Greed: Things People Do For Money

This is more my mom's rant that she was just talking about with dad and I wholeheartedly agree.

So here's the story: my mom's phone hadn't been working. Our phones are five years old, but mine is working just fine. I only want a new phone just for an upgrade, but I don't absolutely need one. She took out her SD card to fix something and all of her 8 years worth of recipes GONE.

Deleted.

Gone forever.

That was when she went into this spiel about how she was at T-Mobile and the guy said that they stopped selling phones with SD cards. I agree that it's stupid they're making everyone pay for space and to back up their pics and stuff to the cloud. The one thing I fear about getting a new phone is losing ALL OF MY PICTURES, SCREENSHOTS OF YOUR COMMENTS ON MY BOOKS, BOOK GRAPHICS, FAMILY PHOTOS, VIDEOS! What if something were to happen to the cloud?

My dad said that he was sure someone could do something to mess with the cloud and all of our stuff will be lost forever.

The worst part? I know eventually, I'll have to get a new one. The more years I keep this phone, it'll eventually stop working. I don't even get software updates anymore! What the hell would I do then? Succumb to the 'paying to backup my stuff' bullshit rule just to get a new phone??

This world only gives a tiny rat's ass about money and it makes me sick! They took away SD cards because they're FORCING you to pay. They know that it's the customer's biggest concern whether or not their pictures are safe and are transferable. I know mine is. That's why they fixed it where they don't have a choice but to pay for the cloud.

I thought it was an iPhone only thing. That Androids will offer SD cards. That's why I'm more of an Android person! Not anymore!

Both options suck!
