Part-14
It had been two days since the disastrous balcony encounter and Virat wanted to disappear from the face of the planet already. He had totally forgotten how annoyingly pestering Jaddu could really be, having not been on the receiving end of it for some years. But now back in time, he has been again facing the full extent of that force.
He doesn't know how but somehow Jaddu had managed to convince himself that Virat has hidden kids somewhere and Virat can't even begin to start on how ridiculous this whole thought is but again it is Jaddu he is talking about.
Nothing is ridiculous to him.
And let's also not forget that there is absolutely nothing like impossible when Sir Jadeja is taken into consideration. That guy has been giving him suspicious looks and asking him utterly ridiculous questions since the balcony incident.
"You aren't like those old peeps calling their pets kids, are you, Vi???" Jad had asked him this looking totally suspicious during dinner.
Virat wanted to hit him with the plate full of food. Of course, he didn't call pets kids. He has real slightly over-grown, cute, innocent, and not-so-innocent fluff ball like kids. Who loves to give him headaches it's not like he can tell Jaddu about them now? Well, not without totally convincing him that he had gone mad or really kidnapped some kids and is raising them in secret.
Yes, this was also one of Jaddu's mad theories. He even offered to help. Well, his exact words were "see Vi if you had kidnapped some kids and all. Don't worry, I'll help. We can raise them in Jamnagar. It's a brilliant place. We can keep them in my farmhouse with the horses and all, "
Had he already mentioned he is surrounded by idiots? If not, then he will absolutely love too, now.
And the guy who is responsible for all this. The guy to be blamed is laughing his guts out. Virat doesn't know what he finds so funny in the whole situation? There's nothing funny at all. But still, Bhuvi has been laughing tears of joy.
Every time he watched Jaddu following Virat like an overexcited playful puppy. He has been cackling like mad. Traitor. Doing nothing at all to help him out of a predicament Virat is in because of Bhuvi.
"Bhuviiiiiiiiiiiiiii, " Virat whined out Bhuvi's name stretching the I's to infinity.
"What?" Bhuvi asked still quite engrossed in a book they had purchased to know about their situation. It was quite useless in that department but it is quite amusing and intriguing. And Bhuvi is a vicarious reader anyway.
"Can we go out?" Virat asked Bhuvi hope shining brightly in his expressive eyes.
"Right now, " Bhuvi raised a questioning eyebrow at Virat.
"Yes, pretty please, Bhuviii, Rah or Jass or Kul, can call any moment, can we go out please, please, " Virat begged making the most compelling puppy dog eyes at Bhuvi's direction.
Bhuvi huffed out a laugh nodding.
The day since Jad, Ro, Jinks, Mahi bhai got to hear about Virat's kids and the way he talks to them. They had been giving him suspicious looks whenever he is on call. And this idiot is refusing to tell them that his kids are his little brothers.
Gods know, what he is is thinking? Though the way he looks totally spooked out by Jaddu's presence near him during any call is totally hilarious.
And Bhuvi couldn't kinda say no to Virat's begging puppy expression right now. So, sighing he placed the book on the bedside table. Grabbed his jacket and followed Virat out.
Virat was strangely subdued during the whole journey out of the hotel but once out, the crazy Vi resurfaced.
"Bhuviiiiii!!!!"
"I'm right beside you Vi, no need to scream, " Bhuvi admonished Vi rubbing his ears. God, what to do with these crazy people.
"Think what will be Mahi bhai's reaction if I sing tujh bin, mera nayi lagda Ji, nayi lagda Ji, nayi lagda Ji, mahiyaa. Doesn't this song feels like made for Mahi bhai, " Virat asked Bhuvi super excitedly.
"Do that and Mahi bhai will throw you out of the window, " Bhuvi informed Vi totally unimpressed. He could all but imagine Vi singing this to Mahi bhai when he wasn't with the team. On top of his voice nonetheless.
"You're just being jealous because I didn't find a song for you yet, " Virat shrugged off Bhuvi's wisdom-filled words.
"Please don't, " Bhuvi begged with a wry smile.
And just like that both of them were talking and teasing each other. Virat wanted to do a toss to decide which kid to call first. Bhuvi informed him he'll lose the toss anyway. So, they conference called all of them together.
