'heyyy roro,' boyle started as he walked up to rosa's desk

'don't call me that.'

'okay, well holt wants us out on surveillance with amy, there's a drug ring we gotta get evidence on.'

'alright, i'll meet you both in the parking lot in 10.'

'you sure you're okay rosa?'

'i'm fine, i just didn't sleep.' the sergeant hadn't taken her eyes off her paperwork the whole time. 'i'll be down in a little bit.'

charles walked away, grabbing his jacket before walking into the elevator. when rosa was sure nobody was looking, she picked up the snow globe gina had given her and quickly kissed the top of it before she rose from her chair and also left the bullpen.

10 minutes later, the three of them were out in the police surveillance van.

'how long have we been getting evidence on these guys for?' rosa asked as she scanned over some of the information they had in the van.

'only a few months, but the 6-4 had some stuff on a couple of them from about 6 months ago,' amy told her

'one of these guys is from a case from years ago. he got sent away for 18 months but all the other guys got 10 years.' rosa said, annoyed

'why didn't he get 10 years?' charles asked from the front seat

'he wore gloves at every single scene. there was zero evidence that he was at any of them, so he only got done for possession instead of all the other stuff.'

'we're gonna get him this time tho,' amy reassured. 'we've got pictures of him with stacks of drugs in his apartment to start with.'

'still might only get done for possession,' rosa pointed out. 'i know you're tryna make me feel better or whatever but it's not gonna work because he's gonna get away with it again like he did last time.' amy opened her mouth to talk, 'leave it alone, santiago.'

'ig you can't keep running around, captain holt said we gotta be quiet. momma's gonna be back soon, okay?' gina told her oldest child. 'hopefully,' she added under her breath as the elevator door dinged

'hey?' rosa walked up to her desk confused

'hey,' gina smiled, walking over and kissing her fiancé. 'ig wanted to see you.'

rosa smiled slightly. 'well if iggy wanted to me,' she turned her attention to the girl who was jumping about and picked her up, 'i guess i can take a five minute break to tickle iggy.' the girl squirmed in her arms as she said it.

'you having a good day?' gina asked

'yeh, it's okay.' rosa stopped tickling the child's sides and turned to gina. 'you probably don't, but you know a couple of years ago i had that case where there was one guy who only got 18 months in jail? ellis parker, you remember him?'

'i remember the hot girl that i used to stare at all the time being annoyed with everything. you beat the hell out of a printer and you didn't even turn it on.'

'yeh well-'

'momma,' iggy interrupted

'one minute ig, i just gotta talk to mommy about something.' she kissed the child's cheek before looking at gina again. 'he's back and i couldn't get you three out my head all day. he knew my face and my last name and my precinct and probably my first name, i just feel like you three aren't safe in the apartment.'

'what?' gina questioned, surprised

'can you just stay here for two hours? you can have the whole break room, i'll make sure no one goes in there. i'm gonna ask amy and charles to help me find this guy and hopefully we'll be done in a couple of days.' she smiled slightly, trying to reassure gina

'ro, cases like this always make you burn out. you never go home so you can solve them quicker , you can't just leave us for a week so you can solve a case.'

'i promise you that won't happen, i have you three now. i'm gonna make sure you're all okay.' the latina turned back to the child in her hand as she made her way to the break room, 'what's up ig?'

'mommy sayed iggy can go on a bike.'

'you mean like your bicycle? yeh we can go out on your bike,' rosa sat her daughter down on the pool table. 'but you're gonna stay here for a little bit with mommy and wait til i finish work.'

'iggy have a cookie?'

'i don't have a cookie, but...' the sergeant searched around in her pocket, 'i have a dollar.' the girl in front of her smiled, 'you can get some chocolate buttons and share with isla, okay?'

'you all ready to go home?' rosa asked as she walked into the break room

isla giggled and put her arms out for the latina to pick her up, which she did, before playing with her hair.

'babe are we okay? like are we gonna be okay, we're not gonna die right?'

'i'm sorry, i didn't mean to scare you before. course we're gonna be okay. you've got me and im not gonna let anything happen to any of you.'

'what about you?'

rosa pulled her girlfriend into a hug as much as she could when she already had a child in her arm. 'what about me? i doubt anything's gonna happen anyway, but if it does i'll be okay. as long as you three are okay, i'm okay.'

'i don't want anything to happen to you.'

'nothing's gonna happen babe.'

'promise me?' gina questioned

'you'll be okay and so will i.' the readhead was still unconvinced, but went along with it. 'you wanna get home now?'

gina just nodded as she pulled away from rosa, 'come on princess, let's go.' she signalled for the child to give her her phone back as rosa and isla left the room and they followed behind.

there had been an uncomfortable silence in the house since both girls had gone to bed, rosa on one side of the couch and gina on the other, neither of them saying a word.

'you want a drink?' rosa eventually broke the silence

gina shook her head, 'i just wanna know that everyone's gonna be okay.'

'i'm sorry i scared you. charles and amy know i'm worried and this is our top priority case until we get the guy. i'm not gonna let anything happen to you,' rosa opened her arms and gina collapsed into them

'it's not me i'm worried about ro, it's you.'

'we'll be okay, all of us.' the latina ran her fingers through the auburn locks

'i know, you just kinda freaked me out. we're gonna be okay.'

'i didn't mean to, i was scared too. i missed you all this morning and then as soon as i saw it was the same guy none of you left my brain for the rest of the day.'

'it's okay, we're all okay.' gina cuddled further into rosa's chest. 'i love you.'

'i love you too.' the cop continued to play with the auburn curls in her hand until they were both sent to sleep.

a/n: i have finally, finally decided how to end this and i'm not gonna change it at all. i'm already getting ideas of how i'm gonna write it too so i think i only have a few more chapters left after this one (as long as i don't change the ending AGAIN) and this fic will be done :)
