Mind games: part 3
3rd person POV:
After catching (Y/n) up to speed upon him resetting his mind to prevent the psychic virus from taking over his mind, he and the other three work on a plan.
Misaka: You have no plan?
(Y/n): I have several plans. Simply non are that good.
Touma: You can time travel correct? Simply go back to the past and stop this mess.
(Y/n): Ehhh... it's not that simple...
Misaka: What about looking into the future to see what's going to happen with some of our plans?
(Y/n): Ehhh... Not really how that works...
Accelerator: Explain to us how time travel works then.
(Y/n): Hmmm... Alright... How to simplify the most complex subject in the world...
(Y/n): Hm-hm... Okay... Do you know how people like to say, time is a river?
Misaka: Yes.
(Y/n): Well they are wrong and stupid. Rid yourself of those people.
(Y/n): Time is like a Jenga tower.
(Y/n): Any of you play Jenga before? I have, in fact, I've played it with Egyptians once.
(Y/n): But I don't think they quite got the hang of it though.... They made these stupid pyramids instead of towers.
Accelerator: Get to the point!
(Y/n): Right, right! So time is like a five-dimensional game of Jenga. With every moment in time making up a block of the tower.
(Y/n): Actually, it's like a tower within a tower... Like seconds makes towers that act as blocks for minutes that get build up into the blocks for hour towers...
(Y/n): Hours to days, days to weeks, weeks to months, so on and so forth.
(Y/n): Like Jenga, you can remove a block and place it at the top. But in this practically infinite tower analogy...
(Y/n): Removing a block is changing the past.
(Y/n): You can only remove so many blocks in a single place before the tower falls over.
(Y/n): And some blocks are the support for the whole tower. In other words, a fixed point that cannot be changed.
(Y/n): And the future... To put it simply, it doesn't exist... Yet.
Touma: The future doesn't exist?
Accelerator: And what the hell is that supposed to mean?
(Y/n): Exactly that. It doesn't exist. But kinda does...
(Y/n): Okay, uhh... I can travel to the future, however, it's incredibly volatile.
(Y/n): It's in constant flux. Continually changing and blowing up.
(Y/n): Consider the future a fusion of every possible outcome ever until it becomes the present.
Accelerator: This has been the most convoluted way of saying "time is complicated".
(Y/n): You asked...
Accelerator: It doesn't matter. So what's the plan.
(Y/n): Stop the drugged up, Esper.
Accelerator: Easier said than done.
(Y/n): As long as I can make contact with them, it's just that simple.
Misaka: Sitting around here talking won't get us anywhere. Let's go look for her.
Touma: Where do we even start?
Misaka: My school.
Heading out, Accelerator carried Touma and (Y/n) across the air after the timelord reset the charge on his choker.
Misaka led the boys to her school where they found a surplus of people who shouldn't be there.
Touma: How will we recognize them?
(Y/n): They'll look like a monster.
Landing on the roof, Accelerator drops the two boys onto the roof.
Misaka: Let's split up and look for her. Make a scene if you find her.
(Y/n): I feel this psychic virus moving much faster here... That probably means we are in the right spot.
Touma, Misaka, and Accelerator enter the school and split up first, however (Y/n) stays on the roof to ponder.
(Y/n):(mind) I understand why I reset my mind, but why didn't I leave a note or something for myself?
(Y/n): Unless.....
He pulls up his sleeves to find his writing.
(Y/n): Ah-ha!
(Y/n):(reads written)...
(Y/n):... Don't eat pears? Tch... A little late for that...
Examining his body further for any more writing, (Y/n) hears footsteps behind him.
(Y/n):(mind) Those steps are too heavy to be a teenager, it's an adult... A stranger...
(Y/n):(mind) Only one? Then this cannot be the victims doing. It must be a third party... The one who caused this.
Turning around, (Y/n) was created by a man hiding under a hat and a trench coat.
(Y/n): Good day to you, sir. May I help you?
???: Apologies for interrupting you, however, I require assistance.
(Y/n):(tilts head) My assistance?
(Y/n): How can I possibly aid you?
???: Lend me your power?
(Y/n): For what exactly?
???: Survival.
(Y/n): Yours?
???: You can say ours.
(Y/n): Would you mind giving me a smidgen more detail?
???:.... Do you believe you are free?
(Y/n): I don't see a giant cage surrounding me, soooooo... Yes.
???: When I say free, I mean to freely travel time, with no one capable of stopping you.
(Y/n): Ah... You are one of those... I understand your concerns with me being able to freely change the past-
???: Let me stop you there to correct you. You cannot freely change the past.
(Y/n): I'm quite positive that I can.
???: I thought so too until I met them...
(Y/n): Them?
???: The force that governs time and the force that punishes time travelers.
(Y/n): Ah-huh... Then how come I've never seen any of them yet?
???: Through sheer luck, and my "assistance" they've not noticed you specifically.
???: But they have now...
(Y/n): And what have I possibly done to earn these people's attention?
(Y/n): I am absolutely careful when traveling through time!
(Y/n): Except for that one time where I accidentally invented rock and roll two centuries too early, but nothing significant happened!
???: It's not what you've done... But what I'm going to do.
He pulls out the progeπitor drug injection device with the drug ready.
???: My testing is complete... With this, I'll have enough power to move, even with these restraints.
(Y/n): I might not be grasping the full situation of this, however I know to stop you.
Fast-forwarding himself up to the mysterious man, (Y/n) grabs the device out of his hand.
(Y/n): Say goodbye to drugs.
Speeding up the life cycle of the device, (Y/n) attempts to turn it into dust, but finds his abilities were having no visible effect.
All that happened was the liquid in the injector changed color before the mysterious man snatched the device back.
???: Thank you for your assistance.
Injecting himself with the drug,(Y/n) attempts to stop the man, but his powers lose all effect on him.
???: With this settled... Let us fix this mess.
(Snap)
With a snap of his fingers, everyone in Academy city found themselves where they were before Misaki was injected with the drug.
There were a few exeptions. One was (Y/n), who stared at the space the mysterious man once stood in.
(Y/n):...... What sort of mind shenanigans is this!?
