WILTING BLOOM
I was fading into matrimony like a shadow.
I tried to bolt, but my dreams were cremated into ashes.
I was a fish, and my moan was suppressed in a crevice.
My tomorrow was fenced with a creeper.
I was too curious to see crème de la crème.
I was a prodigy
Who crept into dreams,
But they were crushed like bubbles in champagne.
I wished to scream to the sky and drown in a flood of emotions.
I thought education was a torch,
Yet it was under the despotism of darkness.
I wanted to spread butter, but I was denied by Blue Band.
The tragedy of hijacked tomorrows,
Hallucinations sequestered by sorrows.
I was forced into the wrong place like a plant.
I struggled to bloom between the thorns of marriage.
Have you ever felt like a couch potato?
And watched your dreams dissolve in a cup of coffee?
I mourn the loss of what could have been.
