What was I thinking? the gentleman was just trying to help. I need to get hold of myself, I need to finally get Jeremy off my mind. he was gone and never coming back. I need to start dating.  I have never had a serious date all my life. In my mind Jeremy was my boy friend. Fanny once told me I was loosing it and now I believed her.

I almost refused a kind gesture from a thoughtful stranger all because I felt he sounded like Jeremy.

Thank goodness I was able to regain composure and thanked him for his kind gesture, if he had noticed my initial attitude, he didn't show it nor said anything about it, instead he asked where I was headed. Looking at my surroundings while we settled in his vehicle I explained my predicament to him and he graciously offered to help out.

As we drove off he said to me "There is a hotel around the corner I will take you there" .

Surprise writen all over my face, my wet hair plastered to my face, I guess giving me a funny look.

"What" he asked

"I don't even know your name and you want to help me" I said to him.

"Gabriel" he replied instead.

"Thank you Gabriel I-i how will I..I" I stuttered I have never had this kind of favour before from a stranger in this case Gabriel.

"It's nothing he said looking at where I was sitting, then taking his attention back to the road, "I ain't buying the hotel for you". That kinda calmed me down and we laughed.

I was finally able to reach my pa, who was already agitated.
"calm down pa, it was the rain" I relayed everything that happened, the incident about the bad taxi and finally about Gabriel. Papa thanked Gabriel and asked if I was fine.

"yes papa, I'm fine now, I will be home tomorrow" I told him reassuringly.

"Going up North" Gabriel asked

"Yes, Going up north" I replied. he must have over heard me and papa

"Oh really, a colleague of mine will be travelling up north to visit his family for the weekend, would you mind travelling with him"

My first intentions was to reject the offer, I looked at him as he drove through the rain and noticed how genuine his intentions were, Though I wasn't comfortable with this particular gesture of his, not knowing if the other stranger would be as nice as Gabriel, but nevertheless i agreed, not knowing why. Okay! the truth is I actually felt comfortable with him, assuming that any friend of his would have same trait, in the few minutes we have been together I already knew a little about him. He was open minded and seemed like a calm person, he worked with chevron, he has been working there for a year now.

"I will give him a call right away, he would be leaving very early tomorrow, he should pass by the hotel to pick you up.

Hmm, I did inwardly, I would be traveling for three long straight hour with this person. Papa will be devastated if I ever said this to him.

Now, you would be wondering why didn't I just board a plane why all the stress, reasons was I have always been scared of flying, so, flying was a no no for me.

Gabriel spoke for awhile into the phone telling the other person about his new friend and he wanted his help, I watched the expression play on his face through my peripheral vision. Seems the other person's wasn't down to helping anyone.

He concluded with "she is just a harmless girl, she doesn't bite man"

And that got me alittle worried.
I didn't like the idea of been forced on someone. If he ain't willing I can surely use the bus station I told Gabriel.

"No friend of mine will be using a bus station" he said back.

Hmm, friend I said and smiled a little. For one's someone called me a friend without looking at me in a certain way, like they were about to devour me.

I think the other person finally agreed and Gabriel had a very broad smile on his face, showing all his beautiful features I never noticed.

We stopped at the hotel he talked about and offer to pay, he eventually paid for a room after much persuading from him. I couldn't believe this, like someone you just met paying your bills and being nice.

"I will see you tomorrow morning" he said after I have settled into my hotel room.

"Thank you so much" I said shyly "you have been so kind."

His eye brows furrowed, "don't tell me you do not get favours"

"I don't" I began truthfully, "they always want something in return". His face contracted more, like he didn't believe me.

"I'm serious" I replied his facial expressions.

"No, I believe you, I was actually wondering why__Catch some sleep Wendy. I will see you tomorrow" he said walking towards the door. Good night he said and left without waiting for my reply.

"Good night" I said to myself.

As early as 6am the following morning Gabriel was in my hotel room, I was already up and functioning and that was a surprise to me because I wasn't a morning person, but because I needed to travel, I woke up really early which was a record breaker for me. I was already up and ready by the time Gabriel came knocking.

He wasn't on cooperate attire like the one he was wearing the previous day, he was on some casual wears this time around, a polo shirt and a jean, showing all his muscular arms and body. My eyes dropped to his jean, where his protruding dick bulging out, like it wanted freedom from his Jean. His next words made my eyes flying right up to his.

"You like what you see"

No... I mean yes... Oh gosh I mean No" I stuttered feeling so embarrassed. What's wrong with me.

"I understand" he replied with a smirk on his face.

"have you had breakfast yet" he asked coolly changing the topic like I didn't just openly gaze at his sex.

At the mention of breakfast my belly cried out, I remembered I didn't get the chance to take anything yesterday, after Gabriel left I went straight to bed.
I guess he heard my tummy rumbling and offered breakfast.

"Let's get something before Jeremy comes".

Did he just say Jeremy, my brain and body went on over drive, Gosh Wendy what's wrong with you, stop torturing yourself, even if he did mention Jeremy there are hundreds of Jeremy in the country will you get yourself together.

I walked slowly behind him as we left the room for breakfast. One our way down to the hotels restaurant, Gabriel's phone rang,

"hey brother man, where you at" he said to the other person

The other guy replied

"We are about to go get breakfast, do you care to join us" Gabriel continued. The other stranger replied and Gabriel replied smiling "okay man" and he ended the call.

I assume he is around I said facing Gabriel.

Yes, he just got in.

I was immediately tensed again didn't know why I was but I guessed it was connected to Gabriel's name calling earlier.

Calm your tits Wendy, you're down south, there is noway Jeremy would be here, he is in Denmark studying, stop over thinking it, I battled within myself.

"We would just meet him at the lobby and we all take breakfast together" Gabriel brought me out of my thoughts but I still couldn't get what he said

I blinked multiple times, "what"

I said he would meet us here, I want to introduce you two, so you both can get familiar before you hit the road. He finished.

"that's great" I smiled immediately my phone rang, it was papa, "sorry I have to take this" I told him and stepped aside my back to him.

"hey! Papa" I called,

Hi baby girl, you up so early he replied

Yes papa, I will soon be hitting the road, I need to be up on time

That's good my girl......

I froze when I heard "Hey man"

I couldn't get the rest of papa's words as my suspicions were right, it was Jeremy I heard his voice, all my feelings came flooding back hitting me so hard, this was Jeremy I told myself my back still turned to the two men, I knew it, I could feel it now unlike Gabriel's, I could feel his eyes burning through my back as Gabriel called my name, I guess for us to be introduced. I told papa bye and turned around.

It was him standing all glorious, looking all matured with the height of a Greek god. Neatly tailored like He just stepped out of a GQ magazine.

I stayed transfixed, couldn't move, my palms became sweaty, our eyes met and I was disappointed there was no atom of surprise on Jeremy's face, better still his face was expressionless. I felt sad instantly, how come he wasn't surprised to see me. I quickly composed myself and walked closer to the two men trying to hard to walk steadily..

"Meet Wendy, Gabriel introduced, and this is...

"Jeremy" cutting Gabriel off he introduced him self with an edge to his tone, without an outstretched hand..
