William and Virginia Granger were standing in the City Hospital waiting for the doctor to come with news of their daughter. She had been gravely injured in the fire which had occurred in their house. They had gone for a party with Daniel, their older son, but Rosaleen a.k.a Hermione had opted to stay home.

When they returned home, they saw their house engulfed in flames. The house had caught fire because of short-circuit. William had rushed in but they were too late. Fire men were called by the neighbours. They had barely managed to save Rosaleen from death.

It was a week since that incident. A day ago, Rosaleen had suffered a system collapse which had lead to heart stoppage. Doctors were about to pronounce her dead but as if by a miracle, her heart started beating and after that day she began to recover steadily. Only thing that doctor didn't know was Rosaleen was replaced by Hermione Granger, who was given a second chance by the Fate.

Daniel had been the most insistent to be with his younger sister. His parents had to pry him away from hospital and had sent him to their relatives.

Hermione opened her eyes. She saw blurry figures in front of her. Suddenly memories of her both lives came rushing and she felt blinding headache overtake her and she winced in pain. She felt hands steadying her. She opened her eyes and saw three figures in front of her. ' Parents' she thought unconsciously. 

Suddenly her mother pulled her close in a hug and said, " Oh Rosa, Are you okay ? I am never leaving you alone at home. See what happened." 

" No mum, I am fine. Don't worry. And please call me Hermione. You know how much I detest the name Rosaleen." Virginia let out short laugh. Yes the things were definitely returning back to normal.

William spoke up, " Rosaleen Hermione Granger, From now you are not staying at home alone. Am I clear ? "

" Yes dad " Hermione mumbled. Daniel couldn't keep himself away from Hermione . He threw himself over her and said, " Hermione, please don't do this again. I will give you all my books and whatever you wish for. But please don't do this to me." Dan was barely holding back his tears as he spoke to her.

" Wow, It's good to see dad playing the role of older brother. Now I know that my name came from here. I hope I don't mess things up.' Hermione thought and then said," Of course my dear brother" with a grin lighting her face.

Next few days were a torture for Hermione. She had to take several pills and injections throughout the day. Finally on 29th July she was discharged from hospital.

It was morning and Hermione was forbidden to leave her bed so she was resting when there was a knock on door. Her mother opened the door to see an eccentric looking woman on the door. She asked, " Does Ms Granger live here ? " 

" Yes . Do come in. " Virginia said with a smile.

Professor McGonagall smiled. She liked it when parents were welcoming, it did lessen her part of work, because it took less time to convince friendly people than rude ones. She entered the spacious living room and sat on the chair. Virginia returned into living room with William. Daniel too tagged with them.

" Well Mrs.....", William started when he was interrupted. " Professor McGonagall " She corrected. William continued, " Well Professor McGonagall , what is reason behind this visit ? "

" First of all I would like to meet Ms. Granger." McGonagall said. Virginia said, " Of course but as she is not well so we will have to go upstairs."

They all went upstairs. Professor saw the girl reading a book and introduced herself and then asked them, " Do you believe in magic? "

After hearing choruses of nos she lifted her wand and leviated a pen and said , " There is a magical world. And Ms Granger you are a witch and she is accepted into Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardy. Here is your acceptance letter." 

Hermione just stared at the letter with happiness. Her mother read the letter over her shoulder and asked, " Um well, Where will we get the stuff? pointing to the letter. "I will be here to take you to Diagon Alley where you get every thing . And since Ms Granger here is not well, I will be back in few days." Professor McGonagall said and left leaving the Granger's in their own world of imagination.
