Powers Shown!

The group sat at the table in silence as Lapis's spirits showed the field. The tower had gained territory of Vientown and the forest. It was slowly approaching the two towns north and south of Vientown. Ice hummed.

"Crawford's taking his time gaining territory unlike last time..." Lapis nodded as it shifted inside. A huge argument had started between Crawford and Dijon. Crepe split it up by nearly breaking his cage, making the duo yelp. The group chuckled at that.

"And Crepe's going to kill someone." Seafoam hummed as the brunette turned away. Dijon instantly tried to talk to him while Crawford turned away from the couple.

"Why doesn't Crepe break out? He has the capabilities." Ice hummed.

"What if Crawford attacks him? He has nothing to defend himself with." Admiral huffed.

"The only thing I truly remember from the Dark Lord incident was him keeping people from attacking. I actually remember Sven getting pushed into a tree by something because he tried to attack the group." Ice hummed.

"I still don't know if that was Crepe or what. But knowing how little Crepe actually fights, someone else did that." Lapis hummed.

"Or he's hiding something bigger than what we see." Ice nodded thoughtfully as Lapis pulled out a letter. "Marcus, this came for you." Marcus raised an eyebrow as he took the letter. He opened it and his eyes flashed.

"What?" Wendy perked up at the excitement in the operator's eyes. He smiled as he read it aloud.

"Dear Marcus,

I know it's been a while since we last talked, but I hope you are doing well.

This is your lovely mothers letting you know that due to the crisis in Aloje, we are coming to your location to drop you LK items off. Sorry for such a long wait.

See you soon,
Mothers Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather."

Lapis frowned as Marcus grinned.

"Why do your mothers give you a nice warning while my mother makes me go crazy?" Marcus paused as Ice busted out laughing. Ice pulled himself together by grabbing his mouth.

"Um... because your mother is evilly and smartly good at her job as a mother." Lapis growled lightly as Ice muttered his words.

"You, my dear VK, are on thin ice."

"I'm always on ice."

"That's not-" The group giggled as Lapis sighed. "Cheater..." Ice cocked a steady smile.

"You are way too easy..." Lapis huffed as he looked at the screen. The scene had gone quiet as they stared at Crawford and Crepe's argument. It was very one sided until Crepe snapped, causing the entire room to flinch. Ice gulped.

"I'm glad to not be there. I would be freaking out." Barlow raised an eyebrow.

"How powerful is Crepe?" Ice let out a nervous laugh.

"Crepe... is able to control a room a lot more deadly than Cedar... While Cedar and Crepe use the same techniques, Crepe uses his a whole lot more effectively than Cedar. Cedar has little to no control over his and instinct takes over occasionally. Crepe..."

He glanced at the screen as Crepe made the room quickly have a panic attack.

"Knows when to pull the right cards. Which is why he's the best VK. He has more control over his abilities." Admiral paused.

"Is that why you guys won't fight him?" Lapis huffed.

"No... he stops those with his skills. He'll get mad and everyone will stop fighting to calm him down. Or he'll pull some skilled card and make the entire room freeze and then he's in control." The LKs gulped as they looked at the screen. Silence seemed to fill the building.

"That's... scary..." Seafoam stood up and smiled.

"We should do a representation of our powers. Since this is a VK and LK battle, we must work together. And we don't know what each other can do." Lapis sighed.

