Battles

I hope you appreciate this super long one (I figured you'd like it better than a bunch of separate ones - sorry if I was wrong, lol)

I mean, I can still separate them if you want me to :P

strap in because there's 29 minutes of reading ahead, fools

-x- Izuku Midoriya's POV -x-

I gasped upon walking into the huge observation room. "Woah!"

"That's right," Uraraka smiled, laughing. "You've never been here."

"The quality is quite nice," Iida commented. "Unfortunately, though, there's no sound."

"I'm sure there's enough cool action to make up for it," I grinned.

Iida nodded. "Of course."

"The first two teams to fight will be Asui and Jiro against Mineta and Tokoyami," Aizawa announced - albeit dully. "They're already in their areas, so there's not much else to say."

I raised a brow. "Uh... Is it always like this?"

Kaminari sighed, drawing my attention. "No. Usually All Might teaches these lessons. But with Aizawa I have a feeling this is gonna suck."

"Hey, I'm sure it won't be that bad," Uraraka said, but her nervous smile didn't reassure me any.

"Ooh!" Ashido explained, pointing to the screen. "It's starting!"

The class turned to look at the screen. Boths teams were about a mile away from the building, though at opposite sides. On the screen, Asui and Jiro spoke, and it looked like a productive conversation. However, Tokoyami seemed to be having issues with Mineta, as the boy was panicking.

"How strong are they all?" I asked to no one in particular.

"I mean, from what I've seen, Tsuyu's - Asui's - quirk is super versatile," Uraraka replied.

"Something similar can be said for Tokoyami's quirk," Iida added. "They're both incredibly strong."

Kaminari nodded. "Jiro's pretty strong too. Plus, she has like, super hearing so she can basically sense anyone coming."

I tilted my head to the side. "What about Mineta?" Each of my classmates glanced away, their faces showing forms of disgust. Though, Kaminari didn't seem to mind as much as the others.

"Well uh...," Ashido mumbled, walking up to us. "To put it simply, he's a total perv."

"Oh...," I said awkwardly.

Iida sighed. "Yes. It causes quite a bit of trouble for us. But I can't say that he's not strong. His quirk, I suppose, can work well for a variety of situations."

I nodded before smiling. "I really can't wait to see everyone's quirks." My eyes widened and I smacked my hand against my head. "Dang it!"

"Is something wrong, Midoriya?" Iida asked.

I sighed. "I totally forgot to bring my notebook. It would've been cool to document everything..."

Uraraka raised a brow. "Notebook?"

Blushing, I laughed nervously. "Don't worry about it."

"Wh-"

"Go, Tsuyu!" Ashido cheered, dragging our attention towards the screen. Tsuyu leapt into the air, sending her tongue towards Tokoyami. Tokoyami, however, simply narrowed his eyes, and a shadow appeared from under his cloak.

"Woah!" I grinned. "That's so cool!"

Squinting my eyes, I noticed something small on the side of the building. Huh. I tilted my head to the side. Is it... moving? My eyes widened as I realized that it was Mineta scaling the side of the building - employing the use of his quirk for the feat.

"Impressive," I mumbled, tapping my finger to my chin. "In order to keep himself from falling, he's utilizing the stickiness of his quirk. Not to mention, his small stature surely helps in keeping him from being spotted. If he were to use those in capture situations, he'd be incredibly useful. I wonder-"

Aizawa glanced over. "Quiet down."

Looking around, I noticed several people staring at me. I scratched my chin, smiling sheepishly. "O-oh. Sorry."

Aizawa paid my response no mind, and, after a moment, the both of us continued watching the situation play out.

Mineta slowly reached his hand out towards one of the windows, but suddenly, he began to shake. Huh?

Upon inspecting further, even the windows were shaking. And Mineta looked terrified.

After glancing around for a moment, I spotted Jiro, her earphone jack plugged into the side of the building. Must be her, then. That's amazing.

Although initially terrified, Mineta grinned, kept up by the strength of his quirk. Guess they're really sticky? Though, after becoming overconfident, his finger slipped, sending him plummeting towards the ground.

Strangely, Tsuyu grabbed him out of the air before placing him - or rather, throwing him 'lightly - to the ground.

