Chapter 6 - Elphaba

Elphaba POV:
I was chatting with Glinda. We were sitting in my homeroom. Glinda was really busy with her job as ruler of Oz, so we took every moment we could to talk.
'Where is Fenáro?' Glinda asked.
'Oh, I think he is hanging out with friends. He does that a lot.' suddenly the bell rang. 'Oh there he is, I think.' I said. We walked to the door and I opened the door. A girl I had never seen before stood outside.
'Uh, hi!' I said.
'Hi! You are probably thinking who in Oz is she, and why is she here? My name is Alassè and I came here because...' she stopped talking.
'You better tell that inside. Come in.'
Alassè nodded, and followed me inside.
When we sat down on the couch I thought it would be the right time to ask: 'Why did you come here?'
Alassè looked at me sadly.
'I have a letter. It comes from Morrible.'
'What?!' Glinda screamed. I gave her the don't-make-things-worse-than-they-already-are-look. Alassè handed me the letter.

Dear Elphaba,

If you want to see your son alive ever again, you'll better listen to me. He is somewhere hidden, where you are never going to find him. But, you can save him. The only thing you have to do is surrender. You come to me, and I won't kill him.

Love, Morrible

I held back a tear. Don't cry now, Alassè needs your help. I looked up. Glinda was staring at me shocked. Alassè cried. I pulled my arm around her: 'Hey, it's going to be okay. We'll find him before it's too late.' She nodded.

Alassè POV:
While Elphaba tried to calm me down a scarecrow came in. He was holding a little 3 year old girl, and besides them, a monkey with wings was walking. Okay, the scarecrow must be Fiyero. The little girl Fenáro's little sister, what's her name again? Oh yeah, it was Linwë. (you pronounce it like: Linbwè) And the monkey must be Chistery.
'What's wrong?' Fiyero asked when he saw my tears and Glinda's still shocked face. Elphaba walked over to him and handed him the letter. She took the little girl, while Fiyero was reading the letter. Elphaba sat down besides me: 'Linwë, this is Alassè, Alassè, this is Linwë.'
'Hi I-can't-pronounce-your-name!' Linwë said.
I laughed through my tears, 'Hi Linwë.' Linwë had Elphaba's black hair and chocolate brown eyes, she only had a normal skin color. Unlike her brother, who had blonde hair and emerald green eyes. Suddenly Fiyero sat down besides his wife, he pulled an arm around her, 'We are going to find him, Fae.'
Elphaba nodded. It was silent for a while.
'Okay, now someone has to tell me, who is Alassè? How does she know Fenáro and why did she come here with a letter of Morrible?' Glinda asked.
I laughed: 'Well, I am the daughter of Morrible. I became friends with Fenáro a couple of weeks ago. I don't know if she knows it. I am trying to hide it, but I can't promise anything.'
Glinda nodded.
'Ehm, Alassè? You can better go home. Your mother is probably waiting for you.' Elphaba said.
I raised an eyebrow. Elphaba laughed: 'I mean if you stay away too long that would only confirm her suspicions.' I nodded sadly: 'I think you're right. That doesn't mean I like it. I want to stay here, everyone is so kind and so nice. For the first time in my life I feel,' I paused, searching for the right words, 'like I have a family.'
Elphaba lay a hand on my shoulder: 'You're always welcome. Just come back tomorrow.'
I nodded, holding back a tear: 'See you tomorrow then.'

Elphaba POV:
'That what Alassè said about family, that is a really important thing.' Glinda said.
'I know.' I answered, holding back a tear.
'Fae, what is it with you and that girl?' Fiyero asked.
'I don't know! Just leave me alone!' Right after I said that, I already felt sorry for it. I sank down crying. In two seconds Fiyero was by my side: 'Hey it's gonna be okay.' I looked at him: 'I don't know! Yero, it's Horrible Morrible. She could do Oz knows what to him. I hate the feeling of him being in danger. And then the girl. She loves him, but she is too young to fight everything, even worse, the 'bad guy' is her mother. Even if she wanted to, she couldn't kill her. It's so complicated. And after thinking all this, I think, but why are you thinking this? Your son is in danger! You need to do something!'
'WE ARE going to do something!' Glinda said fervently, she sat down at my other side, 'I wouldn't let him suffer at that stupid old fish' hands!'
Linwë started crying. I smiled at her.
'It's time to go to bed for you, little one. Say goodnight to dad and auntie Glinda.'
She ran over to us and pulled Fiyero into an enorm hug! I laughed at his surprised face.
'Goodnight daddy!' she walked to Glinda and gave her one of her hugs too. 'Goodnight auntie Glinda. When are you coming again?'
'Tomorrow.'
'YAY!!!'
'Come on.' I said. She ran to me, and grabbed my hand. Chistery followed us outside: 'Shall I bring her to bed? Then you can talk with the others.'
'Thank you Chistery, that's so kind. Linny, goodnight. Chistery is going to bring you to bed.'
Linwë gave me a hug. 'Bye mummy.'

Chistery POV:
When I Linwë finally got in bed she grabbed my paw. 'Chistery?'
'Yes?'
'Where is Fenáro?'
'He is just... staying with a friend.'
'Why are all adults so scared? Would the friend hurt him?'
'No Linny, don't worry, there's nothing wrong.' I kissed her on her forehead. 'Goodnight Linny.'
'Goodnight Chistery.'

LINWË IS SO FREAKING CUTE!!! But, what surprised me, was the special band forming between Elphaba and Alassè. I hadn't expected that. I mean, I'm the writer, I wrote it, but before I wrote it I hadn't expected it would be there. When I wrote it, I felt like, yes, this is how it would have happened. Pretty weird. So, my question is: What do you think of Elphaba and Alassè together. And, as always, comment your thoughts, ideas, tips and compliments.