"Then let me go first. Since I'm the only real VK, I'll make mine quick."

~~~
Lapis stretched as they walked into Ringtown. The town was protected from the dark aura thanks to Lapis's work. Lapis hummed.
"Let the fun begin, right?" The group chuckled as he pulled something out of his pocket. Seafoam instantly noticed it as one of Cedar's cards.
"Why..." Ice stopped her.
"Wait for it." Lapis held up the card and several spirits circled it. He let it float there for a moment before he reached up and grasped a handful of spirits. Flames roared to life as he held his hand out. Ice smiled as the others stared.
"His father allowed him to be able to turn spirits and other spiritual and magical forms into different elements. He mostly goes for spirits into fire, but he does do others. His parents also gave him their own personal skills, such as super smarts and strengths. But I think his best skill is turning those elements into art."
Lapis paused as he looked at the flames. He took a moment before he placed them on the ground and held out his hand. Instantly, the flames started dancing up to meet his hand and started forming something. Within a few minutes, the flames had formed a small figure of a Minun. He gulped before turning to them. Ice smiled.
"I think you're shaking..."
"I don't normally use my magic. Hush." The group giggled as the flames vanished. The card floated down and into Lapis's hand. He put it away and went over. Ice smiled.
"Did Cedar give that card to you for more accessibility?" Lapis nodded lightly.
"I may be able to use the spirits, but summoning them takes a little while... He gave it to me after-" Lapis paused, pondering his next words. "-He insulted me with memories..." Ice sniffled a laugh.
"That's what you're going to call it?"
"Do you think I want to die by his hands? What would you call it?"
"Massive destruction of Fiore."
"That almost summarizes what happened!"
"It should be called what it is."
"Have you not been paying attention to poor me and Dijon?"
"No..."
"We're not allowed to talk about it without either being silenced or damaged! I think I'll pass on that." Ice rolled his eyes at the VK's distress.
"Off the field. My turn." Lapis huffed as Ice went forward and he stepped beside Scarlet.
"Jerk..." Ice stretched as he smiled at him. Snowflakes danced around the cold mage's hands as he casted.
"Icy Aroma!"
The snowflakes danced around the town, a calm smell followed. He walked over with a smile, hardly paying attention as the flakes continued their dance. Marcus hummed.
"You really take 'leave it be' to a whole new level, huh?" Ice smiled.
"With both of my parents as expert casters, it doesn't take me long to grasp magic and talents. So something like this is barely anything. But going against Cedar or someone like that... I'm nothing more than a beginner." He held out his hand and the flakes returned to him. "It takes years for someone to get this far. Which is why I stayed away and took all of my time working on my skills in the mountains." Wendy hummed.
"Interesting..." Seafoam stepped forward with a smile. The LKs were able to change into their uniforms, so it was easier. She smiled as her wings came out.
"Magic experts... huh?" She flew up and grinned. "A spirit and a guardian, both of ice and heart. Something that seems true but once you look at it at a different angle, it's... unique." She giggled at Wendy and Lapis's reaction. "Be realistic, you two. As Tinkerbell's daughter, flight is the one thing I must be able to do or else how to get around?" She flew down and held out a hand to Marcus, who panicked. "Come on, Marcus! You should join me!" Marcus stepped back and raced behind Wendy.
"Not right now! Thank you!" The group giggled.
"Ok!" She shot into the air as her wings shimmered. Wendy's eyes sparkled as Rednal smiled.
"Well... the rest of us have to do ours..." Marcus gulped as the blonde stepped forward. "Seafoam, try to not get in my way!" Seafoam nodded as he raised his hands.
"Seasons of the world,
Enter my palms.
Speak that war we seek
And make no calms!
Lasting Evergaze!"
Four lights danced into his hands as he aimed at the air. Seafoam fired a shot of yellow dust and he fired at it. A flash hit the air before disappearing. He smiled as Ice hummed.
"Those four really did help you... I was doubting it with Cedar's unstableness and the girls' fights." Rednal smiled lightly as Wendy turned to Ice.
"Why are they always fighting?"
Lapis pulled out a screen to look inside the room. The group was laughing as the girls were arguing. Crawford was hissing, but his attempts of splitting them were weak. Cedar finally shut them up by growling, causing the girls to quickly stop and come up with a comeback to calm the VK's nerves. Ice sighed.
"It started back after Parchment's family had a literal war on the isle. The two think they can see who had the better parents because it's Jafar and Evil Queen vs Maleficent and Hades. If I had to pick, The Evil Queen is winning while her husband lost in the first round. But they have been going at it for who knows how long trying to win. I'm sure it's not helping the situation." Wendy paused.
"Why not?" Ice gulped.
"It's because Cedar's condition isn't stable enough to keep going. But we won't be able to get to them until we get an opening. And by that time? Cedar will be broken into mere shards."
The group looked at the screen as Silence filled the room. Wendy paused. Cedar was a good kid. He didn't deserve this. She looked at Cedar's general direction of the room. He was cut off from the others with two cages circling him. Ice huffed.
"I'm sure Cedar could handle it if he wasn't trapped. He hates being trapped more than his motherly instincts hating seeing people hurt. I'm sure he'll be snapping in the next hour." Lapis gulped as the screen vanished.
"I hope not..." Scarlet stretched as she and Luana stepped out to the field.
"Well... better keep going! Luana?"
The dark haired girl nodded to her teal haired friend as she pulled out a sword. Wendy hummed. She expected much. These two were daughters of warriors. It was easy to identify the easily trained art of swordsmanship and fighting techniques. Barlow and Admiral stepped forward after a while with a hum.