"How come she helped him?" I questioned.

"There was no way for Mineta to really save himself," Ashido offered.

Uraraka nodded. "Yeah. I mean, just because you're enemies doesn't mean you have to let the other person die."

"Makes sense," I replied simply. Weirdly enough, they seemed somewhat surprised that I accepted their explanation so quickly.

Mineta, it seemed, was now out of commission, leaving Tokoyami to fend for himself. Tsuyu and Tokoyami were still locked in a battle, with only 7 minutes left on the clock.

"Wait a minute...," I realized, "Wasn't there supposed to be a trap or something?"

"Oh yeah...!" Ashido's eyes widened. "Aizawa Sensei, where's the trap at?"

Aizawa didn't reply, but he didn't need to. Without warning, the building began to rumble.

"W-woah!" Kaminari shouted.

Kirishima attempted to keep his balance. "What's going on?!"

Though it was difficult to see with the shaking, I saw as a large, metallic object entered the frame. "Is that... A robot?" I asked, struggling to stay upright.

"You're right!" Uraraka exclaimed. The rumbling settled slightly, but each of the robot's steps brought a new tremor.

"This seems a bit dangerous...," Iida mumbled.

Kaminari raised a brow. "You act like nothing else we do is dangerous."

Iida opened his mouth to speak but decided against it.

"Well uh," Ashido grinned nervously, "It can't like, kill 'em or anything, right Aizawa Sensei?"

Aizawa looked at her, speaking nonchalantly. "Not if they can defeat it."

"Wha?!?!" half the class shouted.

Aizawa glared at the class. "You think it's terrifying to take down a measly robot, yet you want to be heroes? Pitiful."

The class sunk down, moods low as they turned back towards the screen with unease.

Upon noticing the robot, Tsuyu leapt into the air, shooting her tongue towards it's huge, metallic leg. It wrapped around quickly and she pulled backwards, but her attempts seemed futile. After a few moments of struggling, Tsuyu's tongue snapped back into her mouth, and she rubbed her mouth.

Tokoyami then turned, narrowing his eyes as he sent Dark Shadow - who Iida kindly provided the name of - towards the robot. Again, though, it was an almost impossible task.

After a few more failed attempts, the group jumped backwards, though they seemed to have lost the will to fight each other. Instead, they began talking while gesturing towards the robot. Of course. They're calling a truce.

"Uhm, aren't they supposed to be fighting?" Mina questioned.

Without thinking, I piped up. "Think about it. If they continue fighting, the robot will never be defeated, and both teams will lose. At least this way, one of the groups has a chance to win. The truce is beneficial for both teams."

Uraraka smiled while Mina nodded. "Makes sense," she replied.

I tossed her a smile before turning back towards the screen. Strangely, Tsuyu had a terrified Mineta wrapped up, and, after jumping, she unravelled her tongue and threw him towards the robot.

Tears flew from Mineta's eyes as he cried, landing on the robot. Still shaking, he began to climb up the robot with the help of his quirk. While Mineta climbed, Tsuyu and Tokoyami headed towards the back, and Jiro to the side.

Jiro quickly plugged her earphone jack into the robot's leg, nodding.

Taking a cue from the command, Tsuyu wrapped her tongue around the back of the robot's left leg, while Tokoyami ordered Dark Shadow to take the right.

As Mineta climbed up the robot, it stumbled backwards, attempting to smack the boy off. Though, Mineta was surprisingly quick, giving the robot a lot more trouble than most expected.

Once the robot stumbled backwards again, Jiro stomped her foot on the ground, and the robot began to shake. Afterwards, Tsuyu and Tokoyami both tugged backwards, causing the robot to lose it's balance.

As the robot plummeted towards the ground, both groups quickly moved out of the way, a cloud of dust erupting from the ground where the robot fell.

Both groups panted before sharing grins. After the dust began to settle though, they seemed to remember the purpose of the exercise.

The clock ticked down quickly, causing me to become anxious as they fought. C'mon. Remember guys - you still have to save the dummy. You can't fail now.

But the groups were trapped in a stalemate. And, soon enough, the time reached zero, causing a horn to blare through the speakers.

