Ok, so, I wrote this poem a little differently from all my previous ones... I tried to make the format a bit more like a song I guess? Either way, it's not a format I've tried before, so if you could let me know if it works, and if it's alright, I'd appreciate it! Hope you enjoy and thanks for reading :D

It’s been a while now

Since I last saw your face

But I still remember every little detail

And I remember the feeling of your embrace;

Your smile, your kindness,

The way you’re different from everyone else,

And just thinking about you,

Oh, my heart does melt.

Please, come out of my dreams,

And into my life instead.

I refuse to let you

Continue to be only in my imagination;

I’ve waited too long,

I’m out of patience.

I need you here with me;

Need to look into your eyes,

I need to hold you

Without you wearing your dream disguise.

I woke up this morning.

You’d been with me again.

It had been as it was;

It had been like it had been then.

We’d been laughing, messing about;

We’d been enjoying each other’s company.

I’d been leaning into you and

You’d been comfy.

Please, come out of my dreams,

And into my life instead.

You can’t just leave me

The way that you did.

Please tell me you can’t,

Heavens forbid.

I long to have my fingers caress your cheeks again;

Long to have my arms around you once more.

Long to look into those eyes of yours,

Those eyes that I so adore.

The safety I felt in your arms,

Like nothing could hurt me while you were around.

I no longer felt lost;

I felt like I’d been found.

No matter how vivid my dreams,

They couldn’t match anything real,

Couldn’t match anything we’d do together;

They just intensify the way I feel.

Nothing could match you being in my life

So please, come out of my dreams.
