Barely Awake
BARELY AWAKE
Waking up to bright morning sun,
Though I sleep, the day has begun.
It’s hard to pull myself from here,
Hard to leave this warmth for the cold
Outside my bed; all truth be told,
Within me is a constant fear:
If I get up off my mattress,
The dreams inside me will confess
That they wanted to disappear.