"Both teams lost," Aizawa said bluntly.

---

"Sucks that neither team got to really do anything," Jiro groaned, stretching her arms.

"What do you mean?!" I beamed, "That was so cool!"

Ashido laughed. "You sure get excited easily, huh?"

I blushed. "W-well... Uhm..."

Ashido smirked before patting me on the back. "It's cool, dude. You need to calm down a bit, y'know?"

I smiled sheepishly and nodded, when Aizawa began speaking.

"Next is Iida and Shoji against Ojiro and Uraraka."

I grinned, excited to see two of my friends in action. They both kinda told me what quirks they had, but they never showed them. I can't wait to see!

Like in the last activity, the teams were relatively far from the building. They both stood still, waiting for the timer to start. Iida and Shoji seemed to be speaking - though, it looked like Iida was carrying most of the conversation - while Ojiro and Uraraka glanced nervously at each other. Why do they look so nervous? I wondered.

Suddenly, the timer began, signalling for the teams to start. Without wasting a moment, Iida nodded at Shoji and activated his quirk, quickly bursting forwards. My eyes widened as I saw him bolt towards the building. His speed is incredible.

Within mere moments, Iida was at the building with a long trail of uplifted dust behind him. Wiping the sweat from his forehead, he put his finger to his ear.

"I forgot to mention, they have communicators," Aizawa said.

Makes sense.

Iida spoke quickly - presumably to tell Shoji that he had arrived - before inspecting the building. His eyes darted around quickly, before a flicker of red appeared in his eyes. A flame burst from the building, causing Iida to use his arm as a shield. He grit his teeth as the warm air rushed towards him.

After the initial burst, the flames died slightly, though they still raged through each floor. Iida returned to his normal position, placing his hand on his chin while looking towards the sky.

He can't race in there like normal, or he'll just fan the flames.

Iida glanced around before putting on his mask. Afterwards, he quickly tapped a button, likely turning on some sort of respirator to prevent smoke inhalation.

Iida slowly crept into the building, and around the corner he was met by a wall of flames. He stepped backwards slightly, glancing around.

As Iida attempted to figure out a plan, Shoji was headed towards the building, and Uraraka and Ojiro weren't far behind. By using her Zero Gravity, Uraraka gave the two a bit of an edge, quickening their movement due to their newfound lightness.

Back at the building - likely due to Iida's high priority of safety - Iida was moving decently slowly, which was a bit of a cause for concern. With the way the other team was moving in, they'd surely catch up, even if he was a bit further ahead. C'mon, Iida!

Kaminari sighed. "That guy is too proper."

Ashido laughed. "That's Iida, for ya!"

Soon enough, Iida had reached the 4th floor. It would've been impressive if not for the fact that the other team had just shown up and were running inside, trailed closely by Shoji.

Iida paused, likely hearing the steps from below. He began to move slightly faster, attempting to search for the stairs to the next floor. If this were a real building, this would definitely not pass safety codes...

After a moment, Iida finally found the stairs, quickly shoving cement chunks out of his way before heading up. Luckily for him, he had just made it to the floor in which the dummy was held.

Iida perked up slightly, making his way through the debris as he made it towards the dummy. Just as he was becoming careless - though not by much considering his personality - he threw his arms into the air, jumping backwards as a burning piece of wood fell from the ceiling.

The camera panned up with Iida's view, and he jumped as he saw the state. The ceiling, even though the majority of the building was made of concrete, was made of wood. Yeah. Definitely not a good building.

After pepping himself back up, Iida began to walk more carefully, ensuring that he walked through safer areas by checking first.

As he neared the dummy, Ojiro and Shoji had engaged in battle, while Uraraka had snuck upstairs and was just reaching the floor Iida was on.

She arrived at the top, panting, drawing Iida's attention. The boy snapped his head back forwards and continued pushing towards the dummy, finally reaching the doll. He put his hands on his hips triumphantly, and, for some reason, Uraraka couldn't help but laugh.

Aizawa leaned forwards into the mic. "You still need to get the dummy out safely."

Iida put his hands on his head, presumably letting out a groan, while Uraraka grinned. She began lightly touching the objects around her, forming herself a safe path while Iida panicked.