"Ready?" Admiral nodded as she placed down the water bottle.
"Your move." She stepped back as he lifted his hand. The water went up and quickly grew in size. It went into the form of a bubble as his hands circled the air. She raced forward and jumped inside. A glow encased her as she entered. A tail replaced her legs as she smiled. Wendy hummed.
"Is that upon contact?" Admiral shook her head as she poked her head out.
"Nope. I have to activate it. It would suck if it was on contact because then I can't use my styler." Wendy nodded as the duo dropped their magic. Spenser stepped forward as Sven sighed.
"I can't really show mine... but me and Crepe aren't too far off. My voice is a weapon. My only difference is that I use songs and poems to calm and control. I can't do it like he can..." Ice smiled.
"Thank Arceus for that. We don't need two of Crepe." The group chuckled as Spenser coughed lightly.
"You guys done getting yourselves killed?" Lapis paused.
"No." Ice growled, making him jerk slightly. "I-i-i-i mean yes!" Ice huffed.
"Better." He smiled at the green haired male, who's face had concern written across it. "Go ahead, Spenser." He smiled as a soft glow circled him. He lifted up as Wendy hummed.
"I can almost see what his skills are." Sven chuckled.
"He has all the skills that his parents did in their stories. His mother used potions and other beverages/foods to get around Wonderland while his father used the help of Tinkerbell and the Lost Boys to get around Neverland. If you know their stories, you know his skills."
Sven wasn't wrong. From flight and travel to form shifting and adjusting, Spenser was set. Wendy scanned the group as Seafoam flew over. She knew Marcus hadn't gone, but he was waiting for his parents. Her eyes fell on Joel and she frowned.
"Joel..." The blonde ranger froze at her voice. "What about you?" He gulped.
"Huh? Oh... uh..." Spenser chuckled at Joel's distress.
"Just go. The rest of us went. And Marcus is waiting for his parents."
Joel shuddered as he went forward. Wendy hummed. She never saw Joel being scared. He paused as he glanced back briefly and turned away. Spenser hummed.
"Who else is laughing at the fact that the second biggest showoff of the Fiore Sector is being a scaredy cat?" Joel shot a glare at him before gulping.
"I'm not scared. Just... wasn't prepared..." Seafoam hummed.
"Now that you mention it... you really didn't show your powers before I made the uniforms. You just talked to me about it."
Joel let out a nervous laugh as he raised his hand. A hum filled the air as he looked around quickly. Sven frowned.
"Sadly... we don't know what to expect. His mother is Snow White, but several other Lightwings have his blessing. He's like a Lightwing version of Crepe. So we don't know what he can do."
Joel took a deep breath as he whispered something under his breath. It was too quiet for Wendy to hear, but she was able to get something out of wind. A soft harmony filled the air from the wind as a glow encased him. She then realized it. The wind was speaking, no... singing his words. And each word brought something forward.
"Everybody loves the things you do
From the way you talk
To the way you move
Everybody here is watching you
'Cause you feel like home
You're like a dream come true
But if by chance you're here alone
Can I have a moment?
Before I go?
'Cause I've been by myself all night long
Hoping you're someone I used to know
You look like a movie
You sound like a song
My God this reminds me, of when we were young"
The wind danced through the air to the sky, where a light followed and crossed the skies.
"Let me photograph you in this light
In case it is the last time
That we might be exactly like we were
Before we realized
We were scared of getting old
It made us restless
It was just like a movie
It was just like a song
I was so scared to face my fears
Nobody told me that you'd be here
And I'd swear you moved overseas
That's what you said, when you left me
You still look like a movie
You still sound like a song
My God, this reminds me, of when we were young"
The lights in the sky shifted to a rainbow as a twister started to circled him.
"Let me photograph you in this light
In case it is the last time
That we might be exactly like we were
Before we realized
We were sad of getting old
It made us restless
It was just like a movie
It was just like a song"
He gulped as the wind took over. The LKs smiled while Wendy, Lapis and Ice stared. Amazement crossed their faces as they watched. He was able to join in again after a moment.
"When we were young
(When we were young)
When we were young
(When we were young)
It's hard to win me back
Everything just takes me back
To when you were there
To when you were there
And a part of me keeps holding on
Just in case it hasn't gone
I guess I still care
Do you still care?
It was just like a movie
It was just like a song
My God, this reminds me
Of when we were young"
A small light appeared in front of him as he smiled and the wind followed his lead. The light seemed to listen as it started to form something.
"When we were young
(When we were young)
When we were young
(When we were young)
Let me photograph you in this light
In case it is the last time
That we might be exactly like we were
Before we realized
We were sad of getting old
It made us restless
Oh I'm so mad I'm getting old
It makes me reckless
It was just like a movie
It was just like a song
When we were young"
The light touched his hand as something appeared. He let a steady breath out before he sat down. Seafoam pulled out her notebook as Spenser went over to him.
"From what he told me, it's almost like a combination of Sven, Spenser and Lapis. He can use different elements of silhouettes, music and the world to create, control and calm the area around him." Spenser helped him over with a soft smile.
"But he has a major magic weakness. Due to his parents being more of alchemists, he doesn't have any base mana."
Joel had a small, playful smile as he weakly tried to reason with the green haired male. It was very difficult for some people to hold back as they giggled at him. Ice smiled as he took Joel from Spenser and got him onto his back.
"C'mon. Let's get back and try to think of something."
~~~

