Kace normally comes off as aggressive when you first see him. He does looks unhappy and annoyed 24/7, and will practically criticize everything you say. Seeing him smile is extremely rare, considering the scowl he wears most of the time. Although he's very verbally aggressive, he won't do anything physically violent. He used to—more about that in the backstory—but he tries oh so very hard to hold his fighting urges back. The worse you could get from him right now is a really tight grip on your wrist.

Besides that, once he takes a liking to you, you will find yourself with an extremely loyal and passionate companion. He will defend you without a second thought and is often seen as overprotective and jealous. Moving on from someone is very hard for him, so if you start hating him, he will take the worst of it.

BACKSTORY;
Kace has had a rough childhood. He grew up with only his dad. His dad was his life. He looked up to him, loved him, adored him. And so, he went absolutely insane when some guy at school—that one guy who picked on all of his classmates but got away with it because he came from a rich background—started insulting his father because of his low-rank job in the bully's own father's company.
Kace beat him up. He went crazy, broke his nose and made him twist an ankle.
Kace's father had lost his job. And he was extremely disappointed at Kace, giving him the silent treatment. Kace hated that.

One night, his dad left without a word. He had taken a list of groceries with him, so Kace knew he was going to the store. Kace waited. And waited. He didn't come back. Until he heard a knock at 3am. It was the police, come to tell him that his father had died in a car accident. He was 17 at the time and went crazy with revenge. He seeked the guy that ran over his dad. He found him and killed him with a rock. (Fun!)

He was convicted for mUrDeR but didn't get anything too bad, 1° because he was a minor and 2° because the police took into consideration the revenge thing and how they failed to contain him.
So yes, he was sent into a camp for troubled kids for a year. He got better there—even if he totally hated it.
And yeah, he's been trying to live under the radar ever since.
