"Want to go for a swim in the lake?" Jake's devilish smirk lit up the dimmed room. His fingertips traced my arm—a soft smile formed on my lips.

"I'll race you out there," I said, smirking. His eyes trailed to mine as we both jumped off the bed, laughing. We bolted for the door. Slipping out, we raced toward the lake.

The moonlight glistened over the lake, casting moonbeam shadows along the water that sparkled brighter as we got closer. Jake grabbed me, causing me to tumble forward into the water. I giggled as he tickled my sides. I could barely breathe, let alone laugh, and he knew how ticklish I was. I pushed him playfully and jumped to my feet.

Running farther into the lake through the mud and rocks, I threw off my shirt and stripped off my shorts, throwing them his way. "Come on," I laughed through my chattering teeth.

He laughed, pulling off his shirt. His pants slipped from his waist and pulled free from his ankles. He eyed me with a cocky smirk, slowly entering the lake. He swam over and splashed me playfully. I laughed and splashed him back. His body brushed mine.

"Are you cold?" he whispered.

"Yeah." His cool breath brushed my skin.

"Let me keep you warm." He pulled me against his body. His lips brushed mine.

"Is that better?" he asked. Jake's hazel eyes stared into my brown ones.

I smiled. "A little. Can you try that thing again?"

"You mean this?" Jake wrapped his right arm around my neck. His chest touched mine. His left hand traced my chin as he leaned in, his lips pressed against mine.

"Yeah, that's what I meant."

I smiled, leaning in to kiss him again. "Jake, I love you."

He smiled. "I love you too," he cooed. His breath brushed my neck.

I looked up at the sky. It was shining with stars. "Whatcha looking at?" he asked. His eyes trailed to mine.

"Oh, I think that's the big dipper," he said, pointing to the sky. I grinned, bobbing as my eyes danced in the lights above.

"Yeah, and that over there is the little dipper." I pointed to the sky.

"Are you sure? I think that's just a cluster of stars."

"No, that's the little dipper."

"No, I think that's just a cluster of stars."

"Are you sure?" I asked.

He smirked. "I'm kidding," he said. His lips brushed my forehead.

I smiled and leaned against his chest. "Jake, never leave me."

"I promise I will never leave you," he said, laying his head on mine.
