Chapter 2: Darlene
I stood at the door to Lana's room, hoping and praying. She still hadn't woken up. I paced outside her door and felt and hand on my shoulder.
"Lady Legassa, pacing will do her no good." I turned toward the speaker.
"I am sorry, Lord Aragorn, I am just...nervous." Aragorn smiled.
"Worry is like a illness, it tends to spread." I nodded. I brushed past Aragorn, and made my way to the graves. Some of the names where familiar.
Ms. Figg, from next door...
Hannah Kreech, who was killed in a car crash...
And...I caught my breath, tears flooding my eyes. Jane Kira Johnstone. My sister. I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned, and there was Aragorn. Of course he followed me. He was worried.
"Who is the girl? On the grave?" I sighed.
"She is- was my little sister. She died in an accident." In reality it was a tree being cut down, but I could never reveal the past Earth. It was to dangerous. Our story was we came from across the sea, from a distant land. "She came here 7 years ago."
I gently brushed Aragorn's hand away and walked to the gates. I saw many people arriving. I watched from behind a pillar, and ran my hand over the design. Flawless. I tuck a piece of hair that flopped in my face back. In doing so, I was reminded I was a human, unlike Isla. We had determined Isla was an elf; I was a woman, one of the Dunedin, in fact; Lana was a hobbit; and Alyssa was a dwarf.
I looked around. The council was in a week. As was the forming of the Fellowship. I knew, with all my heart, I would be going with them.
