Makeup: I Ain't Wearing No Makeup For This Damn Interview!

Makeup: I Ain't Wearing No Makeup For This Damn Interview!

First of all, Wattpad is a huge bitch for making me start this rant all over again. I had it all written out, I simply exited the app to look for a gif (which I couldn't find the one I was looking for anyway. Wasn't even worth it), came back and it was loading the most recent book I've edited page. I scrolled to find the most recent one and 300 words of the rant...gone.

So thank you, Wattpad, for choosing to be a part of this rant today.

Second, I got an interview! My first job interview since the big move!

(Cue London Tipton's iconic line: "Yay me!" *applause*)

I understand that I have to look presentable.

I get that.

That's why I'm wearing a dress (which I don't even want to but mom still lives in the 1950s where women are required to wear poodle skirts, ribbons and heels. Get with the damn program!), and I'm taking a shower beforehand.

One thing is for sure, I ain't wearing no makeup. For two reasons:

1. It's too much of a hassle to put on (and to take off).

2. When I wash my face and I put my headband on to pull my bangs back, I get makeup all over my headband and hair!

That's what happened after my sister's wedding! I slid my headband on and got it messy with makeup and it got in my hair. The next morning, before the church ceremony, I took a shower and the texture felt off because of the makeup!

Women shouldn't be required to wear makeup for job interviews, weddings, photo shoots.

That's why I was the only one in our family pictures two months ago without makeup. I don't give a tiny rat's ass!

Shouldn't my mother be teaching me that I'm beautiful without makeup? That I don't need it? Now, that's bad parenting right there.

To make this rant more interactive (and longer), what's your opinion on women wearing makeup to interviews?

Do you think it should be mandatory?

Or

Do you think that, as long as you're dressed nice and you're showered, you'd be just fine?

PS: I am so ready for this interview (the hardest part of this job hunt process) to be done and over with. As soon as I get home, I'm getting a drink to celebrate.

Hopefully, I didn't forget to add anything I did in the original rant before Wattpad decided to play a practical joke on me, but you'll be hearing from the next time something pisses me off!
