My Mother is hypocritically obsessed with her phone.

Ex.

I tried to ask her a question earlier and she was too damn focused on her phone to give me any attention then went off to ask my brother a question, oblivious to my existence.

My Mom was cooking dinner one night while on the phone. Even after she finished cooking, she was so focused on the phone call (which wasn't really important to begin with) that she forgot to  turn off the stove.

And this woman has the audacity...

THE AUDACITY

To say that her biggest fear is fire.

Now you know a little bit more about the title.

Picture this: My Mom is babysitting my children in my home. They try to get her attention to get lunch or dinner. She gives them the finger-NOT THE MIDDLE FINGER-but the 'one more minute' finger.

The 'one more minute' turns into hours.

And hours.

And hours.

The kids try to make dinner themselves, because they are one more 'one more minute' finger away from starving to death. Of course, they're children. They don't know how to cook, so a fire erupts from the pans and spreads everywhere.

Now, I can't exactly blame my kids. Hell, I can't even blame my Mother. I can only blame myself for trusting her to watch them in the first place!

That woman can not go a day without her phone.

My Dad was in the middle of cooking French toast one morning and he stepped away to answer a text, almost burning my brother's house to the ground! And he's more upset with this 'generation' and their 'gadgets' than Mom is!

Distracting Cooking - An epidemic that doesn't get talked about enough.

I just might have to put a restraining order against her in order to keep my kids safe if this phone addiction gets any worse.