Woah. So that's Zero Gravity.

After glancing around for a moment, Iida carefully picked up the dummy, heading out towards a nearby exit while shielding the dummy from falling debris. Uraraka gritted her teeth, and she looked sick as she continued making things float. Breathing heavily, she pushed her fingertips together, causing everything to drop behind her.

Iida hesitated as he stared at a window, looking outside. However, deciding to use

Uraraka's break as an opportunity, Iida used his elbow to shatter the glass.

He stood stunned for a moment before looking out the window. His view was from an incredible height, causing me to become somewhat scared. However, he took a deep breath and leapt out the window.

"NO WAY!" I blurted.

Ashido's jaw dropped. "IIDA?! IIDA JUST DID THAT?!"

As chaos ensued, Iida's eyes widened within his mask, and he gulped, realizing that his decision was probably not the best idea. However, he began to run down the side of the building, using his speed to his advantage.

Everyone watched with bated breath as Iida ran down the side of the building, a sigh of relief sweeping over the crowd as Iida made it to the ground safely.

Iida set the dummy down before prying off his mask, dizzily wandering around.

"Iida's team wins," Aizawa said simply.

---

"Sorry you didn't win Uraraka," I said.

Uraraka smiled back, rubbing the back of her neck. "Nah. I totally lost focus. Iida deserved the win."

"Yeah, you did great Iida!" I grinned. "And Ojiro, of course."

Ojiro blinked. "A second thought..."

"Ah, I made quite a reckless decision. Although my team was able to win, I pledge to think things out more thoroughly from now on!" He stared towards the sky as he continued giving a speech.

"That's Iida, for ya," Uraraka laughed. "Though," she raised a brow, "I'm really surprised he did something like that."

"Yeah," I chuckled, "He was barely moving before. I guess he wanted to win and got scared when you showed up."

Uraraka smiled, looking down slightly. "That's a nice thought. But I'm no match for him, anyways."

"No way!" I grinned, causing her to look a bit surprised. "You were great. Like, you got past Shoji, for one," I pointed out. "And you freaked Iida out enough to run down a building!"

After listening, Uraraka smiled. "Thanks, Izuku." She blushed suddenly. "I-I meant M-Midoriya!" she stammered.

I shrugged. "I don't mind. You can call me whatever you want."

"O-oh...," Uraraka blushed, causing Ashido to snicker. Am I missing something...?

"Alright, be quiet," Aizawa said tiredly. "Now it's time for-"

"AHAAAA!" a voice rang out, causing Aizawa to groan. "HELLO, STUDENTS!" Suddenly, All Might burst into the room, laughing triumphantly. "Sorry I'm late! I got a bit held up - I apologize. But now everything is okay - because I am here!"

The class cheered, causing Aizawa to sigh. "Whatever," he mumbled. I smirked slightly, tossing him a look. Jealous?

Aizawa rolled his eyes before looking away. "The next battle will start soon. Ashido, Koda, Sato, Sero. All of you, get in your designated areas." Each of them nodded.

"Koda looks a bit nervous," I mentioned.

Uraraka nodded. "He's super shy. Though, lately, he's been interacting a lot more, so that's good!"

I hummed in reply, and everyone took their places.

"I'll be staying, but All Might will take over as the main monitor," Aizawa said.

"Yes!" All Might grinned. "I can't wait to see you all in action once again!"

---

Once Ashido's and Sato's groups were in place, the timer ticked down to begin the round. Both teams, like all previous rounds, had 2 minutes to discuss before the round really began.

On screen, Ashido was excitedly talking to a confused Koda, but it seemed he was at least trying to keep up. Sato and Sero talked as well, though it seemed they had a better team dynamic. I couldn't help but notice, though, that they seemed a bit cocky. That might hurt them in the long run.

"....Ready?!" All Might yelled out once the timer had reached 5 seconds. "5... 4.... 3... 2... 1... GOGOGO!"

The 15 minute timer began ticking down, and both teams quickly sprung into action. Ashido, using her acid, skated towards the building at a surprisingly quick pace, while Sero used his tape to swing along the lampposts.

