Chapter One - Homecoming
I fiddled with my phone as I looked anxiously around the Dublin airport. Mycroft said he was sending someone to come pick me up, and introduce me to my family. I scanned the group of people waiting with signs at the bottom. I assumed I was looking for a man in a suit. I scanned the faces among the crowd...
"LIEM?!" I shouted scrambling down the escalator to the chagrin of the middle aged woman who I bumped into. His face broke into a grin. I ran toward him wrapping him in my arms.
"What the heck are you doing here?" I gasped happily.
"Mycroft sent me." Liem smiled.
"Oh I'm so glad you are here!" I said hugging him again. I felt tears come to my eyes.
"You okay Kiwi?" Liem said with a jesting tone.
"I thought you stopped calling me that went I was 12?" I groused.
"I think it deserves a revival." Liem chuckled.
"Urg." I grumbled.
"But seriously Keyland whats wrong?" Liem said anxiously.
"We will talk later. In a less crowded place." I suggested.
"Fair enough, Ready to meet your real family?!" Liem said linking my arm through his.
"Nope!" I said cheerily.
"Great lets go!" Liem laughed.
We found a cab and soon we were off. I got more antsy as we neared the suburban area of town...
What if they didn't like me? What if they thought my job was too dangerous. What if we were total opposites???
"Keyland," Liem said, noticing my finger tapping on my leg. "Its going to be alright..."
"I know." I said softly.
We finally pulled up to the house. I gulped as I got out of the house. Liem gave me a reassuring smile and knocked on the door...
There was a sound of commotion inside. Suddenly the door was flung open. The man who opened the door was my father. I could just feel it. He looked at me for a moment.
"Keyland?" He asks softly. I nod. "My lord you look just like your mother!" He smiled sadly, he pulled me in for an awkward hug. Tears filled my eyes.
"And who is this strapping young fellow?" My father said pulling away.
"Erm, this is Liem." I said.
"Pleasure to meet you sir." Liem said respectfully.
"And you both as well! Oh where are my manners, do come in!" My dad smiled.
"She should be here soon..." Dad said anxiously. "Oh here is your brother Devon and his Fiance Amelia." The girl waved, as dad lead on.
"And this is our cat Sprinkles." Dad said gesturing to a grouchy looking tabby cat.
"This here is the kitchen, and here we have the living room, and downstairs is the lab, and why are you staring behind me?" The man said realizing I was no longer paying attention.
"MOM??????" I gasped, staring at the woman in the white lab-coat.
