Izuku turned slightly, standing before the door. "Uhm...," he mumbled, glancing towards All Might, "Are you sure about this...?"
All Might gave him a warm smile. "Go on. It'll be alright."
After a moment of biting his lip, Izuku nodded, taking a deep breath before knocking. His heart refused to settle and he fidgeted with his hands, but he remained still.
"One moment," a voice replied - slightly shaky but warm at the same time.
Sucking in a breath, Izuku stared forwards, watching as a woman opened the door. "Who is-"
She froze for a moment, eyes wide. "...I...Izuku...," she whispered breathlessly.
The boy smiled nervously, barely raising his hand as he glanced downwards. "Ah... Hey, mom..."
Before he knew what was going on, the woman stumbled forwards, wrapping her arms around him. Izuku was surprised for a moment, but easily adjusted to the loving warmth that emanated from his mother.
His arms found their way around her back, hands placed on top of each other. "I'm uhm... Glad to see you...," he spoke carefully, trying to keep his voice from shaking.
"Izu," she whispered, body trembling.
"M-mom...?" Izuku replied, panicked, "Are you okay?!"
The woman stepped backwards and wiped a tear from her eye, nodding with a bright smile. "O-of course, Izu."
---
Izuku blinked after a moment, finger twitching as he raised his head from the picture in front of him. He smiled warmly at his and his mother's bright grins before placing the frame back on the table, straightening himself and turning towards a knock on the door.
"Hmm?" he hummed, eyes dragging themselves towards the sound.
A familiar brunette stood in the doorway, a bright smile spread across her cheeks as she pressed herself against the doorframe. "Hey there, Izu!"
Izuku laughed, standing. "Uraraka."
"Excited for your first day of work?" she teased, knowing that he had been up practically all night preparing.
The man blushed. "Yes."
Uraraka laughed, walking towards him. "It's so easy to make you blush, Izu."
Izuku turned towards her, raising a brow and taking pleasure as his smirk turned her cheeks red as well. "I could say the same thing."
The woman blushed, stammering. "Th-that's not f-fair!"
"I think it's perfectly fair, thank you very much!" Izuku grinned brightly.
"You'd think my fiance would be nicer to me," Uraraka sighed before smiling. "Anyways, you should probably get going. Yagi's already outside waiting for you."
"All Might's here?!" Izuku replied with wide eyes, voice frantic. "Why didn't you tell me?!"
Uraraka laughed. "Didn't he tell you to call him Toshinori?" She giggled at his embarrassment before turning around. "But yeah, he just got here."
"You traitor!" Izuku accused, suppressing his own laughter as hers echoed down the hall. After she left, he quickly scooped everything up, rushing out of his room. "I'm-"
He turned towards the sound of a knock on the door, watching as Uraraka walked over to open it.
"Hello!" she greeted happily, opening the door to reveal Toshinori standing in the door.
"Is Midoriya ready?" he asked, raising his head as she nodded.
Izuku froze in his awkward position, items practically spilling from his arms, his unkempt hair and loose tie not helping much in the impression.
Uraraka turned around, raising a brow in amusement. "Clearly not."
The man blushed, smiling sheepishly. "S-sorry."
"You know," Uraraka sighed, stepping away from the door and gesturing for All Might to come in, "You'd think that a famous hero such as yourself would be a little more used to this kind of thing. Or at the very least, be more organized."
All Might shot a sympathetic look towards Izuku, but he let a hint of amusement slip in his expression.
Izuku sighed, but still kept a smile on his face. "Why do you two insist on teasing me...?"
"It's hilarious," came another voice, drawing Izuku's eyes to a smirking blonde.
"Not you too, Kacchan," Izuku groaned.
He shook his head, rubbing the back of his neck. "You make it too easy, Deku."
Izuku simply blinked before heading out the door. "I've had enough of all of you. I'm waiting in the car."
"Izuuuu!" Uraraka laughed. "Don't be like that!"
