Why?

Why does The Wattys require a minimum of 50K words in order to enter.

I was changing my cover for TOY and noticed this banner mocking me.

'So close'.

So I'm NOT eligible.

Do not mock me with such a banner. It reminds me that my book is not 50K words. I did the math. I have to write, at least, 8K words in order to be able to enter.

It's been my dream to enter into The Wattys since I found out about it, but what else could I possibly add to TOY that would add up to 8K words??

Of course I started an awards for those who can't enter, but I can't enter that as a host.

It's just so unfair that we can't enter our books if it's under 50K. The minimum should, at least- AT LEAST, be 40K.

Healing Hearts was my one and only book that was eligible.
