Unfortunately, an illness swept throughout the world and killed many people, including her parents. Her parents left her everything they owned, including a beautiful bracelet she still wears to this day. At the age of 6, she began to shine and perform for others at her town and neighborhood. Soon enough, a traveling theater company found her. They were impressed and took her in, raising her as their own. There, she refined her singing and performing skills to the point where she is now the face of the theater. It is also in the theater where she learned to cook, clean, understand the law, and deduction skills since many people tried to trick and scam them of their time, efforts, and money. She heads to Sherlock's home to perform for the Queen and her people, but she didn't expect to settle here and find a life of adventure as well as another family besides her theater.
Relationships
Sherlock Holmes:
He is her beloved charmer and one of the few men who gives her his full respect and admiration to. Although she does find his antics annoying and questions why he is fine appearing as a buffoon to everyone, she is aware that he is a brilliant detective and has amazing skills. She is delighted he takes her along his deductions and adventures and even values her input on cases. Sherlock finds her beautiful, intelligent, strong, talented, and an amazing woman. He finds her skills just as good, if not better, than his. He wants to charm her with his skills and talents, but he did fall for her first. He wants her to open up to others and trust the world, but he is aware of how hard that is. He is amazed at her skills with a sword and enjoys performing with her whenever they can. He is smitten by her motheringly nature to Iris. Despite that, Irene couldn't stand him at first for how careless and jovial he tends to be about his work. She is even more annoyed by his lack of finances and care for his child. However, she is impressed with his serious nature when the situation calls for it and how quick he responds to it as well. She is aware of his caring nature to those who are dearly important to him and wants to stop others who have brought harm to others. Both work together in an excellent manner. Whether it is deductions, raising Iris, or performing, the two of them are able to compliment each other. It doesn't matter what they are doing, they will communicate and find a way to solve the problem before them. Sherlock's crazy ideas are insane, but she's not phased and knows there is a method to madness. She's also a little crazy herself since she thinks outside the box.
Iris Watson:
Irene adores Iris as her own daughter and she views Irene as her mother. Irene is delighted that Iris is a smart and talented young lady. She encourages Iris to pursue her ideals and dreams. Although Irene doesn't understand Iris's inventions and the way her mind is able to create wonderful mechanical marvels, she does support Iris fully and will stand up for her. Irene is one of the first few people to read Iris's manuscripts before anyone else and it being published. Iris loves Irene and views her as her mother, even going so far as to call her mummy. Iris also finds Irene very beautiful and hopes to be one herself along with her brilliant mind. Whenever Irene sings or dances, Iris stares intently and joins in. Irene has taught her simple waltzs and promises to teach the little inventor more complicated dances once she is older. Iris finds Irene cool and calm in any situation before herself and also keeps Holmsie in check, much to Iris's relief. Iris was skeptical of Irene in the beginning, but now, Iris adores her without hesitation. Irene was aware of how intelligent little Iris is and doesn't hesitate to spoil her either. She wants to give Iris a wonderful life and stand up for herself in a world that isn't fair to them. She knows Iris can do it and will support her. Iris, as she grows up, is aware of the world and how it limits her and Irene. Both relate to each other whenever it comes to handling Sherlock, but both know he's done so much for them. He's given them so much joy and freedom and respect. Truly, both know if the detective hadn't come into their lives, they would be very different people which scares them. As for them, they're good friends and have a great respect for each other. Especially since both explore different fields of interest. Much like Iris, Yūjin was also skeptical of Irene. After all, he knows Sherlock can be strange, but he didn't think anyone would work so well with his good friend without a reason. He knows Sherlock is smart, but he also knows Sherlock is a man who can fall for the charms of a lady. However, after Irene proves herself, Yūjin understands her and knows he can trust her. The both care about their families deeply and do not want anything to happen to them. Irene was relieved that the Great Detective had a competent partner since he himself appeared to be an idiot at times. Irene wasn't sure why Yūjin would bother to work with someone like Sherlock since he is a man of medicine. However, once she starts to understand him, she has a huge respect for him. He strives to improve himself for his family and friends as well as ensure no harm befalls them.
Barok Van Zieks:
Irene didn't trust Barok, especially after hearing how he treats Ryunosuke in court. Barok respects Irene's talents, but he doesn't understand why she would waste her time with an idiot detective and the Nipponese people. As a result, they didn't get along, even though Sherlock reassured her that Barok wasn't an awful person. He could tell she holds herself high and deeply cares about her company and friends. He finds her beautiful and strong as well as intelligent. He doesn't speak his mind to her about her friends and knows they would argue. Regardless, he does respect her and her talents. He also believes she is the best to look after Iris and be a good presence in her life. He trusts Irene to take care of Iris as he much as he does.
