Liar Lair!

A Blue Deal
Chapter Two
Liar Liar!

I woke up some time later under the roof of my pillow castle, "Morning!" Mabel chimed in as she broke through the pillow door, "Agh!" I shouted as I kicked the pillow door closed on her face.

She started laughing as I got out and frowned slightly, "That's not how you're supposed to wake people up!" I said.

"Well how else was I supposed to wake you up?" She asked as she put her shoes on, "Get dressed and come on!" She smiled, running out of the room before she even managed to explain anything. I sighed as I looked over to my bag and pulled out some clothes to dress in. You slipped your satchel on when you were finished and out the door you were.

As you ran down the stairs, you looked around, "Mabel? Dipper?" You called out.

"They're outside." A girl said from behind the counter, "Ah, thanks!" You smiled as you ran past the tourists entering the store and made your way out.

"____! Over here!" Mabel shouted, getting your attention.

She and Dipper sat on the ground with two other girls around the same age, looking down at a map in the book.

"Hi there!" I smiled as I sat down beside Dipper. I could have sworn that I saw the faintest shade of pink take over as I sat.

"_____, this is Grenda and Candy!" Mabel introduced me, "Hi!" Grenda exclaimed in a rather muscular voice, "Hello!" Candy grinned as she waved.

"Hey!" I smiled.

"Alright, now that we're all here, I think we should go searching for this monster!" Dipper said as he pointed to a drawing in his book.

"Another one? Didn't you just go searching for one and almost die yesterday?" I asked, raising a brow.

"Well, yeah, but that one was a rare monster, it's said to only come out a few times a year and after I did some intense calculations, I-" He was interrupted as Mabel punched his shoulder, "Ow!" He exclaimed, rubbing his shoulder as Mabel finished for him, "We were planning to search for this monster for a week, that other one was just because it happened to come out the day you happened to show up."

"Ah, okay!" I grinned, looking at the drawing of a toothy, human-like figure with what looked like an hourglass in it's hands, "It still creepy though." I admitted, shivering slighty.

"Hah, if you can face that monster from yesterday on your first day here and sleep like you did, this one should be a cinch!" Dipper complimented me, causing me to blush slightly, "Yeah! Totally!" I grinned.

"It's said to hang around the Dusk 2 Dawn." Candy read from the book, causing Mabel's eyes to light up, "Hey, isn't that where the two old people ghosts were?" She asked.

"Hum, I'm surprised you remembered that, given you ate all that candy. But yes." Dipper responded.

"I regret nothing. Not even that stomach ache, oh god." Mabel rolled over onto her side as she remembered.

"Come on, there's no time to nap, let's go check it out." Dipper said as he stood up and reached his hand down to me. I took it and dusted myself off, "Thanks!" I grinned as Grenda and Candy gave each other a look and giggled together. I thought nothing of it.

---

"Say, Dip, how come you're just now checking these monsters out?" Mabel asked.

Dipper  was quiet for a moment before he decided to respond, "There were three books, remember? This is the first."

A look of regret flooded Mabel's face for a moment as she quietly responded, "Oh, right."

"We're here!" Candy exclaimed as she ran ahead of us all and looked at the vacant store, "Ooo, this is so creepy that I've got the chills!" She laughed.

"Guys, we have to be quiet, we don't want to scare the monster off!" Dipper shouted, thus making more noise than Candy's laughing.

"She's not being that loud." Grenda addressed as she ran up beside Candy, "This is loud!" She shouted as she joined in with her laughter, just twice as louder.

"Honestly, girls..." Mabel side as she walked up to them, "You have to be louder to get the party started!" She shouted, adding to the loudness.

I squinted slightly, turning towards Dipper, "Are you going to join them too now?" I asked, laughing lightly.

"Of course not, but let's hope that maybe their screaming doesn't scare the monster away, but bring him here faster." Dipper said, sitting down on a stone beside the pavement, "As for right now, we can only wait."

I stood beside him as I watched vigilantly. The sun quickly began beaming down on us as the clock struck noon and I finally let out a sigh. Dipper turned towards me and quickly scooted over on the stone, "There's not a lot of room on this, but I'm sure we'll fit." He said, patting the stone.

"Thanks." I said, sitting down and leaning my back against his, "I'll watch the road in case he spends his free time down at the Mattress store or something, I wouldn't blame him if he did." I said closing my eyes slightly as I raised my hand over the to try to shield them from the sun.

"Yeah," He laughed, "Well then, I've got your back and you've got mine." He said as he set his head back against mine and pushed his head down to shield his eyes from the sun.

It didn't take much longer after that that the three girls came up to us, giggling, "Hey you two!" Grenda shouted only to burst into laughter once again.

"Yeah, hey you two!" Candy giggled, emphasising the last two words. I lowered my hand and rested it on my lap as I turned towards them, "Hi." I said, taking in a deep breath.

