Anchored- Part 1
Tommy stood at the bow of the ship, examining the landscape jubilantly. The sun was dropping in the sky, pulling along many different colors with it as it faded into darkness, and the moon rose in its place. Wilbur came up next to him, giving him a side hug. The grin on Tommy's face kept the smile on Wil's face from wavering as he stared out at the dark water. They had been on the ship for hours, and it seemed like they were in the center of an ocean. Wilbur wasn't exactly a fan of the water; he took pleasure in the solid land and found that he didn't like the fact that he knew more about space than he did the whole ocean. Wilbur knocked away those thoughts as Tommy beamed up at him. Wil smiled down at him, ruffling the boy's fluffy yellow hair that glinted as the last bit of sunlight reflected against it. Techno snuck up behind them, pouncing and nearly making Wil jump overboard. Philza came over, adjusting his hat and gazing fondly at the boys. He unfurled a blanket he had previously had rolled up under the crook of his arm with him and spread it over the shoulders of Tommy and Wilbur, telling them to hold on to it so the breeze wouldn't carry it away. The crisp evening wind wound itself around them, its frigid air picking up under the blanket and making it flutter with it. Techno's pink hair seemed to do the same, and his velvety cape flapped with it as well. Phil squinted out at the water, holding down his hat just before it got blown away.
"The wind is really picking up; we should head inside," Phil suggested, looking at the clouds rolling in. He frowned slightly at them. Wilbur and Techno agreed, backing up away from the rail. Wil stopped when he realized Tommy hadn't budged. Tommy just kept grinning as the wind embraced him; he had never felt more alive. Philza smiled warmly, combating the cold. "Come on," he gently urged him, "It's getting colder." Tommy turned to look at him, his grin slightly fading.
Wilbur tightened the blanket around the younger boy, "We can come back out tomorrow morning, don't worry." Tommy reluctantly agreed, walking in harmony with Wilbur as they all followed Philza back to their cabin. They crossed paths with many passengers on the way, not really bothering them. Some gave them peculiar glances, while others simply ignored them. They reached their cabin, going inside as the cozy air greeted them.
Phil sighed contentedly, walking over to one of the two beds that were in the room. He flopped down, grabbing the hat on his head to throw it on the nightstand in between the beds. The other boys shuffled around, getting things out of their suitcases to get ready for bed. Tommy was the first in the restroom, cleaning his teeth promptly (I have no idea what braces are like, so I put "cleaning" instead of "brushing" because I think you have to do something special with them. Forgive me if I'm wrong ;-;). Techno unfastened his cape, draping it on a small couch he prepared to sleep on. He fluffed the cushions and pillows so they'd be more inviting, then lay himself down on the couch. His feet went over the edge a bit, but he didn't mind. Wilbur made sure his guitar was nestled safely in its case before setting it carefully against the wall. He grabbed a book he had in his bag about music theory and plopped himself on the other bed next to Philza's. Tommy came out of the restroom and sat down next to Wilbur, quickly burrowing under the covers. Phil had turned off his lamp, turning on his side to doze off into a peaceful slumber. Wilbur smiled softly at Tommy, setting his book down on the nightstand and turning off the lamp. Techno had already passed out, his cape over him like a blanket.
Wilbur turned his back to Tommy, almost asleep. The ship lulled them all as it cradled them on the waves. A low creak of metal and howling wind pushing against the ship made a small, scared whisper rouse him, "Are you awake, Wilbur?" Wil turned to Tommy, barely able to make out his outline in the darkness of the night. No light came through the singular small window that was placed close to the couch Techno was asleep on.
"Yeah, I'm here," Wilbur answered quietly, not wanting to wake the others, "What's wrong?" Tommy racked his brain for a reply. He didn't know what was wrong; he was just... scared. He opened his mouth, then closed it. Tears burned his eyes in frustration and fear. He tried to hide under the covers again, but he stopped at Wilbur's voice, "Tommy, what's wrong?" Wil whispered again, more concerned. Tommy stayed silent, shivering through the warmth of the room. Wilbur sighed, pulling the boy into a hug. Tommy melted into his embrace, his fear vanishing, knowing his brother would protect him from anything.

It was almost noon before they all woke up. Phil was the first awake, and the first thing he saw was Wilbur holding Tommy in a hug. He smiled fondly at the boys, fixing their blanket over them. Techno's cape had found its way on top of Techno's face, and Phil chuckled quietly. He pulled the cape off the pink-haired boy's face, causing the boy to be startled awake. His panicky eyes caught onto Phil's, and he immediately relaxed.
"What time-" Phil shushed him, pointing to Wilbur and Tommy. Techno grinned lightly and nodded, speaking in a whisper, "What time is it?" Philza put his wrist in the light of the window and looked at the watch that was fastened to his arm. It read 11:45. Techno nodded again, sitting up and re-fastening his cape around himself. The two walked around the room delicately, getting ready for the day as they waited for Wilbur and Tommy to wake up.
Wilbur was awakened by the small chatter between Techno and Phil, and the first thing he saw was Tommy clinging onto him. Wil tried to sit up carefully to not disturb Tommy, but the boy immediately tightened his hug on Wilbur. Wil's heart dissolved, and he hugged the boy back reassuringly. Tommy opened his eyes a little bit, slowly waking up. Wilbur messed with the boy's fluffy hair, waiting for him to fully wake up. When he did, he looked up at Wil.
"Oh," he said almost inaudibly, slowly pushing himself away from the other. He was afraid Wilbur would be annoyed. Instead, Wilbur realized he was awake and sat up, smiling at Tommy and ruffling his hair. Tommy grinned sleepily, rubbing his eyes and sliding off the bed. Phil and Techno noticed they were awake and walked over, Techno smirking at Tommy.
"It's noon now; you could miss going up top," Techno teased the boy, talking about going to the bow of the ship. Tommy shooed away the comment, but he did pick up his pace so they would leave the room quicker. They waited for Wilbur, then headed out, the golden sunlight presenting their delight.
~~~~~
Hi! I've never been on a ship before, so I have no idea how this stuff works. I've been on a ferry, but it's not the same thing. I took a virtual ship tour, so I understand it better than I would have if I had not taken it.
Also, I already have an idea for the next story, so you shouldn't have to wait as long as you might have for this story. I'm sorry it took so long to get out ;-;
I've been listening to a lot of Wilbur's music recently, and I was reading the comments (on YouTube). Some of the comments made me really concerned for him. I'm sure a lot of them aren't factual, but it still bothers me. Does anyone have any for-sure information on the meanings or just anything on his songs? Also, you should definitely look at his songs because they're amazing. (My favorite is "For Memories")
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter; it was quite fun to write. Thank you for reading! I appreciate it so much! <3 :)
