REVIEW: So I went into this book without having any real idea about what the book was about, and I was really surprised. I actually really enjoyed this book, and while it was super long and at times difficult to read, the plot and characters really intrigued me and I thoroughly invested myself into it.
There were parts, especially in the middle of the novel, where I found my attention drifting because there are these 'essays' about the anatomy of the whale and the history of whaling every few chapters which were interesting but they kind of dragged on and on and on. But other than that the actual story part of the book was really fun to read. The characters presented some really interesting ideas as well, which I liked because it made me think.
FINAL VERDICT: I'm glad I read this book, it was intimidating but at the same time highly enjoyable.