"Mabel walked in front of me, looking into my eyes for not even a second before she gasped as she jumped back, "Agh!" She shouted, causing Dipper to jump slightly, "What? Is it the monster?" He asked, standing up, I stretched my arms behind my back for a moment as I pushed myself up, I was so tired of doing nothing in the sun.

"Grenda, Candy! Look at ____'s eyes, don't you see something in them?" Mabel asked, moving out of the way for the two girls to look at my (colour) eyes for a moment before having the same reaction as Mabel, "Dipper, maybe you should look too? Maybe you can see it!" Grenda shouted, turning me around and pushing me closer to Dipper.

Behind Dipper, Candy pushed him towards me, causing us both to bump into each other, he blushed as he quickly took a step back, "Look at her eyes!" Mabel shouted, "Do you see it?" She asked, grinning.

Dipper rolled his eyes as he looked into my eyes, he seemed uncomfortable as he turned away, "N-No, I don't see anything!" He said.

"Look again!" Grenda shouted.

"Maybe this will help?" Candy snickered as she pulled her ipod out and played some cheesy love song.

It should have been obvious from the start, but it was only then that my cheeks flushed red and that I understood what they were trying to do. Dipper, the same red as I turned back and looked into my eyes, "T-There's nothing there.." He managed to say without breaking eye contact.

I felt my heart race as I took a step back, this was now too much, I quickly rubbed my eyes and tried to laugh it off, "Yup, nothing at all, so maybe we should pay attention to the m.." I stopped as I looked up at a strange figure behind the girls who were all giggling behind Dipper.

"No, try again, there's something in her eyes!" Mabel said, shoving Dipper a little closer. In doing so, he finally got fed up with their childish behaviour and turned to confront her, only to see the monster, "Ugh, guys?" He said, taking a step back.

"Come on, just look a little harder." Candy smiled, only to see our eyes that remained locked on the creature behind them, Candy turned to see it and let out a scream as she turned into a run.

"Why are you - oh." Grenda said as her eyes caught the monster behind her, "Run!" She shouted as she past it and pushed the gates in front of the Dusk 2 Dawn store and running towards it with Candy.

"Over here!" Candy shouted as she pushed the store doors open.

Dipper and I quickly ran past the gates beside Mabel and made it into the store, "Great, we saw the monster, now what?" I asked as I pushed a shopping cart in front of the doors.

"Ugh, well, that was it really, that's always it!" Dipper explained as he flipped through the pages of the book to get back to the page we were all looking at this morning.

Outside, the monster pushed on the doors, easily managing to get in as the rolling cart and a hat stand that Candy put there wasn't much of a blockade effort.

"What do you want?" Mabel asked, turning towards the monster, hoping that it would answer her.

"I seek the truth and was drawn by your lies." I said in an eerie voice, "Tell me the truth and open up like you've opened the gates allowing yourselves here."

"Wait, you came just because we lied that ____ had something in her eyes? Haha, you know we were joking right?" Mabel laughed.

"..." It remained quiet for a moment, we exchanged looks and Dipper opened his mouth to speak, only to be interrupted by the monster, "Wait, I'm thinking!" It groaned.

"Thinking of what?" I wondered.

"Okay, I've got it." It said in it's eerie voice, "I won't allow any of you to leave unless you tell me a secret."

"Oh! Oh!" Candy cheered, "I've got one! One time, when I was little, I ate all of the crayon box and I lied when I told them that the stray cat outside ate them." She said.

"You lied Candy? That's so hardcore." Grenda said, shocked.

"N-No, not that kind of secret, I mean a real juicy secret." The monster said.

I turned towards Dipper and frowned as we turned to look at each other, "I don't think so, look, this was okay and all, but we've got to go now, come on _____." Dipper said as he grabbed my hand and tried to walk around the monster, only for it to stretch out it's arms and cause a shield to appear.

"As long as you remain here, time will stand still and none of you will ever be allowed to escape!" He began laughing, causing the room to shake, "Unless you tell me your secrets!" He added.

"Um, well I guess this is just what I get for what I did." Mabel sighed as she stepped foreword, "Dipper, I accidentally  knocked your toothbrush into the toilet and I panicked and put it back and never told you.."

Dipper's eyes widened as he looked over at her, "What? When was this?" He asked.

"Last month, I think?" She replied.

"Ew!" He shouted as he rubbed his tongue with his shirt, "Fine then, I have a secret, you know those collector edition puffy stickers you ordered last week?" Dipper asked, to which Mabel nodded, "Well when they came, I accidentally dropped it all into the bottomless pit!"

Mabel's eyes widened as he said this, "What? Why did you do that?" She gasped.

"Oh I dunno, why didn't you tell me about my toothbrush?" He asked, slightly angry.

Grenda looked around nervously before breaking down and shouting, "I ate the piñata at my fourth birthday! I didn't tell anyone because I was afraid that they would send me to jail for eating the piñata, I didn't mean to make anyone cry! I'm sorry!" She cried out.

I looked over at the monster and raised a brow as I asked, "Can we leave now?"