The group got back as the dark aura surged. Ice placed Joel down and touched his shoulder. He glanced over as the others went to the table to discuss. He turned back to Joel and sighed as Joel rubbed his eyes.

"Back to Earth, Joel." The playful smile reappeared as he looked up. "I know... you're a little drained. But you got to pull yourself together."

He pulled Joel's cheek, gaining a small giggle from him. Ice hummed before tapping the back of his neck, sending a cold shiver down his spine. Joel snapped out of the daze as a squeak escaped him. Ice chuckled as Joel shivered. Joel's gaze met the cold VK's as he hissed.

"Dude!"

"Welcome back. Want some soup?" Joel shuddered as he nodded. Ice smiled calmly before grabbing a mug and grabbing some soup. He helped him over to the others and smiled. "I fixed him!" Lapis frowned.

"What did you do? He looks like he just got shocked." Ice smiled.

"He wasn't responding correctly, so I did an old, cold trick with a little spice." Lapis sighed as he turned to Joel.

"You ok?"

"It's cold..."

"Don't focus on it and it'll warm up. Trust me. I've gone through it enough to know." Joel gulped as he sipped on his soup. Ice sat down as Seafoam hummed.

"Now that I think about it... Wendy..."

"Hm?"

"You don't have any powers, do you? Like... no specialty from your parents or blessings?" Wendy shook her head.

"Not really... nothing I can think of." She hummed. "And Crawford didn't either until now." Lapis gulped.

"And we don't know who did it..."

He pulled up the screen to the inside of the tower. Dijon had almost successfully escaped from the looks of it. He was being sent back up to the others in a new trap, more of a hand this time. The others were knocked out as they were getting back up. Cedar hadn't moved as he kept his back to the others. Lapis sighed as he flicked it away.

"That's not a good sign... we need to start figuring out a plan." Wendy stretched.

"You guys get started... I'm going to go take a walk to cool off. No killing while I'm gone." Lapis sent a glare around the room as everyone huffed. She went out with a sigh.