Entering a park in front of their hotel and claiming the swings as their personal seats. Thank God, it was night and no kid was currently in the park. Well, besides the kid with him.
"Rahuliyaaaaaaaa!!!!! missed me" and ladies and gentlemen that was Virat Kohli's greeting line every day.
"Nops, not at all, I'm buried under economics so much that I can't even see the daylight, " Rahul snapped clearly not in a merry mood.
"Well, maybe because it's night, " Virat quipped carelessly.
Rahul groaned.
Bhuvi facepalmed.
Jassi-Kul laughed.
"Jassi!! my boy, Kulya tell me you missed me right unlike Mr. grumpy pants, " Virat demanded merrily. All traces of sadness evaporating from his eyes.
"Of course, bhaiya!!" Jassi-Kul agreed.
"Who are you calling Grumpy-pants?" Rahul demanded.
Bhuvi and Vi just laughed. Bhuvi asked about the recurring nightmares and their lives and as the three kids started their complaining sessions. They didn't seem anyway near to stopping anytime soon. Rah complained about sessionals and demonic professors. Jassi talked about overbearing people and missing his chosen family. Kulya complained about the same too.
Sleepless nights seemed to have done friendship with all of them. But at that moment, they could forget that they were in a park and states away. With close eyes indulgent smiles, they could almost imagine themselves in Virat or Rohit's room in the team hotel.
Complaining and talking like always. It was a wistful thought but that's all they have now. Memories of a time yet to come and they're thoroughly unaware whether their presence will change that future or not?
Will the bonds still be the same?
Or
Will the butterfly effect will destroy it? They didn't know but for now, they were just relishing these moments of virtual togetherness.
"There's death surrounding you, " a creepy chilly voice resonated around Virat and Bhuvi.
Startled, both of them jumped almost out of their skins when they noticed the old lady in tarot reading attire watching them creepily. Her face glaring down at them. Her milky white orbs terrifyingly fixed on them. When did she come so near them? How didn't they notice? They didn't know. And though, Virat and Bhuvi will never admit it. They were feeling terrified at that moment.
There was a sudden chill in the environment. They were feeling absolutely creepy.
"Yes, yes, I can't feel it. There's so much vengeance filled souls around you both. I can see them. They want to harm you. They're angry. Yes, it's the scent of death, " the lady whispered again her lips curling into a sinisterly spooky wan smile.
"What...what are you talking about?" Virat asked her feigning bravery. He was feeling thoroughly spooked. Well, will someone mind if he punches an old lady in self-defense?
"Oh!! Don't be worried dearies. I can see ghosts and there are lots of future pasts ghosts around the two of you. The claws of their vengeance around you guys, " the lady said smiling brilliantly and Bhuvi decided it was the time to flee.
The lady was absolutely bonkers. It was better if they run with that thought in mind Bhuvi and Virat stood up and walked past the lady. But they stopped hearing her next words.
"You'll lose the kids to them. The brothers you hold, so dear. You can't help them. You can't help those who died in the accident. You can't prevent it if you just keep running. The last memory celebration in the bus, blinding flash, violent jerk, falling down pain and nothingness, " the lady said looking directly at Virat and Virat felt his heart stop beating. How did she know?
"Celebration, Jad and flash, " The lady said looking at Bhuvi whose heart was already fluttering at his throat. An unsettling feeling forming a knot in his stomach.
"How??" Virat began somewhat finding his voice back. But the lady didn't allow him to complete her question. She continued unaffected by their presence.
"Tell them the truth, tell them the truth, tell them everything. Trust the bonds you hold so dear. Only then you can succeed. Only then you can defeat the darkness. Only then you can change the inevitable. If the bonds prevail, if they are as strong, if you're as united as you claim, only then you can save all of them. Only then you can change their fate. Seek the last two who were sent back to know the reason, check the real strength of the bonds, if they're as strong as loyal as loving as you believe otherwise you're doomed, it'll repeat," the lady uttered as if in a trance. Her words we're mechanical and clear. And Bhuvirat were spooked and thoroughly terrified.
"What...what do you mean by doomed?" Virat asked frantically, unnerved.