The man simply shook his head, raising his pinky at her.
Uraraka giggled at the gesture, causing Katsuki to raise a brow.
"Did he just raise his pinky at you?"
"He counts it as a swear," Uraraka explained, still laughing to herself. "He's all about making a good impression on kids, even if he's not anywhere near them."
"I see...," Katsuki mumbled.
"Well, I hate to ruin the moment, but we should probably get going," Toshinori interrupted sheepishly.
"It's fine," Uraraka laughed. "Go on ahead."
Katsuki turned towards her once again. "Aren't you coming?"
"Izu's mom is coming over today. Besides," she shrugged, "It's just orientation. I don't have anyone to teach or anything."
"Not interested in seeing the test?" Toshinori questioned.
"I assure you, Izu will tell me in full detail. Besides," she smiled dreamily, "Inko is teaching me her cookie recipe..."
"See ya, then," Katsuki nodded, yawning.
"Don't explode on anyone this time, alright?" Uraraka teased.
"Wh-" the blonde shot her a dirty look. "What'd you say, Round Face?!"
Uraraka whistled innocently. "I don't know what you mean."
Just as Katsuki opened his mouth to speak, All Might chuckled.
"We really should get going, Bakugou."
The blonde tossed back an annoyed look before mumbling a 'Fine' and walking out the door. He, however, didn't bother to censor himself, sticking up the middle finger for all to see.
Uraraka grinned, stepping towards the door with Toshinori. "Bye, Yagi," she said as he left.
The man nodded, smiling. "Hope to visit again soon, Uraraka. Also," he glanced from side to side, "I expect some of Inko's cookies when we come back..."
The woman laughed, nodding before shutting the door behind him.
After a moment, she turned around, sighing with a smile on her face. "Good luck, Izu."
---
"Your fiance is a B****," Katsuki grumbled, arms crossed as they left the car.
Izuku looked offended. "Kacchan!" He glanced around at all the students. "There are children!!"
"They're all teenagers, you dunce," he replied, rolling his eyes.
"Still!" Izuku scolded him. "And I don't exactly appreciate you talking about her like that!"
"Ever so defensive, nerd," Katsuki sighed, unable to hide his smirk.
"I-"
"By the way," he mumbled, "I'm sorry."
Izuku raised a brow, annoyance dissipating. "What...?"
"I know it's a dumb time to say this or whatever," the blonde said with a low voice, "I'm sorry for treating you like a total..." His eyes flicked towards Izuku, causing him to (painfully) force himself to censor his words. "Jerk... To you."
"Kacchan...," Izuku said worriedly.
"Don't be getting all worried, nerd," Katsuki groaned, turning to the side. "I just thought you should know."
After a moment, Izuku playfully punched him in the air, surprising the blonde. "It's alright, Kacchan. I'm sorry too."
"What?!" Katsuki yelled back. "Why are you apologizing?!"
"Because-"
"No, God... dang it!" he twitched, "Stop saying sorry for everything! It's annoying!"
"But-"
"aGGGGGGGGH!"
All Might glanced towards the two men, chuckling. "There are people watching, you know."
"Who cares?" Katsuki mumbled, but he quieted down nevertheless.
After a quick laugh, Izuku laughed softly. "Thanks though, Kacchan. It means a lot."
Before Katsuki could reply, Izuku quickened his pace, brightly looking at the scenery around him.
Instead, the blonde simple grumbled under his breath, sighing and just barely repressing a smile as he watched the man fanboy about his surroundings. Whatever...
---
Izuku grinned as he turned the corner, only to stop suddenly in the hallway as he heard soft crying. Pausing for a moment, the man looked at the clock. Only a few minutes til class...
Sighing, he shook his head and turned towards the source of the sound, finding himself in an empty classroom, causing his stomach to churn with painful memories. Still, he pushed through, eyes scanning the room until they fell upon a boy in the corner.