Strangely, Sato stood still before opening a bag of sugar and pouring some into his mouth. After he had eaten some, he wiped his lips off and charged forwards with a good amount of speed. Woah!
"What's his quirk?!" I asked, surprised.

Iida smiled. "When Sato eats sugar, his physical performance improves drastically."

Uraraka nodded but shrugged. "There is a downside, though. He crashes after a few minutes so rounds need to be pretty quick or he needs to continue eating. Probably why he saved some of the sugar."

I nodded. "I see. And uh," I raised a brow, "What exactly is Koda's quirk?" On the screen, Koda was awkwardly walking towards the building, but wasn't doing anything exactly extraordinary.

"He can like... Control animals, basically," Uraraka explained simply.

Iida nodded. "It's quite impressive. Though...," he tapped his finger on his chin, "I'm not entirely sure what he'll do here, considering it's more of a cityscape."

"I'm sure there must be a few squirrels at least," Uraraka suggested.

"What about bugs?" I asked.

The two looked at each other nervously before Uraraka smiled awkwardly at me.

"Well... He can control them, but he's totally terrified by them."

"Mmm...," I nodded. "I get it. Then I wonder what he'll do..." Iida and Uraraka both

nodded, and we each turned back towards the screen.

Sero, even though Ashido had a headstart, was in the lead and was at the building a few moments after I had started watching again. He looked up at the building before shooting his tape at an open window. As he began to pull himself upwards, however, he suddenly fell with eyes wide, tape falling limply to the ground. What the...?

Sero furrowed his brows before trying once again, though it produced the same result. And, by the time he had tried for a third time, Ashido had arrived.

Ashido grinned, swerving around the boy with her acid when she suddenly fell flat on her face. She groaned, sitting up confusedly.

"What's going on...?" I mumbled. "Have their quirks been disabled or something...?"

"Precisely," All Might grinned.

"Huuuuuh?!" the majority of the class gasped.

Kaminari's eyes widened. "No way!"

Kirishima looked nervous. "I didn't know anyone but Aizawa Sensei could do that..."

"I mean, there must be some factual explanation," Yaoyorozu mentioned.

Iida raised a hand. "Sir, may I ask how that's even possible?"

All Might smiled, beginning to speak. However, he was quickly cut off by Aizawa.

"I know he'll over explain if I let him, so to put it simply, there's a type of sludge inside the building Most quirks are rendered ineffective against the sludge," he explained simply. But, sensing Iida would continue, he answered the question he assumed he'd ask. "Certain quirks can't be used in all situations, so the heroes have to make do."

All Might laughed nervously, nodding. "Exactly! And your classmates were both affected by the sludge." He pointed to the screen, and it zoomed in. On the windowsill was a glob of sludge, and seeping out of the building's door was more sludge."The sludge doesn't actually erase their quirks - the quirks just don't work on the sludge specifically."

Aizawa sighed. "I explained so we wouldn't have to have this long conversation, but it happened anyway. Whatever." He pinched the bridge of his nose before raising his head. "If you couldn't tell already, Ashido's acid was cancelled by the sludge, and Sero's tape couldn't stick to it. Happy?"

The class nodded nervously and, strangely enough, All Might did the same.

"Great," he turned towards the screen, causing everyone else to do the same.

So, all they have to do is avoid the sludge? I wonder how much there is...

After both Sero and Ashido failed to make it past each other, they were forced to engage in combat. The two were fairly formidable, but it was safe to say that Ashido had the upper hand in the situation, as her acid easily ate through his tape.

Ashido grinned, burning each strand of tape he sent towards her before it could connect, while also using her acid to skate around any that she missed.

Sero's eyes widened as she got closer, frantically using his quirk in an attempt to subdue her. However, like before, Ashido was easily able to avoid his tape, and launched towards him with a kick. Huh. She's athletic too, then.

Just before Ashido's foot connected, though, she was caught in the middle of the air. Sero looked surprised at Sato, who stood in front of him.

Sero grinned and Sato nodded, signalling for him to go inside. Ashido narrowed her eyes while spinning around and jumping towards Sero, fist drawn. However, once again, Sato blocked her attack.

Ashido jumped backwards and, while Sero made it inside, Sato kept the acid user at bay.