"What more people sent back?" Bhuvi demanded equally rattled.
But their question seemed to fall on deaf ears. The old lady's eyes rolled back for a moment, the milky shade from her eyes disappeared. She looked at them from normal confused brown eyes and mumbling to herself. She left from there.
Leaving behind thoroughly terrified and unnerved Bhuvirat.
"What...what was that?" asked Bhuvi breathless.
"I...I don't know, do you reckon she...she was right, " Virat questioned back shaking slightly.
"I...I don't know, " Bhuvi mumbled. Their situation was strange before now it has become downright terrifying.
"I...we can take any chance Bhuvi. We can't risk the kids. They're terrified as it is, " Virat mumbled frantically.
Bhuvi nodded. He agreed they couldn't risk Rah, Kul, Jassi. The kids were important.
"How to tell Mahi bhai? Do...do you think he'll believe us?" Virat asked Bhuvi. He had never doubted his Mahi bhai before but right now, he wasn't sure. This was important, very important. One wrong step and they won't just jeopardize themselves but the kids too.
"I promise cheeku, we will listen to anything and everything you both have to tell with an open mind, " Mahi said as assuringly as he could.
"Bhai!!" Both Bhuvirat exclaimed together thoroughly startled noticing Mahi, Ro, Jadu, and Jinks there. What's with people sneaking up on them today?
Mahi smiled reassuringly at the frightened boy's direction. He didn't know what was going on with them. But for the first time, he was thankful that he had followed Jaddu's plan.
The four of them were going to Virat's room. It was Ro's idea. He wanted to have a movie night. But when they turned the corridor towards Virat's room. They spotted Bhuvirat going out and then Jaddu suggested following them as a detective.
Ro agreed.
Jinks agreed.
And Mahi couldn't help but tag along with the boys. The whole way the boys talked about them in a manner that spoke they know them, really, really well.
It was kinda unnerving for the four of them. How did Virat and Bhuvi know them so well? After just joining the team. They were quite surprised when Virat and Bhuvi came to the park.
But the dark in the park made the spying task even easy. The way Bhuvirat talked to the kids. Whoever these kids were was just too endearing. Mahi could clearly feel the love in their voice.
But the event that happened next managed to spook all of them. Mahi didn't know what to think of it all. It all seemed so strange. So surreal yet something in him screamed at him to trust the kids. Something in him told him that they need him most now. Whatever it was they can't do it alone. Mahi did what his soul screamed him to do.
Support these kids. No matter what kind of trouble they called.
"Yes, we will hear it out. We won't judge you, I trust you. " Ro promised looking at Virat reassuringly even Jinks and Jaddu nodded their heads.
Mahi was glad he wasn't the only one feeling like that, he watched as Virat and Bhuvi shared a look and relaxed somewhat.
"Why don't we go back to the hotel? Bhuvi's room is near and there you can tell us whatever you want with tea or coffee. It's kinda chilly here, " Jinks spoke the obvious, and Mahi thought he was absolutely right.
It's dangerous out here and the conversation, whatever it was will be more comfortable in their rooms without the fear of being eavesdropped
Everyone agreed with Jinks plan and slowly started walking towards the hotel. Silence looming over them awkwardly. Mahi didn't know what to say to drive out whatever worry was surrounding Bhuvi and Virat? How to evaporate this strangely solemn environment? He didn't need to worry much for Jaddu did just that.
"So, Vi when are you introducing me to my godchildren?" Jaddu asked matter of factly looking at Virat expectantly.
Virat groaned helplessly.
Others laughed.
~to be continued~
God, I needed to get this out of my system. I know I have an exam and I'm doing this. But I needed this distraction. Gods, I really need it to not cry after what happened yesterday. So, I apologize for the solemn mood of this chapter. I just hate trolls.
What's the mentality of people to troll Virat's unborn child? How can people troll a child? I don't know. I just hate it all. I'm blabbering, I know but I just couldn't concentrate on anything today.
I hate it. Okay, so ignore my rant. I hope you enjoyed the chapter. For the next chapter, please contact Mahiro457. What do you think of the mystery and what do you think the guy's reaction will be to bhuvirat's story.
To know keep reading.
Sorry for the super late update and rant.
