Asexuality is a sexual orientation in the first place. Unlike the most other sexual orientations it's not like: I'm homosexual, I am a girl and love girls / a boy and love boys, It's like: Im a girl/boy/neither/... and I am not sexually attracted to anyone.
So Asexuality simply means that one doesn't experience sexual attraction. You don't look at someone and are like: OMG he/she/... is hot!
Furthermore you have to know, that Asexuality is (like many other queer labels) an umbrella term. In this case it means that "Asexual people" can, not only be a person that doesn't experience sexual attraction at all, they can also be a person that only experiences sexual attraction to a certain level.

If you are asexual you can still love someone, kiss someone, even have sex. You just won't have those sexual feelings. If you are asexual you can still have a healthy and happy relationship.
Asexuality is a spectrum, so it's not like, you are asexual, tha'ts it, everybody knows how you feel, because there's only one kind of asexual. No :)
You can, of course, also fall in love as in romantically with different genders, if you are asexual. (It's called romantic attraction)

As I said, Asexuality is a spectrum, there are different "classifications" of Asexuals:

gray-asexual (gray-ace): People, who only experience rarely/weak sexual attraction, and because of that they can identify better with asexual people than with allosexual people. (allosexual people are people wo do expierence sexual attraction)
The term gray-ace is also an umbrella term for a lot of different "classifications" in the spectrum.

demisexual: demisexual people don't expierence sexual attraction normally. But there are exceptions: If they already had a long, very close relationship on a different level (for example emotionally, intellectually) with a person, the demisexual person can experience sexual attraction towards the specific person. So they can only experience sexual attraction if they know the other person very very well.

fraysexual: is pretty much the opposite of demisexual. The sexual attraction disappears, the better you get to know the other person.

But those "classifications" are only a part, you don't have to be gray-, demi-, or fraysexual to be asexual. By fact, you are asexual, if you don't or only rarely experience sexual attraction.
You don't have to find your so called "micro label" you can just call yourself asexual as in on the asexual spectrum, if you feel comfortable with that term.

There is also a spectrum of how asexual people relate to the idea of being involved in sexual acts themselves or, for example, of being found sexually attractive by other people.

sex-repulsed: To feel repulsed of sexual acts and don't want to have to do anything with it, possibly thinking that it's disgusting.

sex-indifferent: To not care about sexual acts, to have no active interest, but not thinking that it's disgusting.

sex-favorable: To be able to like sexual acts and enjoy them.

Let's talk about romantic attraction.
Your romantic attraction is, who you can fall in love with (without being sexual attracted to the person).
There are the same terms like with the sexual orientations (homosexual, heterosexual, pansexual...)

heteroromantic
If you are a boy you can only fall in love with a girl,
If you are a girl you can only fall in love with a boy.
So: girlxboy/boyxgirl

homoromantic
If you are a boy you can only fall in love with a boy,
If you are a girl you can only fall in love with a girl.
So: girlxgirl/boyxboy

biromantic
If you are a girl you can only fall in love with a boy or girl,
If you are a boy you can only fall in love with a girl or boy,
If you are neither/... you can only fall in love with a girl or boy.
So: girlxboyorgirl / boyxgirlorboy / neitherxgirlorboy

panromantic
If you are a girl you can fall in love with every single gender,
If you are a boy you can fall in love with every single gender,
If you are neither/... you can fall in love with every single gender.
So: girlxanygender / boyxanygender / neitherxanygender

aromantic
If you are a girl you can't be romantically interested/attracted to a person,
If you are a boy you can't be romantically interested/attracted to a person,
If you are neither/... you can't be romantically interested/attracted to a person.
So: --- yeees nothing :) just happy single persons :)

demiromantic
If you are girl you can be romatically interested/attracted to a person, but only if you know the person already very well.
If you are a boy you can be romatically interested/attracted to a person, but only if you know the person already very well.
If you are neither/... you can be romatically interested/attracted to a person, but only if you know the person already very well.
So: girlxpersonthatshealreadyknows / boyxpersonthatshealreadyknows /neitherxpersonthatshealreadyknows

Of course there is also omniromantic and so on, but I think you understood it.

There are even more types of attraction than romantic and sexual attraction. I don't know this stuff soooo well yet, so I just inserted a Picture :)

Asexuality isn't a choice!
And asexual isn't the same as aromantic, and you're not necessarily aromantic, just because you're asexual.
It's also the other way around, you're not necessarily asexual, just because you're aromantic.

You can also call asexual people ace, thats why there are so many card-aces-memes in the ace community. There are also a lot of memes with cake.
Uh and it's a sign to wear a black ring on your right middle finger for aces.
Well.. the flag for the asexuals is black, gray, white and purple the black bar stands for the asexuals, the gray one for the gray-sexuals, white is for the allosexuals and purple for the community. I will tell about the insiders and stuff like this more later :)
