Last night, my family and I went to see the new Top Gun movie. It was pretty good, but my Dad, who LOVES the original, says it was only okay.

Why?

Because, and I quote,

"You wouldn't see a woman pilot"

...

What the hell is that supposed to mean?

Hypothetically, if I wanted to be a pilot, he wouldn't let me because I'm a woman and woman are stupid??

He also said that a black man wouldn't be a pilot either.

I've just been needing to get this off my chest because, honestly, it ruined my night. I didn't say anything out loud (which I should've), but in my head, I was thinking why the hell he can't just enjoy a movie without making such sexest, racist comments.

I was imagining scenarios where I DID say something —

"Never again am I watching a movie with him?"

Dad: "Why?"

"You were literally just demonstrating why!"

*sighs of relief*

It feels good to get that off my chest.
