REVIEW: I read this book for a number of reasons. Firstly, it's been on my 'must-read' list of books for as long as I can remember. Secondly, I wanted to read it for my EPQ (an extended essay project) which is all about mental health depictions in literature.

I LOVED THIS BOOK. Like adored it. It is a mixture of everything I love in a book: it had suspense, horror, gore, mystery-solving and exciting characters. I really enjoyed reading every page and I devoured it whenever I picked it up. Hannibal Lecter is one of the most interesting characters I have ever read about and I can't wait to pick up the rest of the books and learn more about him.

The writing was superb, and the build up of tension and suspense throughout was amazing.

FINAL VERDICT: One of my favourite books of the year!
