"boys, the cookies are all-"
sung-ha stopped right in the doorframe of namjoon's room when he saw what was going on.
the two boys were still on namjoon's floor, while jimin sat in namjoon's lap, making out with each other.
as soon as they heard sung-ha's voice, they practically leaped away from one another, onto opposite sides of the floor.
sung-ha was a bit surprised, eventually letting a smile settle on his face.
"well, well, well. looks like it's gonna be a merry christmas after all, then," sung-ha said, with a small laugh, "i've got christmas cookies out in the kitchen when you two are ready."
the two boys still remained frozen as sung-ha walked out of the room.
that is, until jimin broke out into laughter, finding the whole situation beyond embarrassing, but funny at the same time. namjoon was laughing as well, both the boys trying to calm down.
"we should have shut the door," jimin said, still laughing a little.
"yeah, that probably would have been a good idea."
the two just smiled at each other, feeling beyond happy with the atmosphere around them.
"i can't believe this is real," namjoon said, looking up again, "i can't believe you're real."
"i know. i'm pretty great, huh," jimin said, jokingly, with a smile.
neither of the boys could stop the constant smiles and giggles between them. they were ecstatic. it felt so surreal to get to hold and kiss each other and they couldn't believe it was actually happening.
"well... should we go get some cookies, then?" jimin asked, still grinning.
"yeah... i guess we should."
-
"those were the best ones yet, sung-ha. you outdid yourself," jimin said, taking the last bite of his cookie.
the two boys had gone out to the kitchen to eat some cookies, finding joon's grandfather out there waiting for them. namjoon was trying to keep the questions to a minimum and shut his grandfather down, but jimin didn't seem to have any problem explaining everything that had happened between them to sung-ha.
"glad you liked them," he said, "i'm gonna head to bed, but you boys have fun, alright?"
"okay! night," jimin said, "thanks again for the cookies!"
sung-ha headed to bed, leaving the two boys alone. joon's face was bright red, beyond embarrassed from the whole conversation, jimin not paying any mind to it and grabbing another cookie.
"so... what do you wanna do?" jimin asked, laughing a little when he looked over and saw how nervous namjoon seemed.
"...uh... i don't know," namjoon said, feeling even more nervous with jimin's gaze on him.
jimin smiled, reaching his hand over and intertwining it with joon's.
"do you want to go for a night walk?" jimin asked, "we could go to that lake by our school. it's really pretty there."
namjoon's lips parted a bit, looking over to jimin.
"you mean..," he started, "would it be like..."
"a date?" jimin asked, a small smile forming on his face, "yeah. if you want it to be."
the two just smiled at each other, laughing a bit. joon broke the eye contact, letting his head fall, hiding the blush that made it's way to his cheeks.
"okay," he said, smiling again.
-
"well... i guess so."
the two boys were walking in a circle, around the big frozen over lake, admiring how the moon shinned off of it beautifully. the snow on the trees glistened in the moonlight as well, making the atmosphere around them all the more idyllic.
the boys had been walking for a while, somehow getting lost in a particularly deep conversation.
"it's my fault," jimin said, "i act like i'm all together... like nothing fazes me. i make it out like i'm so confident and fearless," jimin said, with a sigh, "but honestly... it's bullshit. i still get nervous and... and doubt myself. i'm a human being. everyone feels that way sometimes. like... when my dad died. i was a wreck. that was a hard thing to go through... it's still hard sometimes. and... i am strong... and i pride myself on that, but i'm not bulletproof. i still need love and comfort, too, you know?"
namjoon nodded.
"i understand. really," namjoon said, "most people think i'm a pushover or like... soft. i mean... i guess i can't blame them. i'm so shy i can barely even talk to people. but... if people really took the time to get to know me, they would see that there's more to me. i'm not just "the shy nerdy kid," that everyone thinks i am."
jimin laughed with namjoon a bit, nodding.
"that's right," he said, "you're kim namjoon. writer, sailor moon-lover, action figure connoisseur, and amazing gift giver."
namjoon chuckled, shaking his head.
"...maybe i am a little soft."
jimin just laughed.
sure, to outsiders joon might seem like a softy. and, of course, there was no doubt in jimin's mind that namjoon was definitely very sweet and well mannered. but, jimin knew that if you took- even a little the time to get to know the boy, you would see a whole other side of him. you would see how dominant his personality really is.
he was always wanting to take care of others, make other people happy. he's driven and passionate about his work. he's also self-motivated and ready to take in any tasks that are thrown at him. really, jimin didn't know if he had ever met anyone in his life with such an alluring personality.
"it's so cold," namjoon said, changing the subject to something less heavy, seeing his breath as he breathed out the chilly winter air, his cheeks tinted pink.
"yeah," jimin said, "it's not too bad for me, though. luckily a really handsome boy bought me a cozy sweater to keep me warm."
namjoon wasn't paying much mind to what jimin said, focusing on trying to get his hands warm by rubbing them together at a fast pace. but as soon as he put his hands back into his pockets, he finally processed what jimin said.
joon stopped walking and turned to jimin with a smirk, "...oh, yeah?" he asked, "sounds like a pretty cool guy."
jimin laughed, finding it cute that namjoon was playing along with his little game.
"he is cool," jimin said, feeling some butterflies in his stomach as namjoon stared down at him, "he's a really good kisser, too."
namjoon laughed at first, then let his face settle as he stared down at the boy, the atmosphere becoming thick.
so, without hesitation, namjoon leaned down and put their lips back together.
and it was perfect. everything was just perfect.
their warm lips, meshing with the chilly air, the glistening moon shining down on them. it looked like a scene from a movie.
-
after many minutes of kissing went by, jimin finally pulled away, letting his head dig into joon's shoulder, his arms wrapped around his neck.
"i don't wanna leave you," jimin said, with a sigh, leaving a light feathery kiss to his neck, "but i should go. i have a big drive to my mom's tomorrow morning and she'll kill me if i don't go see her on christmas."
namjoon just sighed, with a nod, "okay."
jimin pulled his head up from joon's shoulder and stared at him, moving his small hands to grasp the sides of his face, "i'll miss you."
namjoon just smiled softly, with a small nod of his head, "i'll miss you more."
jimin pulled his hands away from joon's face and wrapped his arms around joon instead, giving him one last hug.
"it's midnight," he whispered, "at least we got to spend a little bit of christmas together, right?"
joon just laughed.
"right."