Sero's eyes widened as he walked inside, and many of my classmates' - including my own - did too. Inside was a copious amount of sludge, caking the ceilings and floors. To make matters worse, it seemed that it was a thick enough substance that it was difficult to tread through, as well.

Groaning, Sero began carefully maneuvering through the sludge, ensuring that he didn't slip. Each step took a few moments, though, since his feet constantly were trapped by the stickiness of the sludge. I wonder how he'll get past that...

Outside, Ashido and Sato continued to battle it out, but they were stuck in a sort of stalemate as neither was able to reach the other. Each time Ashido attempted to attack, Sato blocked her. Conversely, every time Sato tried the same, Ashido used her acid to keep him away.

As I watched the camera flip through Sero's trek and Ashido and Sato's battle, I realized that someone was missing.

"Hey uh...," I scratched my chin, "Where's Koda?"

Iida opened his mouth to speak before furrowing his brows. "You're right... He's not anywhere to be found..."

As if someone were listening - like the author, for instance - the camera flipped to Koda. The boy had stopped his walk and instead sat in front of a bush, smiling as he conversed with animals.

"No way," Kaminari facepalmed.

"Well... I suppose that's partly what his quirk is for...," Yaoyorozu mumbled.

Mineta rolled his eyes. "Why so obsessed with animals when there's plenty of girls to gawk at?"

Jiro narrowed her eyes before stabbing him in the foot with her earphone jack. Mineta suddenly yelped, hopping on one foot as he grabbed onto the other.

"Hey!" he yelled in his nasally voice, "What was that for, you flat-"

This time, Todoroki froze the boy, causing several odd looks. "Oh," he glanced around. "Should I not have done that?"

Aizawa sighed. "Whatever. Just unfreeze him."

Todoroki shrugged, thawing the boy out with his fire. So that's it...

Mineta fell to the ground, rubbing his arms. "S-so c-c-cold," his teeth chattered. Though, no one seemed to care much.

Tokoyami glanced over at the screen. "Looks like it's still a stalemate." Woah. I haven't even heard him talk yet...

"Look, though," Yaoyorozu pointed out, "Sato is becoming tired. He's crashing, as it seems. Although she was using up quite a bit of it, Ashido has plenty of energy left. This very well might turn the tides of battle."

Uraraka laughed. "Ashido sure has a lot of energy."

Just as Yaoyorozu predicted, Sato's movements became more sluggish and, eventually, Ashido was able to land a solid hit. It wasn't a whole lot, but it was still something.

Gritting his teeth, Sato grabbed onto his arm, and it was clear that Ashido had burned through his suit. Just as Ashido was celebrating, though, Sato took out the sugar he had conserved before pouring it into his mouth with a grin.

"I forgot he kept some...," I mumbled, and it seemed like most others did too.

Ashido's eyes widened as Sato's movements quickened, even seeming like he was faster than before. His strength had also increased, and it seemed that he could overpower Ashido if she made one wrong move.

Before the fight could continue, though, the screen showed Sero as he continued up the stairs. Because of the sludge, he had only made it about halfway through the second floor, with only 5 minutes left on the clock. At this rate, it'll be another loss for both teams...

Suddenly, though, Sero glanced upwards as if he had heard a noise. His eyes widened as hundreds of animals raced through, using whatever they could to keep themselves from sinking into the sludge.

"Ehh?!" Bakugo yelled, "What's going on?!"

"So that's what he was trying to do...," I mumbled, eyes wide.

"Oui," Aoyama said simply.

Iida looked impressed. "So many critters. Well done, Koda!"

Kirishima grinned. "So manly! I knew he wouldn't just give up!"

The creatures continued racing up the floors, and it seemed both Ashido and Sato noticed the swarm of animals.

Koda stood outside, smiling as he pet a squirrel that sat on his shoulder, while Ashido proudly grinned. Sato, however, looked relatively surprised, as well as concerned. He turned, attempting to stop Koda, but Ashido was quick on her feet.

Surprisingly, Ashido spun around, grabbed a glob of the sludge, and threw it in front of Koda. As Koda flinched, Sato's fist connected with the sludge, rendering his punch relatively useless. She has an amazing battle sense, a good quirk, and even great physical capabilities on her own... So cool!

