds so fake. Ar eyou sure this isn't just another folktale or something, Sensei?" a boy snickers.
Hinata balls his hands into fists. Having gone through everything he had been through and to hear people say that it's not true hurts Hinata.
"No one knows for sure if it's a folktale but entering their side would be deadly so no one has voyaged over the other side of the wall. There are tours around the wall. We'll be going on one next week so sign these papers," the teacher says and hands out forms.
You get the gist. I just want to get to the angst and stuff. I honestly don't care about the quality of this.
A week later
Hinata takes a deep breath as he climbs onto the bus. Kids joke around about the two worlds as if it's all fake and shouldn't be believed. Hinata knows better. Escaping from that place was torture.
The bus begins moving as does His stomach. He knows there will be pictures of the flower that was used on Conny and Norman. Tears begin forming in his eyes at the thought of never being able to see them again, and worse, having to go visit the place he hates.

The bus comes to a stop in front of the towering wall standing a whooping 1000 feet high. Everyone looks at it excitedly while Hinata stares at it in horror. After filing off the bus they head towards the wall where a large timeline is spread out across it at eye-level.
"It is said that people on the other side are harvested for the demons," a mysterious black hooded guy says to the group.
A few boys and girls snicker around Hinata. "Now how do you know that's true?" a boy asks jokingly.
The man looks up with cold grey eyes and dark blue strands hanging over his face. "Because I believe in the history books...I'm William Minerva by the way," he says.
Hinata's eyes widen. "M-Minerva?" he whispers.
"What about it, kid?" Speechless with finally knowing who supplied the bunker to his family, he chokes on the air and begins having a coughing fit. "Woah, calm down."
