BOOK: Anne of Green Gables

GENRE: Children's Novel

REVIEW: I knew I would love this book before I read it, but I didn't realise how much I would adore it. I've previously watched the film adaptation (the 1985 one) and I loved that, so I was very excited to read the book.
I love this book for so many reasons, but in general it is so charming. All of the characters are beautifully developed and distinctive, and it was a real joy to read about Anne's adventures and mistakes. I particularly liked the character of Marilla, I think she is a really interesting and funny character.
The story itself was very engaging and crafted wonderfully; I found myself sucked into this new world and I really want to read on in the series to see what happens next.
FINAL VERDICT: A really lovey read, one that I know I will re-read again and again. I'm so glad I've finally read this.