Ashido gave Koda a thumbs up and he gave her a grateful smile and, after a few moments, the critters ran back outside, carrying the dummy as if it were crowd surfing. Koda bent down, smiling, and likely offered a thanks to the animals.

Everyone stood in the viewing area, surprise written all over their faces.

"...Well, uh...," All Might coughed. "Ashido and Koda WIIIIIN!"

---

When Koda returned, he received a great amount of praise from everyone, reddening at each compliment.

"That was so manly, dude!" Kirishima grinned, offering a high five. Koda awkwardly returned it, only to receive another barrage of compliments.

"Yeah, I'm proud of my partner," Ashido smirked. "Teamwork, amirite?!"

"Except Koda did everything," Mineta mentioned, earning himself a face full of pavement.

"She was pretty impressive, I think," I offered. "She even thought to use the sludge to her advantage."

"See," Ashido grinned triumphantly. "At least someone recognizes my talents!"

All Might's voice rose above the chatter, catching the attention of everyone. Must be part of why he's such a great pro... "Now, now, students, calm yourselves. We've got our next round ready, and the teams are already in place." He grinned, turning towards the screen. "Bakugo and Hagakure versus Kaminari and Yaoyorozu!"

Most people flinched, reminding me of Kaminari's fear of going to the next round. He had groaned, saying something along the lines of 'We're gonna get creamed.'

I raised a brow. "Why is everyone so concerned?"

Uraraka smiled nervously. "Bakugo is one of the strongest in the class. He's the only one here who might stand any chance against someone like Todoroki..."

Iida nodded. "Both Todoroki and Bakugo are incredibly strong. In fact, Bakugo placed first in the Sports Festival. Though, I have to admit, it did seem that Todoroki was a bit distracted."

"I lost hard against Bakugo," Uraraka sighed. "Even though he can seem like a total jerk, though," she added, "He always gives it his all."

"I guess Kacchan's like that," I said.

Uraraka raised a brow. "Who's Kacchan?"

I opened my mouth to speak, but found myself confused as well. "I don't know... I meant to say Bakugo, but it just felt like the right thing to say..."

"Well, whatever it is, I'm sure it's not too important," Uraraka smiled.

I nodded in agreement. "Yeah. Plus, with how strong you guys are saying he is, I'm excited to see!" I grinned.

Uraraka let out a small laugh. "You're like a little kid about to get ice cream or something." I blushed, and she froze. "Er uhh... Hehhhh... Anyways, we should probably watch." She quickly turned her attention towards the screen, face red, and I did the same.

On screen, Yaoyorozu was speaking to a nervous Kaminari, and it seemed she was trying to think of a strategy. Though, she didn't exactly look confident. Strangely, though, Bakugo and Hagakure didn't so much as glance at each other, and it seemed that the blonde was just eager to rush off into battle.

As soon as the timer began, Bakugo grinned, putting his hands behind his back. Hagakure suddenly jumped before moving out of the way, and Bakugo lit explosions in his palms, propelling himself forwards at extreme speed. Woah...

Bakugo's hair flew behind him wildly, a large grin on his face. He made it to the area in a matter of moments but, for some reason, he didn't go inside.

Other students began groaning, believing Bakugo to be waiting for a chance to fight. And, although part of their assumption seemed to be true, I had a feeling that he wasn't stupid enough to do something like that just for the sake of it.

He stared at the building in front of him while the other team - along with Hagakure - made their way towards it. After a moment, Bakugo furrowed his brows, placing his palm against the building. Suddenly, his eyes widened and he leapt backwards. What is he-

Just as he escaped, a spike shot from the building, barely missing him.

"Woah," I whispered breathlessly.

"Did... Did the building just attack him?!" Ashido asked, eyes wide.

All Might nodded. "Correct. Th-"

"The building is 'programmed' to attack when it senses someone's touch. It'll shift around in order to stop the student from trying to move around," Aizawa explained.

"What happened to this being my lesson?!" All Might questioned, exasperated.

Aizawa raised a brow. "It is your lesson. Your explanations are just long and annoying."

