Chapter 1 Claragh Jones
Claragh Jones was a girl who didn't have much left. Her family had moved away to Germany. Bombings were reported recently that made her question whether her family was still alive. Living with Rose, her grandmother in Greendale. Was good for now but she wanted to be free sometimes. It is a small house on the corner of a busy country road. The house is built with wooden planks that were painted white, back when her grandmother first moved in. Which now the paint has worn away over time, with a few hornets nests built within the cracks of the panels. The roof is just an ordinary rusted metal roof with most cracked a faulty gutter I have ever seen.

The inside is quite plain, when you walk up the stairs it leads into a small room -some people call it a sunroom but- that has two old chairs with crumbly, dusty cushions. A small table with a coaster that has two rainbow birds painted on it. A wooden lamp that doesn't work when you try to turn it on, and if the switch is left on it flicks on in the middle of the night and scares the crap out of you - been there done that-. In front is a doorway that leads into the lounge room. It has three leather lounges that are a darkish purple colour, the leather is cracking all over. One of the lounges is a big three seater and is up against the left wall. The other two small one-seaters are in front of the TV, one in front of the other. The back one slightly more edged into the wall. The TV is straight ahead when you look at it from the small front room. It is only a small box TV which is encased in a big wooden cabinet which has a few things on top of it. To the right of it is a wooden staircase with the sixth step missing, it leads to a hallway where Claraghs room is she has a small bed and the wallpaper was covered with different places in the world, she has a bedside table with a white lamp and a green frog decoration.
Next to the big lounge in the lounge room, on the right side near a door that leads to the guest bedroom is a massive cabinet with glass doors, and has a mirror back. This cabinet holds many old photographs of her grandmother and my mother with her siblings when they were young and a beautiful wedding photo of grandpa and grandma. It also has a few little trinkets that are mostly just grandmas porcelain animals and pretty ladies, there are a few nice glasses and plates are there as well. "They are just decorations," She would say to me. Grandma made sure she kept the cabinet closed, locked and never let me look at them up close. In the middle of the room is a big round carpet with brown patterns on it.
Before the exit of the small front room on the right is grandma's bedroom. It has very white walls and a big mirror and a white table below it. It was my grandmother's jewellery and hairbrushes on it. Directly opposite the mirror, there is an enormous white cupboard full of grandmas clothes. The next room is the door near the big cabinet with the glass windows, it is the guest room, it has a big double bed in the middle of the room and grandma puts all her woollen knitted dolls and other creations. There is a small little table in the corner of the room with more woollen things on it. At the end of the room is another door that leads to the sewing room, where grandma does all her sewing and knitting. There is a couch directly opposite the door with a window above it, then across to the right, there is two sewing machines and three tables with drawers that hold scissors, cotton, velcro, elastic and lots and lots of wool. Across from the sewing machines is a wood cupboard with scrap material, some big pieces of material and spare wool. The bathroom is the door that is on the left, it has the smallest shower you've ever seen and the littlest bath at the bottom. The sink is small as well, it has a white tap and handles. It has a small cupboard above it with a mirror on the door of it. The next door is the one that leads into the dining room and kitchen, the table is oval-shaped and has ab lack top and six chairs. The kitchen is straight ahead, it has many cupboards and draws. The biscuit draw is Claragh's favourite. There are a sink and a bin with recycling, waste and compost, a fridge, a freezer, and benches all around.

Grandma Rose was quite old, but she has a heart of gold and is always nice to Claragh. Claragh has fiery red hair, green eyes, freckles and a pale face. She dresses in an old dress that has faded out flowers and vines on it. She wears white stockings and leather boots that went past her ankles. She always wears her hair in a ponytail with a black hairband with a white bow on it.
