Chapter 8: Depression

Forever becoming resident of your own room, and denying yourself human interaction means you suffer from depression.

In Japanese, depression is referred as "cold of the soul". I haven't seen any better description of depression than that.

How a perfectly good human soul becomes cold?
When it dies.

Lively soul is warm. Full of life, full of light and hope. Welcoming, friendly, capturing others like mothto a flame.

Dead soul is cold. Gloomy, dark, without any glimmer of hope.
It is quiet as upcoming storm. Deep as Mariana trench. Unwelcoming at such extent that you stear clear whenever your senses perceive it.

As much it looks bad on the outside, depressed person need more of human interaction than anyone.
Depression is nothing but doom and gloom of world soaked inside human heart rendering it dead.

Depression made you look away from the arms of tomorrow and love. It made us forget what is worth fighting for. It cause you to suffocates and ruins your mind, causing it to see all pessimisty of life.

When I suffered from it, I didn't even knew what it was called. I thought I was not normal. There's something seriously wrong with me. I remember distinctly I even considered myself not being human. (Don't judge me, I was 9, maybe).

It was the scariest time of my life.

Then I started searching internet about my symptoms. It took me 5 years worth of searching to realize that I actually suffered from depression, social anxiety and stress.
(internet is not that much helpful in these matters because of diversity of symptoms).

When I got handle on it, then I worked hard to fight it. I fought for 4 years. I still get small bouts of depression but it is manageable. They come, they go.

My parents and friends were not much help. My parents still don't know anything about my mental health. Same goes for my friends, they just never abandoned me even after my mood swings. I thank them for that.

I used to blame my parents for never realizing but they had their own demons to fight. I cursed them alot and even thought they never wanted me. I understood that late that their tough schedule never gave them enough time to read my face and eyes.

I'm happy I got out of that dark hole I used to live in and now I know better.