All Might grumbled to himself, and it was clear the two had somewhat of a rivalry. Though, I wouldn't say that they didn't have some sort of friendship. "Yes...," he sighed. "Aizawa is right." He cleared his throat, regaining most of his energy. "Now, let's see what Young Bakugo plans to do about this predicament!"

On screen, Bakugo scratched the back of his head before sighing. He then propelled himself into the air, moving as close as he could to the windows without actually touching them.

He began looking through each floor, presumably to find the dummy. Quickly enough, he seemed to have found it, as he remained hovering for a moment. Bakugo took in a deep breath before moving backwards and holding his hand out. His eyes narrowed as he released an incredible explosion from his palm.

As the dust settled, Bakugo became visible, and my eyes widened. His explosion seemed so random, but it was actually decently precise... He gave it just enough power to take down some of the wall, but not enough for the debris to go inside more than a few feet.

Uraraka smiled. "Yeah, that's Bakugo for you. When he's not super angry, he's a genius."

I nodded, impressed.

Just as Bakugo was about to fly in, a cannonball suddenly shot through the air. Bakugo spiralled backwards in time to dodge, and his attention quickly snapped towards Yaoyorozu, who clenched her teeth. Her Creation quirk.

Bakugo narrowed his eyes, raising his palm towards the girl and firing off an explosion. Her eyes widened and Kaminari was forced to push her out of the way, getting burned slightly himself.

Yaoyorozu bit her lip, looking incredibly disappointed and guilty for getting Kaminari hurt. However, although Kaminari seemed to be in some sort of pain, he didn't seem to mind as much as Yaoyorozu.

"Poor girl," Uraraka mumbled, causing me to raise a brow. "She didn't really get a chance to do anything at the Sports Festival and ended up losing her confidence. It didn't help when we did the teacher battles and her and Todoroki lost. She thought it was all her fault."

I frowned slightly. "Yaoyorozu..." I sucked in a breath, offering a hopeful smile. "I'm sure she'll regain her confidence soon. She just needs a bit of a boost. Even if it takes a while."

Uraraka laughed. "You're such a saint, Midoriya." Both of us were a bit surprised at her words, and we blushed in response.

"Heh...," I mumbled, turning back towards the screen.

Hagakure had just arrived, and Bakugo began yelling at her, likely telling her to take care of the other two. Hagakure nodded and Bakugo headed instead, careful not to touch anything on his way in.

"Hmmm," Iida tapped his chin, "This might not be good."

"What do you mean?" I asked curiously.

Iida furrowed his brows. "Bakugo is riled up now. I'm not sure he'll complete the task if he continues allowing his anger to consume him."

"I see...," I mumbled.

On screen, Bakugo flew through the hole he had made, rushing towards the dummy. In his haste, though - likely sparked by his rage - he had just barely grazed his foot against the ground, causing a spike to shoot up from the ground.

I winced as I read his lips, which suggested he was letting out a string of curses.

After the first mistake, more spikes shot up, only angering him further. Growling, he narrowed his eyes and flew towards the dummy, grabbing it carelessly before flying out the window.

Surprisingly, he ended up making it out the window, dummy slung over his shoulder. He landed on the ground triumphantly.

"Well, it looks like Bakugo and Hagakure w-"

Aizawa cut All Might off. "Lost. They lost."

Everyone let out a series of 'Huh?!'s' and Bakugo looked angry on the screen. Hagakure, turning, facepalmed - or that's what it looked like, due to the movement of her clothes.

Kaminari chuckled slightly, pointing towards the dummy. Bakugo looked down, showing that the dummy had been impaled by one of the stray spikes in his carelessness. As evidenced by Bakugo's yelling, he was clearly not happy.

Iida sighed. "I thought something like this might happen."

I laughed, rubbing the back of my neck. "I totally thought he had that."

Uraraka smiled awkwardly. "I'm pretty sure everyone did."

"Whatever, the round's over," Aizawa said. "Because the dummy was harmed, both teams lost."

"Now," All Might grinned, "We move onto the final battle!"

My eyes widened, and I suddenly realized the implications of his words. I gulped as I felt an icy stare pierce through me. My eyes trailed towards the source, settling on none other than Todoroki. And I couldn't help but feel everyone else was staring at me too.
