Work: I Need A Job Where My Co-Workers Aren't Cliquey B*tches
-
It's been a long time coming since I wrote an actual rant besides opening up about my depression. I thought I was making good process in life; my job sucks a**, but I thought everything else is going good.
Well, decent, anyway.
And there were a couple of co-workers behind the concessions counter that said that I need to be back there more often, I was their favorite greeter, blah, blah, blah. That made me feel good. Like I was actually liked at this job. I thought the rest of the day would go well.
Oh how wrong I was.
I left my greeter station to stand by the concessions counter because I got lonely. There was literally a huge crowd of workers gathered around in a circle behind the counter, leaving me out. So much for feeling like a part of the team. My manager, who was a part of the crowd, told me I had customers waiting at my station. I had a job to do. He wasn't just shooing me away because he doesn't like me. I get that.
This is where the point of the rants comes in...
I left my station again for thirty seconds. I sneezed and figured I should blow my nose before I touch the scanner. It wasn't my fault that customers walk in as soon as I leave the station for five seconds.
Just as I was done, the same manager told me that we have customers coming in and that they (the managers of the theater) need me up there all the time. I explained that I was just getting a tissue to blow my nose out. I don't know exactly what his response was, but it certainly wasn't an understanding response.
WHAT THE HELL??
I can't even blow my nose out without being yelled at?? (Well, he didn't yell at me per se, but you know what I mean). All I was doing was blow my nose, which was a reasonable thing to do after I sneezed into my arm before I touched anything.
It's not just that, but everyday when no one makes me feel like a member of the team (other than the two customers I mentioned above). It only makes my depression slightly worse that I need this job for the money, but it's impossible to make a friend there, they have me doing the same thing every shift, I'm not learning anything new, it just sucks!
*starts crying* Help me!
