"My Cupid"
The theme of this poem is love also. This poem was actually supposed to come before "Adonis" but I forgot. Because "Cupid" is about falling in love and finding Mr.Right. While "Adonis" is all about heartbreak and having my heart shattered. Also, I'm sure you've noticed how I quote some words in my poems. It's just like I'm referring a poem in another poem, except for Failed promise cause the words in quotations are just like dialogues. "Cupid" is also a classic poem, it refers to the mystical angel that shoots love arrows.
Hope you enjoy it
Here comes my Cupid!,
His demeanor elegant,
My heart throbbing as he closes in,
His expression stoic and structure sturdy,
He ambles towards me with a warm gaze.
Here comes my cupid!,
A wave of emotions flutter against my chest,
My eyes fixed on my toes,
Fiddling my fingers as he towers over me,
His grip around my arm as he calms me.
Sometimes I think my cupid is delusive,
All good things don't come easily,
But perhaps my cupid is realistic,
His expression changes,
Becoming fey and obscure.
My Cupid releases the tension,
He then becomes sober,
Desiring to know about my well being,
Caring only for me he says is his purpose.
His words smoothening my features,
A wave of sobs hit my chest,
His love is like manacles,
A gust of tears bewilding me,
Can anyone ever love as thou?,
Is there love as great as this?.
My Cupid always oblivious of himself,
He's akin Zeus,
Only different from him,
Should I say God of love?
Oh Cupid! Whistling sweet melodies,
Cuddling me in the cold night.
I cling to my cupid,
Refusing to let him go,
He's not delusive,
His love brews my blood,
He ebbs me into himself,
Drifting me into a goodnight rest.
