Tempest
Lightning floats
'cross studded skies,
Twixt outlined cups
And diamond eyes.
Thunder crashes
Through late-night air,
Echoes through our world,
Then leaves us standing there.
We stare into
Broken visions,
Split apart by pounding rain
That turns us into fissions.
The long-gone quiet
Afore a storm
Has left us with its counterpart;
And this tempest us has torn.
We are broken,
Lying here,
Surrounded by such majesty,
Yet quivering in fear.
But as we watch,
It floats away,;
And on its wings of fury
Comes to us a brand new day.