It only frowned as it shook it's head, "No, and I grow impatient." It stuck it's hand out, holding an hour glass in it and turned it upside down, letting all the sand fall down slowly, "You have little time before I decide to rid the world of your existence, tell me your biggest secrets and you will be free!" It said, getting everyone's undivided attention.

"What? You can't just change the rules midway!" Dipper protested.

The monster only tapped the hourglass, causing it to speed up, Mabel frowned as she punched Dipper's shoulder, "Great, now look at what you did!" She shouted.

"Hey, guys, arguing isn't going to help us any." I stated as I tried to think of one of my secrets, I wasn't sure if there was anything worth mentioning.

"_____ is right." Dipper stated, causing me to smile, "So let's all think, what are our deepest secrets?"

"Can you give us a hint or something?" Grenda asked, turning towards the monster, he only shrugged as he responded, "I don't know, just tell me your secrets and if it's worthy of my listening then I'll let you go."

"Hmm.." Mabel rubbed her chin, "Okay, Grenda, I love you and I mean it when I say this, you are my best friend, but the truth is that orange is not your colour, I'm sorry." She said, looking at Grenda's orange shirt with the words, "Orange you glad I haven't punched you?" On it. Grenda looked down at her shirt sadly, "I know, but it was a gift from my Aunt Nagy."

"That's good, you can pass." The monster approved.

Mabel jumped up, "Yeah! Haha, see you on the other side, suckers!" She shouted as she jumped through the glass doors, and so, breaking them and shouting, "Ow!"

"Okay, well, why don't we help each other out, ____? I'm sure two minds will be better to get out of here faster than one!" Dipper smiled, not making eye contact with me, "Yeah, totally!" I grinned.

Grenda and Candy only laughed at our interaction, Grenda turned towards the monster with a smile and then spoke, "I think that they look good together, Candy, Mabel and I all ship it!" She shouted, causing Dipper and I to burn up.

"That's a good one, predictable, but still good, you can go now." He nodded, allowing her to pass through the broken glass doors.

"My turn!" Candy giggled as she looked up at the monster, "I may have been involved with a murder two cities away... But you can't prove a thing..." She squinted as she jumped through the doors before the monster even allowed her to pass through.

"Well that was unexpected." I said as I watched Candy leave.

"Very." Dipper added as he sat down to think, "Ugh, I've got it!" He said, snapping his fingers, "Alright, guy, I act cool about the whole thing, but like I'm really mad about my Grunkle Stan lying to us all summer and what not and not to mention that he had these books with him all along!" He frowned.

The monster tilted his head slightly before looking back at Dipper, "Alright, I'll let it pass, go on ahead." He said, allowing Dipper to walk through, and me to relax, finally I can tell my secret without anyone else hearing it.

Except he stopped.

"Actually, if you don't mind, I'd like to stay here and wait for _____ to tell you her secret too, that way she doesn't stay stuck in here." Dipper said, passing me a warming smile. Except it didn't warm me, it terrified me, "N-No, go on ahead, I'll deal with this alone!" I said, running behind him and pushing him out.

"But-!" He tried as I managed to shove him out of the store.

"Sorry!" I smiled awkwardly as I sighed, "Right then, let's get this over with." I said, turning towards the monster who pointed to his hourglass - the sand was almost gone!

"Alright, I might act cool too, but I have a colouring book and crayons and everything!" I shouted with eager eyes, only to have him shake his head 'no.'

"Okay, I have a magic book full of spells, a few of them, I tried to memorise last night while I was in my pillow castle!" I shouted, receiving another head shake.

"Oh, come on, what do you want to hear?" I asked, eagerly.

"Hmm.." It thought, "Why don't you tell me how you feel, those feelings seem to be your biggest secret." It said, making me sink down, "M-My feelings? Well..." I thought.

"I actually feel really happy when people praise me." I said, looking up to see if that worked, "People?" He asked.

"Ugh, yeah... Um, I feel hungry more than I should." I said, grinning slightly.

"Not those feelings." It groaned.

I looked down at my feet and took in a deep breath, "I feel really happy when I'm around Dipper..." I muttered.

"Sorry, I didn't quite catch that." It said, causing me to walk over to an empty crate on the ground and frown as I threw it at the monster, "Well then get a hearing aid because I'm not repeating myself!" I shouted.

I watched as the crate went right through the monster and turned into ashes as it passed him.

"Say it louder!" He shouted.

My hands turned to fists and I looked away as my face was on fire, "I... I like Dipper." I said, finally getting a nod from the monster, "Was that so hard?" It mocked, to which I responded, "Yes."

I walked past him as he faded away and I met everyone outside.

Mabel, Grenda, and Candy were all giggling as they looked at me while Dipper looked red.

"What's wrong..?" I asked, my heart racing.

"We heard everything!" Grenda shouted as the other two girls began shrieking.

And that... That was the story of how I died...

Well, not really, but this is my story. And what a headache it has now become...
