Mind games: part 1
3rd person POV.
Shokuhou Misaki, the fifth rank level 5 esper of Academy city, nicknamed Mental Out.
A somewhat childish and playful person on the outside, and a cunning, and somewhat ruthless person on the inside. Misaki is a popular girl in her school.
Her ability allows her to control people, and do things related to memories.
Misaki was currently alone, walking through a certain park.
She was stopped by a few people.
She knew that there was going to be trouble, but for some reason when she tried to use her esper powers they had no effect.
???: We know who you are, and are prepared.
Misaki looked behind her to see a man in a hat and trench coat.
Misaka: What do you want?
???: We're here to offer you more.
Misaki: More?
???: Yes. More. More power that is.
???: You're popular, yes, but don't you want more?
He pulls out a device.
???: With this. You could have all of academy city.
Misaki: That sounds like more trouble than it's worth. I'll pass.
???: What a shame.....
The group of people behind Misaki then grabbed her and held her still. She struggled but was in no way strong enough to break free.
???: If you won't willingly take it...... Then I guess I'll force you.
The mysterious man injected the progeπitor drug into Misaki.
Misaki: No... Haha haha haha haha!
The group then let Misaki go as she began to laugh uncontrollably.
???: Let's take our leave.
The mysterious man and the group left.
Misaki slowly began changing.
(Play opening)
(Y/n) had arrived back in academy city, after he was done with some testing.
As he walked through the streets of Academy City, he realized he had a slight headache.
A few steps later the headache subsided, and he found himself a few blocks further than he originally was.
(Y/n): What the....?
Something was wrong, he could feel it.
(Y/n): I'm forgetting something... What am I forgetting?
He began looking around to see if this feeling was being caused by an outside source.
(Y/n): !?
Glancing around, (Y/n) took quick notice of all the civilians around looking directly at him. They were doing nothing else besides staring at him.
(Y/n): Hello, I'm (Y/n) (L/n). Can I help you?
They all spoke in unison.
Civilians: No.
(Y/n):.......... Okay then... Nice synchronized response. Don't know a lot of cities where you can find that in the people.
He began walking away, but all the civilians began following him. Their movements were all synchronized.
(Y/n) began moving faster and faster, and the civilians followed. (Y/n) only found more and more people like them.
(Y/n): I don't like this!
(Y/n):(grunts)
(Y/n): Stupid headache!
In a blink of an eye, (Y/n) was on a roof of a building with no headache.
(Y/n): What the bloody hell!?
(Y/n): Is this the work of a teleportation esper? That doesn't explain the people...
(Thud-thud-thud-thud)
A helicopter rose above the building he stood on, shining a spotlight directly on him.
(Y/n): Am I on TV?! If so, can I get paid, I so desperately need more allowance!
Helicopter speaker: I've seen your mind, I know what you can do.
The voice strangely reverberated in the air.
(Y/n): That's lovely! Not quite sure when you performed a craniotomy upon this skull... But lovely non the less!
(Y/n): Now, you wouldn't happen to be the cause of this issue, would you?
Helicopter speaker: Do not resist, assimilate to this new hive.
(Y/n): Perhaps I might be small but I am no bee! I shall assimilate to nothing!
(Crash)
The roof door was kicked in, as people flooded onto the roof.
Civilians: Willingness isn't necessary.
(Y/n): Oh dear...
With his headache returning, (Y/n) ran, but the moment his headache vanished, he was in a completely different area in a rush.
(Y/n): Huh-
(Slam)
He ran straight into a door.
(Y/n): Bloody... Again!?
Looking around to learn where he was now, (Y/n) discovered he was in an office building.
That's where the details of where he was ended, as he took quick notice that a swarm of people was running after him.
(Y/n): Oh no, fast zombies!
Opening the door, (Y/n) was chased down the building.
(Y/n): Need to find the exit... Exit if you can hear me, yell!
Civilians: Assimilate!
(Y/n): Not you- wait, why am I running? I can stop time!
Attempting to stop time, nothing occurred.
(Y/n): Or not, apparently I cannot stop time!
(Y/n):(mind) People acting under a hive mind... My abilities not properly working... And suddenly teleporting around the place...
(Y/n):(mind) What's the connecting factor to all this...?
Running into the door leading to the fire escape staircase of the building, (Y/n) attempts to use his abilities to accelerate its age.
To his relief, the door turns to dust, allowing him to run down the stairs.
(Y/n):(mind) Is it just time stop?
Slowing down time, (Y/n) finds himself being affected as well.
(Y/n):(mind) So something is interfering with my calculations?
(Y/n):(mind) Could it be the hive mind? But I'm not part of it or am-
Finding a hoard of people coming up the stairs, including the hoard following him down the stairs, (Y/n), in his child body, knew he needed an alternative escape.
Running to the wall, (Y/n) aged the wall into dust and reversed the process to block any followers.
Falling down the side of the building, (Y/n), with all his focus, slows downtime on his shoes.
Doing this, (Y/n) gave himself a "surface" which he could "land" on safely, then ride down that surface to the ground.
(Y/n): Phew...
Wiping off the sweat off his brow, the Timelord took noticed of something.
(Y/n): Huh?
Lifting up his sleeves, (Y/n) discovered his arms were filled with writing.
His writing.
