Dragons Love Pt. 1

This is stupid.

Fawn breathes heavily as she struggles to stay awake. Blood seeps out of her torn dark sapphire scales. She limps heavily across the stone floor. She struggles to keep her eyes open as she goes. Fawn stumbles into a wall and whimpers at the collision of her large gash on her side. She continues limping through the cave though, determined to find a spot to sleep through the night.

Fawn lies down on her good side and stares at the wall, her wings cocooning herself from any enemies that may come for her. Her eyelids slowly droop and her vision becomes blurry. Before she knew it, she was out cold.

The air around Fawn had changed from stale to warm. She slowly opens her eyes and looks at her surroundings. She is still in the same cave, though it is brighter as if another dragon has lit a fire. She uncurls her wings and tilts her head upwards only to see a beautiful white dragon with two long spikes at the back of her head.

The other dragon turns around to face fawn and says, "are you all right?"

Fawn tries to push herself up but immediately falls back down. "What do you think?"

The white dragon walks towards Fawn and towers over her sore body. "I'm Minx Nettlewisp. What's yours?"

Fawn slants her eyes and looked into Minx's. "Fawn Zircon. What's in it to you?" She hisses.

"I was the one who saved your life. A thank you would be appreciated," she indicates to the other.

Fawn looks down and notices her wound on her left foreleg has been licked clean as well as the gash on her side. "Thanks... I guess," she mumbles out. She feels helpless lying on the ground, unable to do anything. She hates it.

"Would you like some bird?" Minx's asks.

Fawn notices the aching in her stomach. "Yeah, sure."

Minx trots away and to a dead bird. She rips out a piece with her sharp fangs and throws it towards Fawn who gobbles it up quickly.

Fawn carefully sits up and extends her wings shakily as they release the tension built up from the past few hours of being curled. She purrs in relief. Minx takes a seat in front of her and stares into Fawns' onyx eyes, making her heart flutter.

"So, why were you in my cave?" She asks.

"My Weyr had a clash in with another and a little brawl emerged," she simplifies.

"All right," Minx replies.

"I should be leaving now," Fawn says and tries to stand on all fours even though the pain flares throughout her body. Minx rests her pawn onto Fawn's shoulder as comfort.

"Don't bother just yet. You're injured and need to rest," she tells Fawn. Fawn stares at Minx intentively, trying to find the hint of disappointment in her eyes that she has grown so used to seeing. She sits back down and stares at Minx.

An empty silence fills the cave as the two awkwardly sit in front of each other. Minx is letting out weird little noises while Fawn is thinking about why she was saved. "Why did you help me?" She asks after a while.

Minx looks at her, shocked. "What do you mean?"

"I meant what I said," she growls sorrowfully.

"Well... I saw you in my territory all beaten and unlike most dragons, I helped you because I felt bad for you," she tells her.

"Sure..." Fawn's trust issues start to come to the surface.

"Are you all good?" Minx asks worriedly.

"What makes you think that you can press into my personal life?" Fawn asks sourly.

"I didn't mean to intrude."

"Well you did."

They sit in silence for a long time, not knowing what to say to each other. They look around the cave nervously though Fawn's eyes always end up drifting over to the beautiful white dragon opposite her. She licks the wound on her leg while continuing to look into Minx's beautiful blue eyes. 'Why are you so god damn good looking?' Fawn thinks to herself, annoyed with the other.

"Is there something on my face?" Minx asks, slightly embarrassed.

Fawn looks at her confused as to why she'd ask that. "No. Why would there be anything on your face?" She asks sourly.

"Well you were staring at me so I just assumed..." the other trails off.

"Well you don't."

The cave is once again filled with a silence though this time it was light instead of heavy. Fawn lies down to try and get some sleep again.
