Chapter Six
The Chance
Later that night I was in my room thinking about what I should do. I had just decided that I was to uncomfortable to just ask Charlie to thdance when I heard my name called. "Lilly!!" It sound like it was my father calling.
"What?!" I screamed back at my father at the top of my lungs.
"Can you go get the mail?!"
"Sure, Dad!" Do your parents ever do that? He had just came in and passes the mailbox on his way in, and yet I am sent to get it. *sigh* (AN: if your parents do that, please vote!) I walked out into the lawn to the mailbox. I turned around to really take a good look at our house. It was one of those bright yellow two story houses like in the movies. It had a brown tiled roof with the long sliver lightening rod and red brick chimmy sticking out the top. I never be lived in Santa, but Mom always says that is we didn't have a fireplace and chimmy, there would be no Christmas for us. More that I can believe. I grabbed mail and headed back towards the house. Almost immediately, I had a breakthrough! I realizedt that the only way to get Charlie to ask me to the dance. I know in not as good at flirting as Selena, but I had to try. It was the only way. I would have to take a chance.
