Irony
Shadows fall across
My starlight seams,
Because you never seem to
Notice all my dreams.
The seven winds
Dance across my face;
But to me they feel
Like arsenic and lace.
I'd rather have your touch,
Featherlight across my eyes,
Than a thousand kisses
That stem from Cupid's lies.
Waves crash against my mind,
Laughing as I try every single day,
For they know what I will not admit:
I have no cards left to play.
The game is over
Before it has begun,
And so the tears sit down inside me
As I lay beneath the sun.
Birds flash across my vision
And I wish again upon a star
That for just once in our lives
You'd stay the way you are.
Instead you're always changing,
Trying to fit in;
Leaving me behind
To deal with all your sins.
The cloudscape stretches out
Below, as far as I can see,
And for a moment I breathe in,
And let the irony astound me.
You never loved me;
When you said you did, you lied,
But I will always love you,
Even once I die.
