I sat upon my windowsill and watched the people passing by.
And I hoped and I wished there would be snowflakes floating in the winters sky
But not a single one came drifting down
And there certainly werent any in heaps upon the ground
Instead it started raining, but do you know what?
It looked so lovely in the streetlights that i totally forgot
That i wanted to the snow to cover and hide
All the sadness this christmas time
And even though it wasnt what i wanted to see
It was still wonderful enough for me

So I think that that just goes to show
That sometimes rain's okay instead of snow
And even if this was a year
Full of hardship and of fear
We still have things on which to look back
That show us 2020 wasnt all entirely black
So hang the red and green about your home
And know that you are not alone