"Hello?" he said cheerfully, causing the boy to stiffen.
"Why... Why are you here...?" he grumbled.
"Well," Izuku laughed slightly, trying to lighten the mood as he took a seat near the boy, "I heard you crying."
The boy turned, wiping his tears. "I don't know what you mean."
Izuku paused before smiling softly. "What's your name?"
He hesitated for a moment before replying quietly. "Hakai."
The freckled man hummed in reply. "And what's wrong, Hakai?"
"I..." He sighed, burying his head in his knees. "I didn't get into the hero course."
"Well," he asked curiously, "What course are you in?"
"...General education," Hakai replied hesitantly."
Izuku offered the boy a smile. "I'm sorry that you didn't get into the course you wanted. But," he mentioned, grinning brightly, "You still have a chance after the Sport's Festival."
Hakai paused, curling his fingers into fists. "...No I don't."
The freckled man's smile fell. He knew that tone. "...Why is that?"
"Because I'm just some villain," Hakai replied, hints of anger and sadness in his voice.
Izuku bit his lip, but forced himself to smile. "...Of course you're not."
"That's what everyone says."
"Well that's-"
Hakai turned. "I don't need your pity. They're all right - I know. And you'd think so, too, if you knew my quirk."
"...May I ask what it is?" Izuku asked, causing the boy to sigh.
"It's..." He squeezed his eyes shut, "Everything I touch just disappears."
Izuku raised his head curiously. "What do you mean?"
Hakai seemed confused at the man's interest, raising his own head slightly. "I..." His eyes drifted around the room before he reached forwards and touched a chair. Within a few moments, the chair seemed to have fizzled from existence, causing Izuku to watch with amazement.
Hakai turned slightly, wincing at the furrowing of the man's brows. "...I told y-"
"That's strange," he mumbled, standing slightly. He moved his hands around the area in which the chair was previously and, of course, he no longer felt it. After a moment, he paused. "What were your parents' quirks?"
Hakai raised a brow. "Uhm... My mom could make objects smaller so she could carry them around... And my dad can turn things invisible."
Izuku's face slowly brightened, an excited and childlike grin appearing as he turned towards Hakai. "Make the chair reappear!"
The boy blinked. "...What?"
"Your quirk - its not to make things disappear," he explained, speaking quickly, "It's to store them in a sort of mental area or something." He gestured towards the empty space, just causing the boy to become more confused. "You can't just destroy atoms or anything."
After a moment, Hakai looked down. "You're insane."
"Hakai!" Izuku caught his attention, startling him with his determined expression. "Try to make the chair reappear!"
The boy stared at the man before shaking his head with a sigh. "Fine. But I'm telling you," he said, focusing on trying to make it reappear, "It's not going to-"
He trailed off, eyes widening as he watched the chair reform. "...Work."
"See!" Izuku grinned, causing the boy to stare at him in awe. "Your quirk is amazing, Hakai! And," he shrugged, "Even if you did have the other quirk you were talking about, it could be pretty useful-" His eyes widened as tears dripped down the boy's cheeks, panic setting in. "Oh my god I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to... Uhm... I..."
Hakai shook his head, grinning brightly at the man. "Thank you, sir."
Izuku stared, stunned for a moment before breaking out into a smile of his own. "No problem, kid."
The two stood in silence for a moment before the bell suddenly rang, causing both to realize where they were.
As their eyes connected, Hakai stared at Izuku. "Run?"
Izuku nodded, eyes wide. "Run."
After a quick exchange of a smile, the two ran off in opposite directions, with Izuku practically flying into his room. He took a moment to breathe before positioning himself behind his desk, attempting not to choke on the air.
"Hey there...," he grinned, catching his breath as he stared over a surprised classroom. "My name is... Mr... Uh...," he paused for a moment. "...Mr. Midoriya - otherwise known by the hero name, 'Deku.' And I'll be your new homeroom teacher!"
